@goldensrbest

And it appears that no one here posts daily updates on the flu.

Which has killed thousands here.

Go figure!

Partly because they dont discuss the flu on the news channels.

I don't hear "discussions" on news channels but I'm certainly aware of the numbers.

Are you saying that posters here don't know?

Re: Deadliest day for China in virus fight as global fears mount

What is missing from the OP is the fact that the deaths are moving in sync with cases.

Given the estimated long incubation period, deaths will continue to be in sync with new cases, and both will keep rising.

It appears this virus is about as contagions as flu and has a mortality rate somewhere between SARS and flu.

So yes, things are not looking up.

They discuss the flu on my local news quite often.  In fact just this morning they were talking about the number of people who have died so far this year from the flu.

I got in my car to come to work, turned on the radio and they were also discussing the flu and several area schools that are closed because of it.

The flu is talked about on my local news daily. They talk with health care workers and provide stats on the number of cases.

Which makes sense, that's the real threat and there is still time for people to get flu shots.  The flu is hitting some areas especially hard among children.

It appears that way but in my area we aren’t hearing much about it...maybe not as many cases here.On the other hand I hear daily updates on the Coronavirus which seems to be getting more worrisome as time passes.

OK, well, what can I say?  If people want to worry about it, they certainly may.

I don't want to go around in circles here, so I'll just say bye for now!
