Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

When you can't fall asleep, spend the time talking with God and in prayer
you will soon be sleeping. Lord, next to Your heart, what a safe and
restful
place to sleep.

Scripture for the day:

"Where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them."
~Matthew 18:20

Meditation for the day:

"Where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them."
The spirit of God can come upon God's followers when they are all together
at one time, in one place, and with one accord. When two or three
consecrated souls are together at a meeting place, the spirit of God is
there to
help and guide them. Where any sincere group of people are together,
reverently seeking the help of God, God's power and God's spirit are there
to
inspire them.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may be in accord with the members of my group. I pray
that I may feel the strength of a consecrated group.

Hello my friends! The day went well - very nice outside again today - and
this time not chilly!! Linus worked his long shift - but his new shoes
helped a lot and he wasn't as hurt and worn out as he thought he'd be. Our
prayers are powerful. Then this afternoon I heard I had a voicemail. I
never heard it ring! So I find out that there are 4 voicemails, and the
first one I could get and it was Greg's Mother inviting us for Mother's day
and Lori. I was able to call her back and accept, and offer to bring
something, a salad and wine, and before we were finished, the phone went
dead and I couldn't call out anymore or hear the rest of the voice messages.
I was in a dither! That never happened to me before! Then maybe an hour
later Linus got home, he was so worried about me because he couldn't get
ahold of me, neither could Darla - so off we went to Sprint and found out
that there's a cell outage here in this area, he could call me from work,
but here his phone didn't work either. Thanks be to God it wasn't our
phones and this will get fixed by 10 tonight! So I could email my girls to
let them know. Nice to see your posts, Caroline and Juanita - so glad you
don't give up on me! It makes it so much easier on me to just do this one
thread at night instead of answering everyone as I did before, but I was
happy to do it, but this is better and not so time consuming.

"Little things"
By Bob Perks

"What do you remember most about your mom?" I asked.

"The way she did the dishes," she replied. "She used a wash rag, not
a sponge. She took her time doing them like she was giving us a bath."

I was in a card store trying to find a card for my wife. I don't like
to just stand there looking. I like to talk to the people who are
trying desperately to find just the right words.

I thought it was a great time to ask what they remembered. It also
helped them to find the right card.

"What about you? What one thing do you think of when you think of
her?" I asked the woman to my right.

"The way she folded her clothes. It was never one, two, three. If she
was folding an under shirt it was the same as folding a work shirt.
Every crease in every fold meant something to her," she replied.

Another woman nearby joined in.

"My mom ironed the bed linens. The details she insisted on were such
that you would think she was giving tours through the house," she said
laughing.

Within minutes each of them had selected the "perfect" card.

"Thanks. That helped me find the right one."

"Me, too!"

"I hate buying cards...this was easy, thanks!"

So, what was it that made it so easy?

The little things.

When it comes to love, we don't think about the big accomplishments,
we tend to focus on the details. The way they walk, talk, smile, cook,
laugh or sing is suddenly more important than anything else.

Think for a moment about someone you love. What comes to mind?

See, we create an image of that love by painting a picture of them.
All the little things remembered are like single strokes of a brush.

For me? Cup cakes. My mom made the best cup cakes. Nothing fancy, just
chocolate with butter icing. The cake was moist and the icing thick.
Always the first ones to go at the school bake sales.

If you are a mom by giving birth, adopting or by marriage. If you have
no human children but furry babies. If you are blessed to still have
your mom or if she is now blessing heaven with her presence...

I wish for you this weekend, days filled with little things to
remember and big love to give.

I have to bake some cup cakes!

Forgiveness Heals

A girl was being treated for several months for anemia but without any
success. So her doctor decided to send her to a sanatorium faraway.

The first thing she got there, she underwent a thorough physical
examination. And the examining doctor found her blood count to be completely
normal. The referring doctor double-checked it and could not believe his
eyes. So he called in the girl and asked her, "Has anything out of the
ordinary happened in your life since your last visit? "Yes," she admitted.
"Suddenly I was able to forgive someone against whom I had borne a nasty
grudge all my life. At that moment, I felt completely changed inside."

