Most of the shows I watch are not hosted by Dan, but he always struck me as a nice, down to earth guy.

It is more important than being a good host (although I think he is one of the best hosts they have, and I hope he continues working at Q for many, many years). Often times when someone is a good person, that comes to the surface in their work life as well, and I think it does here. I find him to be genuine and very thorough, while being friendly and personable.

I think there are a lot of women who just don't like "nice" guys. They find them boring, which I think says more about them than it does the guy.
