If you feel the need to get even, try getting even with those that have
helped you.
Lord, free me from any thoughts of revenge because this only shuts the door
to my own happiness.

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change, though the
mountains shake in the heart of the sea; though its waters roar and
foam, though the mountains tremble with its tumult. There is a river
whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy habitation of the Most
High. God is in the midst of the city; it shall not be moved; God will
help it when the morning dawns." ~Psalm 46:1-5

In God's strength we can conquer life. Our conquering power is the
grace of God. There can be no complete failure with God. When we want
to make the best of life, then we can live as near as possible to God,
the master and giver of all life. Our reward for depending on God's
strength can be sure. Sometimes the reward can be renewed power to face
life, sometimes wrong thinking overcome, sometimes people brought to a
new way of living. Whatever success comes will not be our own doing, but
largely the working out of the grace of God.

I pray that I may try to rely more fully on the grace of God. I pray
that I may live a victorious life.
Hello my friends! Hope your day went well and you had nice weather! We had a sunny day here with temps in the 30's and it felt like Spring is in the air, but it's going to get colder yet again. So we have to have warm hearts! It was a blessing when Lori stopped in after work today for a little visit, she had lots to do at home so had to get back. Phoebe, her kitty, was so cuddly and welcomed her home so nicely last night. Darla has a problem on one of Greg's cats. She pees on the carpets - she is shopping to get things to get it out and it reeks. She wonders if the cat is sick. When Greg gets back on Friday she wants him to take her to the vet. Something's got to get done there. I'd hate that. Today was just an ordinary day for us here. Linus didn't work, but he worked out at the Senior Center. It was a blessing to get to Mass at noon at the Cathedral. Tomorrow we can't go to Mass because he has an 8:30 appt. with Dr. Mike and then he goes to work at 11. His hours are picking up, but not too many and that's a good thing. See? God is providing.
I want to tell you a true story that Father Matthew told us Sunday. There was a group of nuns, they lived on donations only, and their coal was going down, and then gone. All they did was pray for a miracle that they could be provided for. It started to get cold there in the convent, and one day at prayer before the Blessed Sacrament, the Sister's heard a big noise! They lived near the RR tracks, and a car full of coal derailed and tipped over in their yard!! Oh the manager of the train was so apologetic and said he'll have a crew come and pick it all up for them shortly. The nuns said to just leave it - as they needed the coal. What? leave it there? Ok they started writing out a check for them because that's what it would cost to get the crew to pick it up, then they wrote another check for something else, and a third check because they could be sued -and the nuns got coal for the rest of their lives, and $25,000 to live on! God does provide. I never heard that story before but Father swears it's true. With God All things are possible.

Don´t Be a Squirrel
by Monsignor Dennis Clark, Ph.D.
Sir 35:1-12 / Mk 10:28-31
There is something of the squirrel in all of us, gathering up things and “squirreling” them away in assorted hiding places. There’s something of the bird in us as well, scooping up all sorts of things at random to weave into its nest. Many objects end up in nests simply because they’re brightly colored or shiny. How like our nests, full of useless stuff we just can’t say goodbye to!
We have a hard time letting go, not just of things, but of ideas, habits, places, relationships, grievances, angers, griefs, and oh so much more. Letting go is hard, but the very fact of our mortality and of the limited time that is available to any one of us is an unmistakable cue that we need to learn to let go, not just of bad things but of many wonderful things as well. Just like the man on the flying trapeze, we have to let go of one thing that is very secure in order to get to where we need to go next.
God has important work for us at each stage in our lives. The challenge is to know when one work is done and when and where the next is to begin. We’ll never find out if we don’t listen to the Spirit. We’ll never find out, if we don’t let go and go with the Spirit.
Let go and your life will blossom. Let go and you’ll discover what Jesus meant when he said: “The first shall be last, and the last shall be first.”
EXALTATION OF THE IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY
Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, in this tragic hour of the world's history, we entrust and consecrate ourselves to your Immaculate Heart, our only refuge, our hope, our salvation. Have pity on this world, torn by the most terrible conflicts, burning with the fires of hate, victim of its own sins. May your Heart be moved at the sight of so much ruin, pain and sorrow.
We consecrate to your maternal heart our persons, our families, our country and the whole of humanity. Protect and save us!
O Heart of Mary, source of true love, fill our selfish hearts with divine charity and with that true brotherly love without which there can never be peace. Grant that men and nations may understand and fulfill the precept of your Divine Son, LOVE ONE ANOTHER, in order that true peace may be firmly established in the Justice and Truth of Christ.
Body of Christ, Save Me!
Body of Christ, Save Me!
Save me from my great arch-enemy,
my weak and faltering self.
Save me from all greed of money, of power, and of praise.
Save me from thirst for pleasure, worldly show, and midnight revelry.
Save me from betraying You,
Dear Lord,
in thought, or in word, or in deed. Amen.
Mother Teresa Said...
Real prayer is union with God, a union as vital as that of the vine and the branches, which is the illustration Jesus gives us in the Gospel of John.
We need prayer.
We need that union to produce good fruit.
Lean On Me
As the road ahead seems rugged
And the path is getting steep,
I feel that I can't make it
So my heart begins to weep.
Then I turn to see who's coming
To join me on my way.
I see it is my Lord
And He slowly turns to say
"Lean on me.....
When you have no strength to stand.
When you feel you're going under,
Hold tighter to My hand.
Lean on me......
When your heart begins to bleed.
When you know I'm all you have,
Then you'll find I'm all you need."
Then when I felt that no one cared
If I lived or died,
And no one bothered asking why
I'd go alone to cry.
When the burden got so heavy
I could barely face the day,
I felt His arms around me
As I gently heard Him say
"Lean on me......
When you have no strength to stand.
When you feel you're going under,
Hold tighter to My hand.
Lean on me......
When your heart begins to bleed.
When you come to know I'm all you have,
Then you'll find I'm all you need."

