This morning the Today Show had a segment on Dennis Basso and his long and successful career. I enjoyed it thoroughly! His beginnings are covered as well as his years at QVC. I've always enjoyed his line. I have sweaters from 15 years ago that have held up and are classic styling. Thank you to the Q for bringing us Dennis Basso. Miss him in the studio.

I didn't realize he did sweaters.  I thought it was mostly outerwear.  Love his stuff, but only need so many jackets.  I have a raincoat from him that still looks like new.

Seriously, Dennis Basso was probably the finest designer on the Q.  Very classic, well-made clothes that lasted so well-they are still holding up in style and quality.  All packaged beautifully and exactly what you hoped they would be. So reliable! I miss seeing him in studio, too.  Today, Jason Wu things are very well-done and always sized right.

I have the most beautiful coat from DB from around the turn of 2000.

It has little cut-ins of faux furlike stripes around the buttons, very restrained, but is mostly just a beautiful light beige wool coat. 

I live in Fl but when I wear in in the UK on business visits in winter, I get stopped on the street and asked where I got it.

My wedding gown was Dennis Basso. I ordered it at Kleinfelds with an up charge for additional length to accommodate my 5’10” height plus heels. I had the dress shipped to me in Ohio for my seamstress to discover it was not made with extra length. It was 4 months until my wedding, not enough time to reorder the dress. Kleinfelds made an appointment for me to come in the next week and to have a rep from Dennis Basso there to see what we could do about a dress that was several inches too short. The rep from Dennis Basso was Dennis Basso.

That's cool, but please finish your story. Was he as helpful as he seems to be? Did they get the dress to fit properly?

Oh @RollTide2008 , please tell us the rest of the story!  What did he do to remedy your dress?

He had the skirt on my dress recut and sent to me the next week. He was delightful.

I ordered one thing that was his line...a beautiful quilted coat with a fur- trimmed removable hood. A bit over $150. I took it on a trip up north and wore it once. When I tried to put the hood on, discovered the zipper had been put on backwards so it could not be attached to the coat. My 39 days were over...a tailor shop wanted $45 to repair it. So much for how charming he is and nice his coats are...the quality is nonexistent from my personal experience. There is a reason QVC only has a 30 day return policy.
