Hello my friends! Today I took a good nap, didn't sleep much last night at the motel, my own bed is always better! After that we've been busy with the garden - got all the potatoes dug out, washed and in the garage, our garage is heated to about 40 degrees all winter, so we can keep them there in boxes, along with the apples. Supper was chicken on the grill he made with our homemade barbeque sauce, delicious! And I made a vegetable medly on the stove, stir fries with everything from the garden except the onion. Potatoes that were just dug, carrots just dug, spinach, kale, collard from the garden just picked and processed in the food processor and put in, garlic pepper and salt, and it was very delicious! Tomorrow we'll use some our own lettuce in the garden, he kept planting more so we can use this now until the frost. Blessings upon Blessings the free food from the gardens! Praying for you all for all your intentions.
Becoming overwhelmed creeps up slowly, one commitment at a time.
Lord, help me regain my time and sanity, accomplish my priorities
without major setbacks, and have quiet time left to nurture my spirit.
Scripture for the day:
"Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens,
and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me;
for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your
souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." ~Matthew 11:28
Meditation for the day:
We can rest now until life, eternal life, flowing through our veins
and heart and mind, bids us to bestir ourselves. Then glad work can
follow. Tired work is never effective. The strength of God's spirit
is always available to the tired mind and body. God is our physician
and our healer. We can look to these quiet times of communion with God
for rest, for peace, for cure. Then we can rise, refreshed in spirit
and go out to work, knowing that our strength is able to meet any
problems because it is reinforced by God's power.
Prayer for the day:
I pray that the peace I have found will make me effective. I pray
that I may be relieved of all strain during this day.
LOOK ON THE SUNNY SIDE
There are always two sides the good and the bad,
The dark & the light, the sad & the glad.
But in looking back over the good & the bad,
We're aware of the number of good things we've had,
And in counting our blessings, we find when we'er through,
We've no reason at all to complain or be blue.
So thank God for the good things He has already done,
And be grateful to Him for the battles you've won,
And know that the same God who helped you before,
Is ready & willing to help you once more.
Then with faith in your hearts, reach out for God's Hand
and accept what He sends, though you can't understand.
For our Father in Heaven always knows what is best,
And if you trust in His wisdom, your life will be blessed.
So always remember that whateverbetide you,
You are never alone, for God is beside you.

Bench Marks
A man phoned his physician and excitedly exclaimed: "Please come at once,
doctor. My son has swallowed my fountain pen." The doctor replied, "I'll be
right over, but what are you doing in the meanwhile?"
"Using a pencil," answered the father.
What do we do "in the meanwhile" is of vital importance to our lives --- and
to the lives of others. What we do with our leisure time can build our
character or destroy it. It can make our fortune or mar it.
While we wait for a traffic light to change, we can pray for our president,
our Nation and World. While we wait for an elevator we can be still and know
that God is, and He is still in charge of the Universe. While we drive or
ride to work, we can affirmatively and joyously meditate on that which is
true, pure, lovely and positive.
While we wash the dishes, mow the lawn or perform other tasks that require
less than our complete attention, we can sing, whistle or hum the tunes of
great songs and hymns that inevitably make life more beautiful for us and
our fellow man.
While we sit in the waiting room of our physician or dentist, we can thank
God for dedicated professional people, and we can pray for those patients
who might be anxious, fearful, despondent or in pain.
What we do with our golden "in the meanwhile" moments can enrich and
inspire, encourage and uplift, bless and brighten our important corner of
the world.

Give Me Strength...
Grant me strength, Dear Lord, I pray,
Control my life, don't let me stray.
When I feel angered, help me see,
That I can place my trust in Thee.
When I feel I'm sinking low,
Hold me, Lord, don't let go.
Don't let Satan have his way,
For I know he'd lead me astray.
Make me strong when I feel weak,
Let my ears listen when You speak.
Let not my faith diminish in Thee,
But save my soul and set me free.
Forgive me when I start to doubt
What faith and trust are all about.
Hold me Lord, in the darkest night,
Take away my fear and fright.
May Your voice be one, I always hear,
Saying to me, "I'm always near".
"I'll walk with you and guide you well,
But you My child, must not rebel".
Lord, I love you, forgive my fears,
Please dry my eyes from all these tears.
May I always place my trust in You,
Remembering, Lord, You've always been true.

Galatians 6:9 - So let us not become tired of doing good; for if we do not
give up, the time will come when we will reap the harvest.
The Jesus Prayer
O my Divine Savior, transform me into yourself.
May my hands be the hands of Jesus.
May my tongue be the tongue of Jesus,
Grant that every faculty of my body may serve only to glorify you.
Above all, transform my soul and all its powers,
that my memory, my will and my affections
may be the memory, the will and the affections of Jesus.
I pray you to destroy in me all that is not you.
Grant that I may live but in you and for you,
and that I may truly say with St. Paul:
"I live, now not I, but Christ lives in me" (Gal 2:20).
Mother Teresa Said...
Love Him trustfully, without looking back and without fear. Give yourself
fully to Jesus He will use you to accomplish great things on the condition
that you believe much more in His love than in your weakness.
