Hello my friends! Today I admit I've been in a slump mood - feeling nauseated most of the day - cheated on our diet for supper, had sweet potato fries and no veggies tonight, also had pork chop on the grill, Didn't have much for lunch, didn't feel good, so tonight with a little wine and that food, which was delicious, made me feel so much better! On this food plan, sometimes I just get too many veggies. So our supper was a great blessing, and visiting with two friends on the phone tonight another great blessing!!! One in AZ and the other in NC. Today was the funeral of my friend, Char. Couldn't go, as I wasn't feeling well, but I heard that her husband, also in the 80's and his son, played the saxophone for a tribute to her. He played Sax all his years at the Air Force until retirement. She was taking care of him, as he just had knee surgery!! But she did have a bad heart.
To be successful in the projects you undertake today, you must believe in
yourself and your abilities even if you are walking on new ground. Lord,
guide me in my endeavors and open my mind to new solutions if things
aren't going as I have planned.
Scripture for the day:
"Make me to know your ways, O LORD; teach me your paths. Lead me in
your truth, and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you
I wait all day long." ~Psalm 25:4-5
Meditation for the day:
There is much beauty in a God-guided life. There is wonder in the
feeling of being led by God. We can try to realize God's bounty and
goodness more and more. God is planning for us. God's ways are
wonderful. They are beyond our knowledge. But God's leading can
enter our consciousness more and more, and bring us ever more peace
and joy. Our lives are being blessed by God. We can count all
material things as loss if they prevent us from winning our way to the
consciousness of
God's guidance.
Prayer for the day:
I pray that I may earn the rewards of God's power and peace. I pray
that I may develop my awareness of being led by God.
TO MY CHILD . . .

Just for this morning, I am going to smile when I see your face and
laugh when I feel like crying.
Just for this morning, I will let you choose what you want to wear,
and smile and say how perfect it is.
Just for this morning, I am going to step over the laundry, and pick
you up and take you to the park to play.
Just for this morning, I will leave the dishes in the sink, and let
you teach me how to put that puzzle of yours together.
Just for this afternoon, I will unplug the telephone and keep the
computer off, and sit with you in the backyard and blow bubbles.
Just for this afternoon, I will not yell once, not even a tiny grumble
when you scream and whine for the ice cream truck, and I will buy you
one if he comes by.
Just for this afternoon, I won't worry about what you are going to be
when you grow up, or second-guess every decision I have made where you
are concerned.
Just for this afternoon, I will let you help me bake cookies, and I
won't stand over you trying to fix them.
Just for this afternoon, I will take us to McDonald's and buy us both
a Happy Meal so you can have both toys.
Just for this evening, I will hold you in my arms and tell you a story
about how you were born and how much I love you.
Just for this evening, I will let you splash in the tub and not get
angry.
Just for this evening, I will let you stay up late while we sit on the
porch and count all the stars.
Just for this evening, I will snuggle beside you for hours, and miss
my favorite TV shows.
Just for this evening when I run my finger through your hair as you
pray,
I will simply be grateful that God has given me the greatest gift ever
given.
I will think about the mothers and fathers who are searching for their
missing children; the mothers and fathers who are visiting their
children's graves instead of their bedrooms; and mothers and fathers
who are in hospital rooms watching their children suffer senselessly,
and screaming inside they can't handle it anymore.
And when I kiss you goodnight I will hold you a little tighter, a
little longer. It is then, that I will thank God for you, and ask him
for nothing, except one more day.
I WAS NOTHING
Anonymous
Jesus...
I had nothing till I met you
My life was worthless
Just like a piece of clay
Laying on the ground before your feet.
But you came and picked me up.
You saw the beauty in me,
The beauty you alone saw...
only you..no one else, not even me.
You placed me in front of you,
And saw what you could make out of me.
You then got ready
And started working into my life.
You worked your loving hands so gently
And made sure I wouldn't get hurt.
You molded me to an image of you
And breathed life into my soul.
PRAYER
"Lord Jesus, you became a servant for my sake to set me free from the
tyranny of selfishness, fear, and conceit. Help me to be humble as you
are humble and to love freely and graciously all whom you call me to
serve."
A Prayer
Jesus, Light of the world.
When I am afraid and unsure,
comfort me with the light of Your presence.
When Loneliness chills me,
warm me with the light of Your love.
When the road ahead seems dark,
guide me with the light of Your way.
When I don't understand and my
thoughts are unclear,
fill me with the light of Your wisdom.
When I seem spent like a candle consumed,
replenish me with the light of Your life.
Then, so filled with Your light, use me,
So that I, with You, may be light for the world!

