In this age of "entitlement" I can't even imaging working a customer service job! NIGHTMARE on steroids!

A thank you to those who handle it daily!

Re: Dealing with the public 😹

[ Edited ]

At the risk of showing my age, I have worked with the public and still do, including today, for over 45 years and counting.  This includes over the phone and in person.  And as a police dispatcher I have heard just about everything.  So usually when I do come in contact with the public, they are very rarely in a good mood.

They are either the victim of a crime, the offender of a crime or want to complain on an officer.  Very rarely does John Q. Public call to just chat.  But they do want to make sure I know that they pay my salary.  But I do love my job, otherwise I would have looked elsewhere many moons ago.

Re: Dealing with the public 😹

I work with the public every day I work.  Some days are better than others but every day I hear and see things I just scratch my head in wonder.
As someone else said you don't take it personally and you never know what someone else is going thru. And there are some customers that I love seeing and interacting with.  They make my day.

@Puppy Lips So as the boss/owner did he make sure the customer left happy (or at least like he kinda sorta got his way?).

@LuvSoCal I don't remember.  But I will say that some customers are never satisfied.  It was likely a pricing issue.  We are not going to give one customer a lower price just because they complain.
