I loved David Cassidy as a kid, the Partridge Family was one of my first albums.. I come from a long line of alcoholics and know that I can easily be addicted to any mood altering drug. So I try and stay away from it all.

It sounds like he just doesn't have the needed strength to do the same and also just reading about his father, it definitely runs in the family...

Aww so sad! I always like him! My late DH & I saw him when we were married in Vegas in 1998. He was doing FX at the MGM Grand. It was a great sold out show. We had a great time & he sang and was very interactive with the audience. I saw an interview where he had hit bottom after his teen years, but got sober & became very successful again. Our demons are very strong. I have known close friends & family members who could not beat their addictions, some of us have such strong wills to beat the demons & others are not as strong. I am saddened though that they can't see past the fact that getting behind the wheel can kill someone else besides themselves. I offer prayers of strength that they get the help they need to conquer their addictions. May he find the strength to come back from his addictions and be whole again.
