Won't wear anything with spandex or manmade fibers. That stuff is uncomfortable and horrible for the environment. Give me all natural fibers: cotton, linens, silks, wools (or blends of these fibers) and I'll gladly pay for them! And 100% cotton jeans with zipper closures and slim or straight legs.

Of course, I shop elsewhere since QVC doesn't offer this type of clothing. Years ago, I was able to buy a lot of great clothing from the Q. Miss those days of quality and convenience.

@BirkiLady, both natural and manmade fabrics contribute to endangering the environment. They just do so in different ways. It's a very complex problem.

Absolutely.

Cotton is grown in soil with pesticide use , water use and space. Wool and silk are animal products.  Certainly not without impact to the environment.

The wonderful Supima cotton we all know and love for its silky feel, is raised in arid areas of West Texas and Arizona.  It only gets the water that falls from the skies; not irrigation.  All cotton is sprayed to kill boll weevils or there would be no cotton.  Right before harvest, it's also sprayed with a defolant so the leaves die and only the bolls of cotton are left to harvest.

Egyptian cotton which like Supima, has a long staple (makes cotton silky) is raised under similar conditions in the desert in Egypt.  Much labeled "Egyptian" is counterfeit and is not the long-staple product.

Re: Denim & Co Heavenly Jersey

I am not plus size but I only like a small amount of spandex, like 3%, because it helps the garment hold its shape and not stretch out...I cannot wear polyester in the hot Texas heat..miserable. I prefer rayon tops ; I find them more drapey and flattering than plain cotton....the more spandex, the more like I am wearing rubber...hate it.

Re: Denim & Co Heavenly Jersey

I know I am in the minority here but I like spandex in my clothes.  I have some KG jeans and they do not grow or stretch out as some of my other jeans do.   most of my tops have stretch and I dont want 100% cotton because of wrinkles, shrinking and it too darn hot.

Re: Denim & Co Heavenly Jersey

I like 2%-5% spandex in most things. I buy a lot of Perfect Jersey...none of it has ever felt "rubbery" to me. I find that most 100% cotton knits stretch out of shape and fade much faster than a blend...even spandex seems to help with the fading. I also find 100% wovens wrinkle so badly that by the time I get in and out of the car, I look like I've slept in the garment...same goes for linens and most silk. No thanks!

Jeans and pants MUST have a little stretch for me...no matter what size I am, the way I'm built causes pants with no stretch to cut me in the waist when I sit or bend.

100% cotton is hot to me...and I tend to run hot. Plus once it gets wet (sweaty) it clings and takes forever to dry. Polyester tends to "float" over my body even when I sweat, letting air circulate better, therefore drying more quickly. I'll take a lightweight poly shirt (or a poly cotton blend) over 100% cotton any day!

Thankfully, there's enough of everything for all of us...if not here, then somewhere else!
