God gives us power, love and self-discipline, not fear and timidness.
Lord, I will not be afraid to proclaim that You are my God. All will see
it in my actions.
Scripture for the day:
"And the one who was seated on the throne said, 'See, I am making all
things new.' Also he said, 'Write this, for these words are
trustworthy and true.'" ~Revelation 21:5
Meditation for the day:
We can breathe in the inspiration of goodness and truth. It is the
spirit of honesty, purity, unselfishness and love. It is readily
available if we are willing to accept it wholeheartedly. God has
given us two things--God's spirit and the power of choice--to accept
or not, as we will. We have the gift of free will. When we choose
the path of selfishness and greed and pride, we can refuse to accept
God's spirit. When we choose the path of love and service, we can
accept God's spirit
and it can flow into us and makes all things new.
Prayer for the day:
I pray that I may choose the right way. I pray that I may try to
follow it to the end.
Hello my friends! Hope you all had a good day today! Weather was nice - in the 70's, and I picked a big bowl of fresh strawberries this afternoon - a great blessing!! So I have them all cleaned and ate a few, and tomorrow they'll be delicious over oatmeal for breakfast, and other things. Maybe in a couple weeks, the raspberries will be ready too. Love this time of the year!! We have another house showing Thursday afternoon. Still praying for our Miracle! God knows best, not us.

Public Enemy number One
by Monsignor Dennis Clark, Ph.D.
Gn 19: 15-29 / Mt 8:23-27
Fear is the real Public Enemy Number One. It’s what lurks behind every one of our sins. Greed starts with the fear that I won’t have enough. Anger is rooted in the fear of losing something that is essential to me. Philandering draws its power from the fear that I am empty and nothing. Fear closes down hearts and stifles love. And, if we allow it, fear ultimately steals our life away.
Fear can be exceedingly powerful, but faith can be stronger still and can overcome it at every turn. By faith we can entrust ourselves into God’s care with total confidence, knowing that God loves and cherishes us even more than we love ourselves. In doing that, we learn to see ourselves through God’s eyes, and we learn something wonderful about ourselves, namely, that we are lovable and that we already have within us the God-given capacity to do wonderful things.
If you want the rich, full, happy life that God wants for you, you’d better pay attention to Jesus’ words in today’s gospel, “Fear is useless. What is needed is faith!”
Entrust yourself, your life, your hopes, and your dreams into His hands with confidence. You’ll be surprised to discover that you have the spiritual power to do the great deeds to which the Holy Spirit who always dwells in your heart has been calling you all along.
My New Coat, God
I have a new coat, it was designed by God and given to me by Jesus Christ. All I had to do to receive this coat was to believe in God's only Son.
I find it fits me perfectly unless I allow myself to become puffed up with foolish pride, then it's too tight. If I walk with my head high, trying to be above those about, then it is too short. But if I walk humbly as I should before God, it fits me just right.
How is the coat made?
The shoulders are wide and roomy so that I can help my fellow man carry his burdens.
The collar is made of God's mercy, yes, the mercy of God's promises. First that I may become his child and second, that I will one day dwell with Him in that home prepared for His saints.
The cuffs are narrow, so that there is no room to tuck away grievance and hard feelings toward my neighbors.
The pockets are oversized, One is for the love of God; the other is to hold my love for my fellowman and all humanity.
There are three buttons on my coat, which stands for faith, hope and charity. I check on them often so that none becomes loose or lost.
The lining is made of God's forgiveness, which I need so often that I want it next to me at all times.
The belt is made of God's love that encircles me everyday.
The material is thick enough to protect me when the storms of life come my way, but not too thick that I will not be able to feel the presence of the Holy Spirit who guides me.
There are many threads in my new coat, but not one thread of doubt that God's promises are true,
Do you wonder about the color of my coat? Why, it's the color of Jesus' eyes that must sparkle when a lost soul accepts Him.
I will need my coat all through life. When I travel through the valley of death and when I view the future, I will always wear my new coat.

