😇 I'm fortunate to work in a hospital that values it's long time employees and the knowledge and experience that we can pass on to others. Job security in the workplace is truly a wonderful feeling.

I can't imagine being unceremoniously "dumped" because management has deemed you too old/no longer relevant.

After Antonella was diagnosed with cancer, I wonder if QVC reached out and offered her any help, or even moral support?

Bottom line, QVC can't hold any of their fired show hosts responsible for lost revenues. They're still losing money, and it's time to grill the execs about what they are doing wrong.

@ManyMeows I am glad you like your job and feel "secure."  However, in reality, there is no "job security."  While the atmosphere right now may be to value long time employees, new board members, bosses, accountants, etc., may feel differently.  I hope that does not happen, but it could.  As far as QVC reaching out to Antonella, I don't know if she ever addressed that at the time.  I doubt she would have if they did because she seemed to be soaking up the pity and support she got from all her fans.  It was not QVC's responsibility to help her with her medical bills.  I gather many, if not most, of the hosts did reach out to her to offer support.  That was who she needed to hear from, not the suits that fired her.

🤷  I'm not a fangirl, I don't Facebook, Instagram, Tweet, Twitter, etc., so whatever the people of QVC, past or present, are doing, I'm not in the loop.

Just trying to unsettle me? .....I'm secure in my job, saved well, and as of Nov. 1st, God willing, I am scheduled to officially begin my early retirement.

 Life holds no guarantees for anyone, but no need to worry about me. I'll be fine, but most important, I'm both fortunate and grateful to have an excellent support system of friends and family if needed. We all look out for one another, especially as we're all getting older, and there are fewer of us around. That's what love & caring is all about.

Always, always be kind to everyone.

@Group 5 minus 1 It is illegal, proving it is another thing. I am in litigation with my former employer right now. Fighting it out. trying to re-coup what I lost, but I had 38 years of seniority, etc, etc. I just got through the deposition part of my litigation.

I just want people to understand the terrible emotional toll that losing a long-time job can take on a person. It was difficult to pick-up at age 61 and find another job. Sure, I am a nurse and nurses are needed, but I am an old nurse now. I was in administration, I worked my way up the chain. It was difficult to go back to a job that I did in 1993. Very difficult.

Oh, and they tried to fight my unemployment, but I won on that account.

@EastCoastGal

 Two words: 23-year-old-Jaguar...

That's FOUR words!!!

One the other hand, a 23 year old Jaguar is going to be a maintenance nightmnare, so you KNOW she must have the money to maintain it!!!

@Othereeeen ... l knew someone was going to say it's FOUR words!! Technically, when you're describing...in this case a car...the proper phrase BEFORE Jaguar is 23-year-old Jaguar. It's been a long time since I've been in high school so maybe you're right that there are FOUR words...but l wrote it the correct way with the hyphens. I have no idea how much money she has and I wasn't talking about money. I was saying it's not brand new.

Also, l posted this to someone else...not you...

@ManyMeows I was not trying to unsettle you in the slightest.  I was just saying that things change and that no one should assume or think that they can not be let go from any company.  Enjoy your retirement.
