Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday - New Year's Eve Day

Hello my friends! May you all have a great blessed and healthy New Year! Just want to share this with you, even if it will come out looking stupid, still trying, until I get my computer back! Recipe for a Happy New Year Take 12 fine, full-grown months; see that these are thoroughly cleansed from all old memories of bitterness, rancor, hate, and jealousy. Cut these months into 30 or 31 equal parts. (This batch will keep for one year. Do not attempt to make more than one batch at a time-many people spoil the entire lot in this way.) Prepare one day at a time as follows: Into each day, put 12 parts of faith, 11 of patience, 10 of courage, nine of work (some people omit this ingredient and spoil the flavor of the rest), eight of hope, seven of fidelity, six of open-mindedness, five of kindness, four of rest (leaving this out is like leaving the oil out of the salad-don't do it), three of prayer, two of meditation, and one of well-selected resolution. If you have no conscientious scruples, add a teaspoonful of good spirits, a dash of fun, a pinch of folly, a sprinkling of play, and a heaping cupful of good humor. Pour love liberally into the whole, and mix with vim. Cook thoroughly in a fervent heat. Garnish with a few smiles and a sprig of joy; then serve with quietness, unselfishness, and cheerfulness-and a Happy New Year is a certainty. Author Unknown

TOP TEN PREDICTIONS Author Unknown 1. The Bible will still have all the answers. 2. Prayer will still work. 3. The Holy Spirit will still move. 4. God will still inhabit the praises of His people. 5. There will still be God-anointed preaching. 6. There will still be singing of praise to God. 7. God will still pour out blessings upon His people. 8. There will still be room at the Cross 9. Jesus will still love you. 10. Jesus will still save the lost. God whispers in your soul and speaks to your mind. Sometimes when you don't have time to listen, He has to throw a brick at you. It's your choice: Listen to the whisper, or wait for the brick.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday - New Year's Eve Day

As this year draws to a close, receive My peace. This is still your deepest need, and I, your Prince of Peace, long to pour myself into your neediness. My abundance and your emptyness are a perfect match. I designed you to have no sufficiency of your own. I created you as a jar of clay, set apart for sacred use. I want you to be filled with My very being, permeated through and through with peace. Thank Me for My peaceful presence, regardless of your feelings. Whisper My name in loving tenderness. My peace, which lives continually in your spirit, will gradually work its way through your entire being. Isaiah 9:6 2 Cor. 4:7 John 14:26-27 From Jesus Calling

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday - New Year's Eve Day

Gloria, I hope those 10 predictions are right, because there are a lot of people trying to get rid of God. That isn't the majority, but it seems like the minority counts more now.

I hope you didn't hurt yourself when you fell.

Blessings to all.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday - New Year's Eve Day

Good morning!

I thought I'd post early since my grandsons are with me today and I might not get a chance later.

Gloria, so glad y'all had a safe return home. Hope you had a nice time and a wonderful Christmas.

Good morning to Harlene and BGB. Hope you have a wonderful day.

Well, another year is coming to a close. Just where has the time gone? I've given up on making resolutions, I seem to break them as soon as I make them! lol There are a few things that I am going to do better with, finances, health, and decluttering.

I started yesterday going through a file and threw out a bunch of old papers that are no longer needed or wanted. The file looks much better.

Looking around the room where our computer is, I see several things that will be donated or sold. I've made the decision that I do not need another purse, pair of earrings, bracelet or necklace. If y'all could see my collection, you'd agree! lol I'm thinking about selling or just giving away some that I have.

Losing weight. Such bad words. lol... Harlene and I are in the same boat and have agreed to encourage each other in our journey. Keep us in prayer.

That should keep me busy for a while. I'm not discouraged at what lies ahead but instead, I'm ready to do what is necessary to get my life in better order and I look forward to seeing change, good change.

So....to each of you sweet ladies, never give up, never give in. Life is what you make it. My prayer is that 2015 will be a good year for us all, in all things.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday - New Year's Eve Day

Good Morning!

I was out yesterday until the afternoon, and after I got home and got things caught up, never had time to get on the boards. Later this afternoon I'll get caught up reading to see what I missed yesterday. I had to write a reference letter for someone, and my little netbook was having fits.I had made a pot of split pea soup the day before, and was so glad not to have to prepare supper with that mess. The office program did not want to cooperate, and didn't until I checked it later on after I had my work done. Thankfully DH's laptop worked well for me, and I did what I needed on that computer.

It's gotten colder, but it nice and sunny outside. I want to try to get back to my walking this new year. I used to go in all weather, but being sick for most of this year has me totally off track. Weight is also an issue for me, but being limited in how much, as well as what type of exercise I can do, makes me concerned about how much I'll be able to lose. I'll give it a shot, and see what happens.

Hi to Gloria, Lucy, Julie, Harlene and all of our posters and readers! Have fun ringing in the new year tonight! We're staying home we usually do. We make a nice dinner, and I'll be in bed at my regular time. I'm never up at midnight. DH rarely is either. There is a mass tonight at our church, and one in the morning. I'm hoping to be able to go later on today and then not have to worry about heading out anywhere tomorrow.

Happy New Year Everyone! Hope it your best year ever! Hugs, pinky

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday - New Year's Eve Day

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

May God gives us all a healthy, and prosper 2015.

I'm off to work in a little while. Gloriajean asked if I would post this:

TEARDROPS IN GOD'S BOTTLE

GOD, who saw your yesterdays,

Sees all of your tomorrow's.
HE sees your pain and heartache,
And keeps track of all your sorrows.
GOD knows each hurting, lonely child,
HE sees the soul that weeps.
The righteous tears HE gathers,
GOD, in HIS bottle, keeps.
Not one will be forgotten,
Not one is overlooked.
The teardrops GOD has gathered
Are recorded in HIS book
Each footstep is remembered
On the winding path we trod.
Each precious tear is treasured,
For they touch the heart of GOD.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday - New Year's Eve Day

Julie - thanks for the nice messages! Harlene - I agree with you - God should not be out of our lives or written documents etc. etc.. Lucy - Thanks for the great New Year's Prayer! Losing weight seems like the norm for the New Year - maybe I can try to lose 10 pounds - that would be nice. Pinky Ann - cute name! I just love split pea soup!! Your post reminds me to make some again soon! Do you use a ham bone for yours? Maybe I should have your recipe. We couldn't go to Mass tonight because he's working and tomorrow it's at our twin parish at 8 Am! I sure do miss our computer! The tablet is ok, but not like our computer! From Monday he said 3 to 5 business days, and we have the Holiday in the middle, maybe Monday. They'll call. For exercise, I am hoping to get on the treadmill in the garage! It's cold there, but Linus has the heater on to about 40 degrees so nothing freezes there. I also have a health rider right next to the treadmill. Let's all support each other for a New Healthy Year! Juanita - Thanks for posting that! It comes there much better than I can do. I'll be typing out the New Year's reflection from Jesus Calling again tonight for the new thread. Linus dictates, and I type and that goes well. Bobbiesue - I second that - May God give us all a great 2015! Hope you all liked the Jesus Calling message for today!
