I thought there was a thread last night but can't find it. It's been on my mind because I have a relative who is in his 50s and lost a very well paying job. Now he is selling cars. All his experience and education doesn't balance his age. The story of diminishing returns.

I especially thought it ironic that so many are now relying on "entitlement programs" that they once railed against as picking their pocket. Many haven't lost their hubris yet. Their self identity is still ties to their previous lifestyle.
