Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday

Hello my friends! Lori is on her way here to help Linus get his boarding pass, so this will be short! My blessings today is such a wonderful, beautiful sunny day we have and I vacuumed the patio, and it's so nice to be in there again!!!! Praise the Lord!!! We had out supper there tonight. I made a hot dish with ground turkey - it was yummy.
Give yourself more exercise than jumping to conclusions. Lord, grant
me sincerity and wisdom in my daily life.
S C R I P T U R E F O R T H E D A Y

You do well if you really fulfill the royal law according to the scripture,
"You shall love your neighbor as yourself." ~James 2:8

M E D I T A T I O N F O R T H E D A Y

I can prepare myself by doing each day what I can to develop spiritually and
to help others to do so. Events in my life can test me, train me and bend
me to God's will. If I am not properly trained, I cannot meet the test when
it comes. I can want God's will for me above all else.
I need not expect to have what I am not prepared for. This preparation
consists of quiet communion with God every day and gradually gaining the
strength I need.

P R A Y E R F O R T H E D A Y

I pray that I may really try to do God's will in all my affairs. I pray
that I may do all I can to help others find God's will for them.
ONE SOLITARY LIFE

He was born in an obscure village, the child of a peasant woman.

He grew up in still another village, where he worked in a carpenter
shop until he was 30.

Then for three years he was an itinerant preacher.

He never wrote a book.

He never held an office.

He never had a family or owned a house.

He didn't go to college.

He never traveled more than 200 miles from the place he was born.

He did none of the things one usually associates with greatness.

He had no credentials but himself.

He was only 33 when public opinion turned against him.

His friends deserted him.

He was turned over to his enemies and went through the mockery of a
trial.

He was nailed to a cross between two thieves.

When he was dying, his executioners gambled for his clothing, the
only property he had.. . . on earth.

When he was dead, he was laid in a borrowed grave through the pity of
a friend.

Nineteen centuries have come and gone, and today he is the central
figure of the human race, the leader of mankind's progress.

All the armies that ever marched, all the navies that ever sailed,
all the parliaments that ever sat, all the kings that ever reigned, put
together, have not affected the life of man on earth as much as that
One Solitary Life.

Do You Know Who He Is?
God's Will For You and Me

Just to be tender, just to be true,
Just to be glad the whole day through,
Just to be merciful, just to be mild,
Just to be trustful as a child,
Just to be gentle and kind and sweet,
Just to be helpful with willing feet,
Just to be cheery when things go wrong,
Just to drive sadness away with a song.
Whether the hour is dark or bright,
Just to be loyal to God and right,
Just to believe that God knows best,
Just in His promises ever to rest-
Just to let love be our daily key,
That is God's will for you and me.

Today's readings 3/10/15
Dan.3:25, 34-43; Ps.25:4-9; Mt.18:21-35
I don't think the parable Jesus presents us with today needs any interpretation, it's message is very clear and can easily be applied to all of our lives, and so if we want God to respond to our prayers for mercy it's obvious what we need to do. The reality is we all want God to "remember my sins no more" and be favored by His Love, but when we think about it for a moment the same holds true for the people we live and work with every day, and today's readings reveal that this bond between God, ourselves and our fellow man cannot be broken. Jesus tells us that much in response to the "Greatest Commandment" question in Mt.22:36-40, reminding us that everything we do should revolve around that bond of love God has established with all of us. Of course there will always be certain people who feel they've done nothing wrong and therefore don't need to be forgiven, but if we want God to forgive and forget about our faults and failures we're going to have to find a way to do the same for them. Only with the aid of God's Grace will we be able to do that, a good example of that is David's relationship with King Saul, and if David, who was a sinner as much as any one of us can do that we can too. Yes, our being forgiven depends on our willingness to forgive, and that's something to keep in mind every day as we make our way Home.
God bless you,
In Jesus - Pat

March 10

You are mine for all time - and beyond time, into eternity. No power can deny you your inheritance in heaven. I want you to realize how utterly secure you are. Even if you falter as you journey through life, I will never let go of your hand.

Knowing that your future is absolutely assured can free you to live abundantly. I have prepared this day for you with the most tender concern and attention to detail. Instead of approaching the day as a blank page that you need to fill up, try living it in a responsive mode: Being on the lookout for all that I am doing. This sounds easy, but it requires a deep level of trust, based on the knowledge that My way is perfect.

Psalm 37:23-24 If the Lord delights in a man's way, he makes his steps firm; though he stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand.

Psalm 18:30 As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is flawless. He is a shield for all who takes refuge in him. – Jesus Calling

A Prayer for Lent

Lord, keep me faithful to Your ways, honest in my dealings with others, and truthful in my speech. Let me not be the instrument to harm others through gossip, even if I know it be true. Help me to 'put my house in order' so that my every word, deed and action is carried out in true honesty and complete truthfulness without hurting or taking from others. Let me never fall into the trap of 'everyone does it!' Or see dishonesty as being justified in any way. Lord forgive my dishonesty and help me to change and make amends.

Good Morning! It's already 41 degrees here, and looks like the sky is trying to clear. We're even starting to see some snow free areas. No set plans for today. I'll probably be home working on some cleaning. Wishing a safe and good trip for Linus, and a good day for everyone here. Hope anyone with pain finds relief today! Great posts Julie! pinky

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday

Thanks Julie - the graphics are lovely.

Harlene - thanks for the prayers for Linus - he works until 4 then he's off to the airport.

Pinky - we have 53 outside now at 1:12 PM and 70 in the patio, and Linus filled the bird feeders for the first time this year. So I saw some chickadee's in there already, heard a cardinal somewhere, hope it comes here! It's so nice out in the patio. I'm dog sitting for Ollie today - so Lori is coming for supper at 6 - so we can have supper together - it's going to be a long week alone.

Hi Bobbiesue - got mine colored and cut today too - I never seem to really like the way she styles my hair though but as long as it's cut, I can set it and style it my way and that's good.

Gloria, I'm sure your hair looks great. You always look nice in the pictures I've seen of you. My hair is short. I had it cut short for the summer and will let it grow in the fall.
