Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday

If a part of your past continues to haunt you and rob you of your
joy, forgive. Lord, I can not undo the past, but with Your help, I
can let go by forgiving myself and everyone else that has hurt me.

Scripture for the day:

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change, though the
mountains shake in the heart of the sea; though its waters roar and
foam, though the mountains tremble with its tumult. There is a river
whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy habitation of the
Most High. God is in the midst of the city; it shall not be moved;
God will help it when the morning dawns." ~Psalm 46:1-5

Meditation for the day:

In God's strength we can conquer life. Our conquering power is the
grace of God. There can be no complete failure with God. When we
want to make the best of life, then we can live as near as possible to
God, the master and giver of all life. Our reward for depending on
God's strength can be sure. Sometimes the reward can be renewed power
to face life, sometimes wrong thinking overcome, sometimes people
brought to a new way of living. Whatever success comes will not be our
own doing, but largely the working out of the grace of God.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may try to rely more fully on the grace of God. I pray
that I may live a victorious life.

Greetings to all you my friends! How was your day? Hope it went well - it
was 41 degrees this morning when I got up. I wore my winter coat to Mass
this morning and it felt good! Tonight we have to bring in our plants from
the porch - it will freeze tonight. Poor plants, they love it out there!!
In the house they seem to not do so well! Maybe it's too warm in the house.
No news today about Sister LaDonna. She is waiting for her luggage to get
there - and her charger is in the luggage, then when her phone is charged
up, she said she'll call. I called Deil tonight and she hadn't heard from
her either but last night she said she was going to have more tests to day.
All I can do is pray, offer up Masses and Rosaries for her etc. just
prayer - is all we can do. On Friday, Monica, Deil's neighbor who is like a
Guardian Angel for her, said she's off on Friday and she'll take Deil to see
Sister LaDonna. What a sweetie!! Remember the weekend that Linus and his
brothers and sisters all went to Grand Forks, ND to visit Katie, their
cousin, who's 89? Good thing they did when they did, just got a call
tonight that Katie had a stroke and she's in the hospital now. Let's say a
prayer for Katie. I enjoy your posts so much - and really miss you when
you're not there!!

What do Angels Look Like
Author Unknown

Like the little old lady who returned your wallet yesterday.
Like the taxi driver who told you that your eyes light up the world, when
you smile.
Like the small child who showed you the wonder in simple things.
Like the poor man who offered to share his lunch with you.
Like the rich man who showed you that it really is all possible, if only you
believe.
Like the stranger who just happened to come along, when you had lost your
way.
Like the friend who touched your heart, when you didn't think you had one.
Angels come in all sizes and shapes, all ages and skin types.
Some with freckles, some with dimples, some with wrinkles, some without.
They come disguised as friends, enemies teachers, students, lovers and
fools.
They don't take life too seriously, they travel light.
They leave no forwarding address, they ask nothing in return.
They are hard to find when your eyes are closed, but when you choose to see,
they are everywhere you look.
So, open you eyes and count all your Angels -- for you are truly blessed!

Remember the Small Things

Some of my sisters work in Australia. On a reservation, among the
Aborigines, there was an elderly man. I can assure you that you have never
seen a situation as difficult as that poor old man's. He was completely
ignored by everyone. His home was disordered and dirty.
I told him, "Please, let me clean your house, wash your clothes, and make
your bed." He answered, "I'm okay like this. Let it be."

I said again, "You will be still better if you allow me to do it."

He finally agreed. So I was able to clean his house and wash his clothes.
I discovered a beautiful lamp, covered with dust. Only God knows how many
years had passed since he last lit it.

I said to him, "Don't you light your lamp? Don't you ever use it?"

He answered, "No. No one comes to see me. I have no need to light it. Who
would I light it for?"

I asked, "Would you light it every night if the sisters came?"

He replied, "Of course."

From that day on the sisters committed themselves to visiting him every
evening. We cleaned the lamp, and the sisters would light it every evening.

Two years passed. I had completely forgotten that man. He sent this
message: "Tell my friend that the light she lit in my life continues to
shine still."

I thought it was a very small thing. We often neglect small things.

This story is taken from "In the Heart of The World" by Mother Teresa

I am

I am what I am because of God not me, I Am is the one determined my destiny.

I Am knew me before I was born, and supplies me new life each new dawn.

I Am is the Father the Creator of man, Tis He who molds me with His hand.

Tis He who beckons until we find, the awesome truth that gives peace of
mind.

Tis He who helps us understand, and supplies the faith so we accept His
plan.

His plan by which our sins are forgiven, and a whole new life we start
living.

I am nothing myself a no one on my own, I do no good when I stand alone.

But surrendered completely to I Am, I become a part of the Great Master
Plan.

I am but an instrument I Am can use, as I share His love and expound His
views.

Prayer In Time Of Need

Jesus, do not leave me alone in suffering.
You know, Lord, how weak I am.
I am an abyss of wretchedness,
I am nothingness itself;
So what will be so strange
If You leave me alone and I fall?

I am an infant, Lord,
So I cannot get along by myself.
However, beyond all abandonment I trust,
And in spite of my own feeling I trust,
And I am being completely transformed into trust,
Often in spite of what I feel.

Do not lessen any of my sufferings,
Only give me strength to bear them.
Do with me as You please, Lord,
Only give me the grace to be able to love You,
In every event and circumstances.

Lord, do not lessen my cup of bitterness,
Only give me strength
That I may be able to drink it all. Amen. (Diary, 1489)

Good night - Sweet Dreams! Let us continue to pray for one another! Enjoy
the Gift of God's Day!!!
