In life it is those that persevere that will succeed. Lord, every day is a fresh beginning. With You, I will come closer to my goals each day if only I don't give up and quit.
Scripture for the Day
"Rid yourselves, therefore, of all malice, and all guile, insincerity, envy, and all slander. Like newborn infants, long for the pure, spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow into salvation — if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good." — Peter 2:1-3
Meditation for the Day
I can remember that in spiritual matters I am only an instrument. It is not mine to decide how or when I am to act. God can plan all spiritual matters. It is up to me to make myself fit to do God's work. All that hinders my spiritual activity can be eliminated. I can depend on God for all the strength I need to overcome those faults which are blocks. I can keep myself fit, so that God can use me as a channel for God's spirit.
Prayer for the Day
I pray that my selfishness may not hinder my progress in spiritual matters. I pray that I may be a good instrument for God to work with.
Hello to all you positive pals and grateful gals! Hope your day is going well and that you who have Daylight Saving Time are enjoying the extra hour tonight. We are. Our porch got up to 65 degrees today!! Tomorrow should be the same - longing for spring - it's just around the corner now peeking in! What a blessing Spring is!! My favorite time of year, and my birthday's in Spring, too. Just saw a nice picture on Facebook of my two daughters in Texas when Lori went there for her birthday weekend. Such a blessing to go there and see my girls!! This is why I like Facebook, because I get to see pictures I wouldn't see otherwise, and also pictures of my nephews and nieces there and some friends. So far, I'm beating Lori on Farkel there! Soon she'll get past me and I'll have to try hard to compete again - that's why I like to play Farkel there, always competing with Lori and that's fun. Today she did massages at her house again. She loves that and so do the clients that come there. Had a nice phone call this afternoon that was a blessing! Also it's so nice that Linus gets home now at 5 instead of later, and I had supper all ready - left over beef roast, made a gravy, cooked potatoes, and carrots that were roasted with the beef. Filling and good! I don't know how low glycemic it was, but I portioned it for us and it was plenty. We haven't had beef for awhile so it was good again for a change. Chicken tomorrow and salad.

He Loves You Because You´re His
by Monsignor Dennis Clark, Ph.D.
Lv 19:1-2, 11-18 / Mt 25:31-46
Scanning a history book, reading a newspaper, or watching the news on television make very concrete the vast contradictions to be found in this human race of ours. That monsters like Adolf Hitler and Slobodan Milosevic and saints like Mother Theresa and good Pope John could inhabit the same planet and the same century is astonishing. Yet it is Christian belief that God made every one of us in his own image and likeness, and that the Holy Spirit dwells in every heart — without exception.
There is the challenge that each of us must face all our lives long: To see in every one of our brothers and sisters the likeness of God, no matter how damaged and distorted they may have become. Jesus speaks the challenge boldly in today’s gospel: “Whatever you did for the least of my brethren, you did it for me… And whatever you neglected to do for the least of my brethren, you neglected to do it for me.”
God loves each one of us, not because we’ve earned it, but because we are his. Our vocation, in turn, is to learn how to love all our brothers and sisters, not because they earned it, but because they are the Lord’s. That kind of open-ended loving changes hearts and, as scripture says, covers a multitude of sins. So let us love, not just in word but in deed.
Short Meditation
Open the Door
All of us have someone who is a black sheep in the family.
Today, try to reconnect with that person.
Let them know your door is always open.
A Prayer for Purity
Mary, loving Daughter of God the Father, I give my soul to your care. Protect the life of God in my soul. Do not let me lose it by serious sin. Protect my mind and my will so that all my thoughts and desires will be pleasing to God.
Hail Mary...
Mary, loving Mother of God the Son, I give my heart to your care. Let me love you with all my heart. Let me always try to love my neighbor. And help me avoid friends who might lead me away from Jesus and into a life of sin.
Hail Mary...
Mary, loving Spouse of the Holy Spirit, I give my body to your care. Let me always remember that my body is a home for the Holy Spirit who dwells in me. Let me never sin against Him by any impure actions alone or with others, against the virtue of purity.
Hail Mary...
DON'T LOOK BACK