So now the doctor knew the answer. Her mental attitude had changed, and the
very state of her blood had changed with it.

Being angry at someone can be stupid, because the other person might not
even be aware of it. So, the only one being harmed is our self.

PRAYER FOR STRENGTH AND WISDOM

Lord, give me strength and wisdom to live this day as I ought.
Give me
strength to overcome every temptation which may come to me,
strength to do well every task which is assigned to me,
strength to shoulder every responsibility which is laid upon my shoulders,
Give me
wisdom to know when to speak and when to keep silent,
wisdom to know when to act and when to refrain from action,
wisdom to know when to speak my mind and when to hold my peace.
So bring me to the end of this day in goodness, in happiness and in peace.
Amen.

Prayer to Honor the Name of Mary

O Mary, each time I say thy Name, I want to thank the Holy Trinity for
having created thee so beautiful and full of grace. I want to honor thine
Immaculate Conception, thy Divine Maternity, and thy glorious Assumption.

O Mary, each time I say thy Name, I want to unite myself with thee in
co-offering all the Masses which are being celebrated throughout the world,
in order to offer to Jesus through thine Immaculate Heart my actions, my
prayers, my joys and my troubles each and every moment of my life.

O Mary, each time I say thy Name, I want to confide to thee those whom I
love and those to whom I wish to do good, especially: . . .

I wish to receive from Jesus through thee all the graces of which I am in
need: spiritual graces and temporal favors, especially: . . .

O Mary, each time I say thy Name, I want to remind thee that I am thy child
and that thou art my Mother. Help me as thou didst help Jesus. Protect me as
thou didst protect Jesus.
When I call thee, Mary, remember me!

It would be most efficacious to recite this prayer at the beginning of each
day, preferably before our daily Rosary or before any chaplet. The name of
Mary is mentioned no less than 106 times in the Rosary and at least once in
most chaplets.

May is known as the month of Mary. Many people join in with
their families and friends to pray the Rosary..

WHY THE DAILY ROSARY?

Our Lady has 117 titles. She selected this title at Fatima:
"I am the Lady of the Rosary."

St. Francis de Sales said the greatest method of praying is
to Pray the Rosary.

St. Thomas Aquinas preached 40 straight days in Rome Italy
on just the Hail Mary.

St. John Vianney, patron of priests, was seldom seen without
a rosary in his hand.

"The rosary is the scourge of the devil" -- Pope Adrian VI

"The rosary is a treasure of graces" -- Pope Paul V

Padre Pio the stigmatic priest said: "The Rosary is THE
WEAPON"

Pope Leo XIII wrote 9 encyclicals on the rosary.

Pope John XXIII spoke 38 times about our Lady and the
Rosary. he prayed 15 decades daily.

St. Louis Marie Grignion de Montfort wrote: "The rosary is
the most powerful weapon to touch the Heart of Jesus, Our
Redeemer, who so loves His Mother."

MARY, QUEEN OF THE HOLY ANGELS -- PRAY FOR US!

Last night I had a dream.
I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Across the sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand: one belonged
to me, the other to the Lord.

After the last scene of my life flashed before me, I looked back at the
footprints in the sand.
I noticed that at many times along the path of my life, especially at the
very lowest and saddest times, there was only one set of footprints.

This really troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it.
"Lord, you said once I decided to follow you, You'd walk with me all the
way.
But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life,
there was only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me."

The Lord replied, "My son, my precious child, I love you and I would never
leave you.
During your times of suffering, when you could see only one set of
footprints, it was then that I carried you."

Isaiah 49:15 - "Can a woman forget her own baby and not love the child she
bore? Even if a mother should forget her child, I will never forget you."

Hebrews 13:5 - "I will never leave you. I will never abandon you."
