I find it fascinating that your deer will all congregate as a herd.  The ones around me only do that during breeding season.

The rest of the year they stick with their own immediate mother and offspring.  (The older males are gone completely until breeding.)  And a few weeks before the new babies are due, the mothers will run off the yearlings that have been running with her.  They are allowed to rejoin mother and baby when the little one is a few months old.

I get the mama deer and their fawns who hang out in my back yard, rest and bask in the sun.  I back up to Rock Creek Park in DC suburbs and they visit daily....Your pictures are terrific, keep on sending the shots, they are a joy to see....

Do the same ones visit everyday? Or you can't tell?

Do they come by the same time - when the shade hit a particular section - they are there until it leaves etc - bc they look like they are down for teh count - napping

they are stunning.... I would be watching outside my window all day long