IT IS ALL IN THE RESUMES

RE: Personnel Evaluations
Thank you for submitting the resumes of the twelve men you have picked
for managerial positions in your new organization. All of them have
now taken our battery of tests, and we have not only run the results
through our computers, but also arranged personal interviews for each
of them with our psychologist and vocation aptitude consultant.
It is the opinion of the staff that most of your nominees are lacking
in background, education and vocational aptitude for the type of
enterprise you are undertaking. They do not have the team concept. We
would recommend that you continue your search for persons of
experience in managerial ability and proven capacity. We have
summarized the findings of our study below:
Simon Peter is emotional, unstable and given to fits of temper.
Andrew has absolutely no quality of leadership.
The two brothers, James and John, the sons of Zebedee, place personal
interests above Company loyalty.
Thomas demonstrates a questioning attitude that would tend to
undermine morale.
We believe it is our duty to tell you that Matthew has been
blacklisted by the Greater Jerusalem Better Business Bureau.
James, the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddeus, definitely have radical
leanings. Additionally, they both registered high scores on the manic
depressive scale.
However, one of the candidates shows great potential. He's a man of
ability and resourcefulness; he is a great networker; has a keen
business mind; and has strong contacts in influential circles. He's
highly motivated, very ambitious and adept with financial matters. We
recommend Judas Iscariot as your Controller and Chief Operating
Officer.
All the other profiles are self-explanatory. We wish you the utmost
success in your new venture.
What if Jesus had chosen the twelve based on the modern methods of
leadership selection? Most of them would have never had a chance to
participate. Jesus chooses people not for who they are, but for what
they can become in Him. Aren't you glad that when Jesus looked at you,
He didn't take you for what you were (a sinner); but He took you for
what you could be? Jesus sees the potential in all of us, and has
called us to be disciples. Jesus is still saying, "Follow Me!"
Take My Hand....
Are you troubled, burdened, blue?
Take my hand.
I've been troubled, too,
I understand.
Where you've fallen, once I fell --
Let me help the clouds dispel --
Take my hand.
Others helped when I was weak,
Took my hand,
Helped me face toward the peak,
Helped me stand.
What they did, now let me do --
Pass the kindness on to you.
Someday you'll help others, too.
Take my hand.
AMEN !!

I love the taste of T-bone steak,
Delicious every bite,
But there's nothing like the Word of God,
For my spiritual appetite.
The Word of God has milk and meat,
And even ice cream and cake.
Take a slice of the Bread of Life,
And coffee to keep us awake.
Open your Bible and turn to Psalms,
For David's famous buffet.
You can drink all the wine of the Word you want,
And still feel fine the next day.
There's enough of the Word for everyone,
And no one has to cheat.
The Word of God is a smorgasbord,
So take all you are able to eat.
Let's have a little long suffering,
Job gives the recipe.
Patience is the main ingredient,
Self denial is the fee.
Wrap that up in temperance,
It may not make much sense,
Cover that with contentment,
Then add some joy! for strength.
Let's have love for dessert,
Jesus made this dish,
Cream of joy and peace together,
Sift out all selfishness.
Add some deeds of righteousness,
Enough to make it sweet.
Humility is the frosting,
That makes the dish complete.
Or are you on a diet,
Cause the race seems hard to run.
For a weight losing menu,
Try Hebrews 12 and 1.
Are you suffering from malnutrition,
And don't know what to do?
Your spiritual growth seems hindered,
Try I Peter 2 and 2.
If when every time you battle,
the enemy always wins,
Try some Holy Ghost Protein,
And spiritual vitamins.
God's Word can feed millions,
And still have plenty left.
Because the Word of God is Soul Food,
Sent from the World's Greatest CHEF.
GIVE ME THE STRENGTH GOD
GOD, give me the faith to accept that bad things do
happen to good people.
GOD, give me the strength to make a good home for my
family, to be inspired to share your love with them so
they will also love you, each other and themselves.
GOD, give the strength to turn the other cheek when
people make fun of me or my loved ones, of our clothes,
our goods, let me remember that it is our faith and love
that matters.
GOD, give me the strength to bite my tongue and not
say, « I told you so » or « I knew that would happen »,
help me offer prayers of support.
GOD, give me the strength to remember to pray when I
feel that all hope is lost, let me share this hope with others.
GOD, give me the strength to make changes in this
world in Your name, to right the wrongs I see, to
give justice and love to all Your children.
GOD, help me protect my family---give the strength
to help them withstand the trials You give them.
GOD, help me remember You every day, in everything I
do, in all those I love---You are there.
GOD, give me the strength to have faith in You even
when I don't immediately understand a situation and
to accept that all that You do is for our good, even if
I don't see it.
GOD, show me the path to being a better Christian,
wife, husband, mother, friend.
GOD, give me the strength to speak a universal
language and not be misunderstood; teach me
this universal language of the heart.
GOD, show me how to lead my loved ones in the right
pathway to You, give them the strength to withstand
the barriers and return to the right path.
GOD, give me the strength to forgive other, to love
them as You love me.
GOD, give me the strength to pray when I least feel
like it.
GOD, give me a sign from time to time that You are
there and haven't forgotten us.
GOD, give me the strength to help my family members in
new ventures and experiences, to help ease their way.
GOD, I ask these things of You , not out of selfishness,
but out of love and desire to serve You better and to do
a good Job at what you have sent me here to do.
To everyone, add your own « STRENGTHS » to this list.
Use it and share it with others. May you all gain the
strength you need.
