When you are wrong, have the courage to admit it because it's the best
way to show that you are wiser today than yesterday. Lord, may I be
humble enough so that even my mistakes make me a stronger and better
person.
Scripture for the day:
"Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens,
and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me;
for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your
souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." ~Matthew
11:28-30
Meditation for the day:
We are so made that we can only carry the weight of twenty-four hours,
no more. If we weigh ourselves down with the years behind and the
days ahead, our back breaks. God has promised to help us with the
burdens of this day. If we are foolish enough to gather again the
burden of the
past and carry it, then indeed we can become unnecessarily heavily
burdened. We can forget that which lies behind us and breathe in the
blessing of each new day.
Prayer for the day:
I pray that I may realize that, for good or bad, past days have ended.
I pray that I may face each new day, the coming twenty-four hours,
with hope and courage.
Peace of Jesus to you all!! Today we had a wonderful blessing being invited to our dear friend's, Ann and Ray, for supper. Remember we went with them to Appleton,Wis. in June for a Conference with Fr. John Corapi? Well we bought his DVD's there, some of them, and we watched one of his talks there tonight. It was very good, they all are excellent. For supper Ray make venison, and the potatoes were made in the oven, big sliced, and had some olive oil on them and garlic flakes and were they ever good! I'm going to make them like that next. It looks like Linus' hours are going to be cut now - to what he wants them to be, about 15 to 20 hours a week and no long days.
That is a blessing! Ann mentioned that Linus should soak his feet in warm water, maybe with some epson salt in it. She's a nurse but always thinks old fashioned remedies. She thinks the warmth of the water will help. He's got nothing to lose!
Hope you all had a good day today. Ir's never to late to start some resolutions, right?
10 NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS
Author Unknown
This coming year, I have decided that with God's help, I shall:-
1) Give up complaining . . . focus on gratitude.
2) Give up harsh judgments . . . think kind thoughts.
3) Give up worry . . . trust divine providence.
4) Give up discouragement . . . be full of hope.
5) Give up bitterness . . . turn to forgiveness.
6) Give up hatred . . . return good for evil.
7) Give up anger . . . practice patience.
8) Give up pettiness . . . put on maturity.
9) Give up gloom. . . enjoy the beauty that is around me.
10) Give up gossiping . . . control my tongue.
A Guiding Light for the Year Ahead
As you go through the days of the year ahead,
busy with all the responsibilities the world has placed upon you,
remember to keep the truly special things in mind.
Keep things in perspective: Work, play, learning, living and especially our faith in Our Lord.
Have happiness as a part of your priorities!
Be creative and aware and wonderfully alive in His Truth
and always remember where to find your smile.
New journeys await you in the coming year.
Decisions lie ahead, wondering what you will do, where you will go, how you will choose when the choices are yours.
But remember, God is with you always. Work for the ability to choose wisely, to prosper, to succeed.
Let the roads that you travel take you to beautiful places, and have the faith it takes to achieve and aspire.
In this year, I pray that our hopes for our tomorrows take us to the summit of our goals,
and our joys bring us peace, love and happiness. Amen.
Why Things Happen As They Do
Why things happen as they do
We do not always know,
And we cannot always fathom,
Why our spirits sink so low...
We flounder in our dark distress,
We are wavering and unstable,
But when we're most inadequate
The Lord God is always able....
For though we are incapable,
God is powerful and great,
And there's no darkness of the mind
That God can't penetrate....
And all that is required of us
Whenever things go wrong
Is to trust in God implicitly
With a faith that's deep and strong.
And while He may not instantly
Unravel all the strands
Of the tangled thoughts that trouble us
He completely understands....
And in His time, if we have faith
He will gradually restore
The brightness to our spirit
That we've been longing for....
So remember, there's no cloud too dark
For God's light to penetrate
If we keep on believing
And have faith enough to wait!

Happy New Year From God
Happy New Year--this is God.
This year, as with every year, I will be handling all of your problems. Please remember, I do not need your help.
If the devil happens to deliver a situation to you that you cannot handle, do not attempt to resolve it.
Kindly put it all in the SFJTD BOX (Something for Jesus to Do). It will be addressed in my time, not yours.
Please be patient. Once the matter has been placed in the box, do not hold onto it.
Do not become impatient and take it back to see if you can find a solution. Holding on or removal will delay the resolution of your problem.
You must surrender the problem to Me for proper resolution.
If a situation you think you cannot handle arises, please consult Me in prayer. Together we will come up with proper resolution.
If you do not receive what you anticipate as proper response from Me, remember--some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayer.
Because I do not sleep, there is no need for you to lose any.
Rest, my child...if you need Me, I am but a prayer away.

7 Ups For Friendship
1. Open Up.
Be honest, open and candid (tempered with kindness).
2. Stand Up.
For your friends, whether they are there or not.
3. Put Up.
Give your friend the freedom to be imperfect (like you!).
4. Speak Up.
Say what you feel; be generous with sincere (public/private) praise.
5. Show Up.
Be there; do what you say you'll do.
6. Make Up.
Don't hold a grudge; be the first to say, "I'm sorry, please forgive me."
7. Re-Up.
Take inventory and re-commit yourself to the friendship often.
It's Up To You!
One song can spark a moment, One flower can wake the dream.
One tree can start a forest, One bird can herald spring.
One smile begins a friendship, One handclasp lifts a soul.
One star can guide a ship at sea, One word can frame the goal.
One vote can change a nation, One sunbeam lights a room. One candle wipes out darkness, One laugh will conquer gloom.
One hope will raise our spirits, One touch can show you care.
One voice can speak with wisdom, One heart can know what's true.
One step must start each journey, One word must start each prayer.
One life can make the difference, You see, it's up to you!
Help Me Forgive
When rage and fury overwhelm my heart,
It's time to look to God's own Holy Word.
I search the Bible for His good advice;
My will to His commands must be deferred.
In Romans God reveals His love for me;
In all things God works only for my good;
He gives me blessings I can't understand;
I’d be peaceful if I’d do the things I should.
Jesus forgave so much; why then can't I?
I want to mold my life after His own.
I pray, I try, but my sinful nature wins;
Lord, help me, I can't do this thing alone.
In Colossians, I read about the peace of Christ;
Oh, how I long to feel it in my heart.
All I have to do is to forgive,
But Lord, it seems I don't know where to start.
I need to walk a mile in the other's shoes;
They're doing what they think they have to do.
I know some problems are blessings in disguise,
But Lord, sometimes I feel so doggone blue.
Ephesians says "forgive as the Lord forgave you;
Get rid of anger and every form of malice."
I’d love to just let go and release it all,
But upon my heart is a wound that's become a callus.
I’ll keep praying, trying, Lord, no matter what;
I'm determined to let go and relinquish blame;
Someday, I’ll say, and be truly sincere:
Closing Prayer
A Prayer to Jesus
Jesus, I believe in you,
Jesus, I hope in you,
Jesus, I love you.
I believe in you for those who do not believe.
I hope in you for those who have never hoped
and for those who have lost hope.
I love you for those who have never known you
and have never loved you.
Sweet Heart of Jesus, I trust in you.
I trust in you for all, with all, in spite of all,
and forever.
O Mary, Mother of my Jesus,
keep me close to Jesus,
keep Jesus close to me.
(Romans 8:28, Colossians 3:13, Ephesians 4:31)
