Yes! It bothers me that China owns a lot more than a meat company. I couldn't care less because I don't eat it. Things that are of a pharmaceutical nature, a whole different thing. Unfortunately they control most of it.

Smithfield and with all the comments about what they’re putting in the meats I just wonder why anyone sells them

@SunnysMom   Doesn't bother me a bit.  It's just the same as Hormel or any other producer.  Much of the hog operation is contracted to local farmers.

Well that was really nasty, rude and uncalled for (but not surprising).

I quit buying Smithfield about 3 years ago.  I checked back then and their packaging said product of China.  I dont know if it has changed or not.  But I am still not going to buy Smithfield Meats.

@fthunt   Enlarge your screen. It's a lot to expect everyone who posts a comment to remember to change their font size all the time.

@Hi @SunnysMom  Woman Happy

Yeah.

     It bothers me that soooo much of USA's Commerce, Capitalism & inordinate greed relies so incredibly heavily on China for parts, whole, labor or assembly.

I find it to be incredibly trepidatious for USA to rely so heavily on a country that steals from us, flagrantly spies on us, taunts our protective military, poisons our products, requires animal testing, and slaves, starves their labor.  And is constantly nipping at our heels to eclipse USA, to become the #1 reliant competitor in the USA, as well as other countries in the World.

Yeah, it bothers me.

Not many companies that used to be American owned still are.  The following are owned by Chinese and other foreigners.

Budweiser

Popsicle

Good Humor

7-Eleven

French's

Purina

Vaseline

Hellman's

There are many more.

Almost all cosmetics and drugs, including RX drugs and medical supplies are made in China.

It is concerning, but still continues.  Scary stuff.

The Chinese purchased Smithfield so they could import US pork. It seems like a positive to balance trade.

@JeanLouiseFinch

Not all screens are pinch and zoom and do not enlarge. I happen to have used one of them.

Remembering to change the font, really? At my age it isn't remembering a font, it's remembering what I am going to type. It's in the frontal cortex of my brain, and ZIP, it's gone.

Like @fthunt, too small of a font, and when I can't read them easily?  Even if it is about my love hockey, I pass them by.