As you travel through life there are always those times
When decisions just have to be made,
When the choices are hard, and solutions seem scarce,
And the rain seems to soak your parade.
There are some situations where all you can do
Is simply let go and move on,
Gather your courage and choose a direction
That carries you toward a new dawn.
So pack up your troubles and take a step forward -
The process of change can be tough,
But think about all the excitement ahead
If you can be stalwart enough!
There might be adventures you never imagined
Just waiting around the next bend,
And wishes and dreams just about to come true
In ways you can't yet comprehend!
Perhaps you'll find friendships that spring from new things
As you challenge your status quo,
And learn there are so many options in life,
And so many ways you can grow!
Perhaps you'll go places you never expected
And see things that you've never seen,
Or travel to fabulous, faraway worlds
And wonderful spots in between!
Perhaps you'll find warmth and affection and caring
And somebody special who's there
To help you stay centered and listen with interest
To stories and feelings you share.
Perhaps you'll find comfort in knowing your friends
Are supportive of all that you do,
And believe that whatever decisions you make,
They'll be the right choices for you.
So keep putting one foot in front of the other,
And taking your life day by day...
There's a brighter tomorrow that's just down the road -
Don't look back! You're not going that way!
WHEN THE WORLD FORGETS...
who you are,
to share your pain,
to be kind,
to be compassionate,
to smile,
to lift a helping hand,
the sick,
the lonely,
the frazzled, worn, caretaker,
to understand,
to love,
to say "Good Morning",
to let us remember,
to say, "I Love You",
to let us forget,
to say, "Good Night",
to show they care,
to be our friend,
to listen,
to hear,
to speak,
to give gifts of kindness,
to always be there for us,
...God always remembers.

WHAT DO YOU HEAR?
Author Unknown
March 14, 2011
A Native American and his friend were in downtown New York City,
walking near Times Square in Manhattan. It was during the noon lunch
hour and the streets were filled with people. Cars were honking their
horns, taxicabs were squealing around corners, sirens were wailing,
and the sounds of the city were almost deafening. Suddenly, the Native
American said, "I hear a cricket."
His friend said, "What? You must be crazy. You couldn't possibly hear
a cricket in all of this noise!"
"No, I'm sure of it," the Native American said, "I heard a cricket."
"That's crazy," said the friend.
The Native American listened carefully for a moment, and then walked
across the street to a big cement planter where some shrubs were
growing. He looked into the bushes, beneath the branches, and sure
enough, he located a small cricket. His friend was utterly amazed.
"That's incredible," said his friend. "You must have superhuman ears!"
"No," said the Native American. "My ears are no different from yours.
It all depends on what you're listening for."
"But that can't be!" said the friend. "I could never hear a cricket in
this noise."
"Yes, it's true," came the reply. "It depends on what is really
important to you. Here, let me show you." He reached into his pocket,
pulled out a few coins, and discreetly dropped them on the sidewalk.
And then, with the noise of the crowded street still blaring in their
ears, they noticed every head within twenty feet turn and look to see
if the money that tinkled on the pavement was theirs. "See what I
mean?" asked the Native American. "It all depends on what's important
to you."
What's important to you? What do you listen for? Some people say that
there is no God, and that He never speaks to us anymore. But perhaps
they can't see or hear Him because they aren't listening for Him. They
are living for themselves, not for God.
If you are in tune with God, you will be able to notice Him at work in
your life and in the world. And you'll be able to hear Him when He
speaks.
Closing prayer:
Lord, Lord, Open unto me
Open unto me - Light for my darkness.
Open unto me - Courage for my fear.
Open unto me - Hope for my despair.
Open unto me - Peace for my turmoil.
Open unto me - Joy for my sorrow.
Open unto me - Strength for my weakness.
Open unto me - Wisdom for my confusion
Open unto me - Forgiveness for my sins.
Open unto me - Tenderness for my toughness.
Open unto me - Love for my hates.
Open unto me - Thy Self for my self.
Lord, Lord, open unto me!
AMEN.