DEAR FOOL
Author Unknown
I saw you yesterday as you began your daily chores. You awoke without
kneeling to pray. As a matter of fact, you didn't even bless your
meals or pray before going to bed last night. You are so unthankful. I
like that about you!
I cannot tell you how glad I am that you have not changed your way of
living. Fool, you are mine. Remember, you and I have been going steady
for years, and I still don't love you yet. As a matter of fact, I hate
you, because I hate God. I am only using you to get even with God.
He kicked me out of heaven and I'm going to use you as long as
possible to pay Him back. You see, Fool, GOD LOVES YOU and HE has
great plans in store for you. But you have yielded your life to me and
I'm going to make your life a living h ell. That way we'll be together
twice. This will really hurt God, thanks to you. I'm really showing
Him who's boss in your life. With all of the good times we've had...We
have been watching dirty movies, cursing people out, partying,
stealing, lying, being hypocritical, fornicating, overeating, telling
dirty jokes, gossiping, back-stabbing
people, disrespecting old people and those in leadership positions. NO
respect for the church, bad attitudes...
Surely, you don't want to give all of this up. Come on, Fool, let's
burn together forever. I've got some hot plans for us. This is just a
letter of appreciation from me to you. I'd like to say "THANKS" for
letting me use you for most of your foolish life.
You are so gullible, I laugh at you. When you are tempted to sin, you
give in. HA, HA, HA! You make me sick. Sin is beginning to take its
toll on your life. You look 20 yrs. older. I need new blood, so go
ahead and teach some children how to sin. All you have to do is smoke,
over indulge in alcoholic beverages, drugs, lie, cheat , gamble,
gossip, fornicate, be prideful (remember that's why God kicked me out
of heaven). Do all of this in the presence of children and they will
do it, too. Kids are like that.
Well, Fool, I have to let you go for now. I'll be back in a couple of
seconds to tempt you again. If you were smart, you would run
somewhere, confess your sins, live for God with what little bit of
life that you have left. It's not my nature to warn anyone, but to be
your age and still sinning, it's becoming a bit ridiculous. Don't get
me wrong, I still hate you...It's just that you'd make a better fool
for Christ.
Your partner in crime,
SATAN
PS - And if you really love me, you won't share this letter with
anyone!
Daily Bread
When the famous nun, Mother Cabrini, arrived in America in 1900 to work among the downtrodden Italian immigrants, she was penniless.
A countess came to her help and offered her a large house to be used as a convent and home for homeless children.
Archbishop Corrigan of New York City did not believe in the whole idea, even though the countess had also given thousands of dollars to support it. "So what?" he skeptically asked. "How long do you think that money will last? Within a year it will all be gone. And then what?"
But the countess answered, "Your Grace, when we pray, we ask for our DAILY bread, not bread for a year."
Sawing off One's Cross
They tell the story of a group of devout people
who were on a cross-carrying pilgrimage. The
going was rough and there was much moaning and
groaning. One of the pilgrims found his cross
just too heavy to carry, so he cut off a part and
shortened it.
After days of walking, the pilgrims approached
the promised land of everlasting joy and peace in
God's presence. But they still had one obstacle
to overcome. Between them and heaven was a
yawning abyss. How could they get to the other
side?
Someone thought of the idea of each one using his
cross as a bridge. And would you know it? The
crosses were just the right length to span the
gap.
So, all the cross-bearers walked across except
the one who had sawed off his cross to make it
lighter.
Closing prayer:
Prayer for My Child - or children
I come to You in Jesus name and give (name of
child) to You. I'm convinced that You alone
know what is best for him/her. You alone know
what he/she needs. I release him/her to You
to care for and protect, and I commit myself to
pray for everything concerning him/her that I
can think of or that You put upon my heart.
Teach me how to pray and guide me in what to
pray about. Help me not to impose my own will
when I'm praying for him/her, but rather
enable me to pray that Your will be done in
his/her life.
Thank You that I can partner with You in raising
him/her and that I don't have to rely on the
world's unreliable and ever-changing methods
for child rearing, but that I can have clear
directions from Your Word and wisdom as I pray
to You for answers.
Thank You, Lord, for the precious gift of this
child. Because Your Word says that every good
gift comes from You, I know that You have
given him/her to me to care for and raise. Help
me do that. Show me places where I continue
to hang on to him/her and enable me to release
him/her to Your protection, guidance, and
counsel. Help me not to live in fear of possible
dangers, but in the joy and peace of knowing
that You are in control. I rely on You for
everything, and this day I trust my child to You
and release him/her into Your hands.