Hi Gloria, I hope you are feeling better.
I'm asking for prayers as I am going to have a Colonoscopy on Wednesday. I have to start my Prep this afternoon.
Counting my Blessings.

I just came back from the market. It is expected to snow 8 to 10 inches tonight. Let it snow. I'm ready. I'm about to make a pot of chicken soup with corn bread. Tomorrow it's mac and cheese. It is expected to pass over us quickly. So We will be fine. I plan to watch some old movies. Bette Davis movies. Wasn't she great?
Gloria, I'm glad Lori is home. That is what you said, right? Did Linus get the job? I hope so. Ask him what he thinks about the Frigidare Affenity dryer. I just bought one and paid a lot of money for it. I hope it lasts. I hope Frigidare products are good.
Blessings to all here. Thank you Jesus for getting me home from the store safely and providing the food for the next few days. What a great God we serve. Oh, by the way, I got my meds.

Hello everyone,
"And therefore the Lord (earnestly) waits (expecting, looking, and longing) to be gracious to you; and therefore He lifts Himself up, that He may have mercy on you and show loving-kindness to you. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are all those who (earnestly) wait for Him, who expect and look and long for Him (for His victory, His favor, His love, His peace, His joy and His matchless, unbroken companionship)! Isaiah 30:18 - Amplified
Gloriajean, thank you for sharing your blessing on getting tires. We never know how God is working. We know that He is never late. God is an awsome God. It sounds like God is working in the background for Linus and that job. Prayers always for you and your loved ones.
Felicia, you have my prayers! Felicia, pray BIG!!! Pour your heart out to God, tell Him your desires of your heart. Don't just pray for more hours, pray for days, weeks, months...pray BIG!
Sometimes, I think we and I am including myself, we pray small prayers...God is Big, God is powerful, God is loving. Pray Big!
Harlene, prayers being lifted up for you.
Bobbisue, continue prayers for you.
My blessing, Prayer, knowing God is alway's available.
Another way to look at the above scripture Isaiah 30:18, from the Living Bible...
"Yet the Lord still waits for you to come to Him, so He can show you His love; He will conquer you to bless you, just as He said. For the Lord is faithful to His promises. Blessed are those who wait for Him to help them."
Friends, God is waiting for us...Pray Big! Keeping all in my prayers. Thank you for yours! Until next time...
Take Care and God Bless!

Harlene - prayers being said for your request. I feel for you. I have never ever had one in my life.
Bobbiesue - Oh! that chicken soup with corn bread sounds so good!! Enjoy it, dear!! Another one I love is mac and cheese!! Gosh! I haven't watched old movies in a long time. Hope you enjoy them all! It's really Darla who is home now from Miami. She teaches tonight so I can't call her - haven't heard from her except for a text that she's home Sunday night and that she was really sore from the trip. Linus didn't get called just yet - still hoping and praying, but he says that the Frigidaire Affinity Dryer is good - does it steam? He says they do. He still knows alot about appliances from the last appliance job he had and loved. Hope it lasts you a real long time.
Felicia - I agree with Juanita about asking for BIG! God is big and can work miracles! I'll be prayer for a good, favorable outcome for you - for more and more hours with your son. Heaven's Sakes I would go nuts if I couldn't have my kids longer when they were younger. May God grant you your hearts desires and then even more and more!! Think BiG!
Juanita - I so agree about praying for big miracles. I do it all the time! God can handle the big as well as the small, why not ask for the BIG! Good response her for Felicia. Yes, that was truly a miracle about the tires! We never expected that at all!! God works in big ways! Praise His Holy Name! I still have lots of hopes that he gets that appliance job being they are talking about this month or March. That would be so awesome, and with hopes, too, that he'll have a desk so he won't have to be on his feet all the time. God knows how much we need the money!
