Do not act as though you are watching a parade because we are each one
of the marchers. Lord, things change so quickly. Help me to celebrate the
constant newness of my life.

"The one who endures to the end will be saved." ~Matthew 10:22
M E D I T A T I O N F O R T H E D A Y
How many of the world's prayers have gone unanswered because those who
prayed did not endure to the end? Sometimes we feel like it's too late,
that we need to act for ourselves, that God is not going to guide us. "The
one who endures to the end will be saved." Can I endure to the very end? I
can try to endure with courage. If I endure, God can unlock those secret
spiritual treasures that are missed by those who give up too soon.
P R A Y E R F O R T H E D A Y
I pray that I may follow God's guidance so that spiritual success shall be
mine. I pray that I may never doubt the power of God and take things into
my own hands.
Hello my friends! Well, what a nice day here today - It was in the 40's and
over 60 in the patio! I had the patio door open most of the afternoon.
Sat in the swing for a while. It was nice, can hardly wait for when we can
do this on a daily basis again. Maybe soon. Today I got a lot of work done
in the house - I dusted, used the swifty on the wood floors and mopped them
and vaccuumed the carpets. When he came home from work he made supper on
the grill - pork chops and sweet potato fries, and I just made some
vegetables on the stove. Very filling!!
Cleaning lady comes on Thursday - I wonder what I'll have her clean. Maybe
just the bathrooms. I won't need her again, I'm keeping it up - fighting
the fight with the dust and winning!
Georgia, my hair stylist, says that I won't need a cleaning lady every
month, I could get her four times a year if needed. Georgia also cleans
houses, and does home health care and hair. Busy gal. Very nice lady she
is. My blessing to day - Linus worked his 6 hour shift and his knee doesn't
hurt! Praise God!! Another blessing - I don't write about this much but
I've had this doggone plantar's wart for maybe 9 years now, and finally it
seems to be getting smaller and smaller now since I'm soaking my foot in
epsom salt and tea tree oil daily and changing the duct tape twice a day and
putting more tea tree oil on it. Linus scrapes it off then with a razer, I
cannot even see it - it's right by the toes. I 'm praying daily for it's
healing. I'm sure I got it in the pool when I was taking Aqua Aerobics.
It was a good day and I thank God for His blessings upon us.
Getting to Jesus
by Food For Thought
First Reading: 1 Kgs 8:1-7, 9-13
Psalm: Ps 132:6-7, 8-10
Gospel: Mk 6:53-56
In today’s Gospel we see a continuation from yesterday of the theme of Jesus
the Healer. When Jesus disembarks from the boat everyone waiting on the
shore knew him and they all rush forward carrying the people they love who
are sick or disabled to Jesus so that they can be healed. None of them doubt
that Jesus lacks the power or the willingness to heal. Mark tells us that
they laid the sick in the streets and made every effort to simply “touch the
hem of his garment,” confident that would be sufficient to bring about
healing. And it worked: as many as touched him were made whole.
You have to be pretty confident in someone to entrust the very life of your
ailing spouse or child to the touching of that person’s hem—the outer edge
of his clothes!
Now consider that at Mass we encounter that same Jesus. Do we approach him
with the same confidence of those people 2,000 years ago? Is it still true
that even if we drag ourselves to Mass, however sick, tired, bored or
disinterested we may feel, Jesus’ power will, in some way, heal us? Of
course! Just get to Jesus. Reach out, at the very least, for the “hem” of
his garment—he will come to your rescue.
Joy
May the joy and the love of the risen Jesus
be always with you, in you, and among you
so that you become the true witness
of the Father's love for the world.
from Thirsting for God: Mother Teresa
Prayer for True Spiritual Vision
May the Lord Jesus place his hands on our eyes that we may begin to catch
sight of the thing that are not seen more than the things that are seen.
May he open our eyes that they will alight on the things to come more than
on the things of this age.
May he unveil the vision of our heart that it may contemplate God in spirit.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ to whom belong glory and power for
ever. Amen.

Thank You Lord
God is all around us,
His love is everywhere,
Take a moment just for Him
And let Him know you care.
Thank Him for your family,
For every warm embrace,
For each precious smile
Seen on a loved one's face.
Thank Him for the flowers
That color your world in spring,
Thank Him for the morning sun
And renewed hope it brings.
Think about your humble home
And what it means to you,
Think back during dark times
When His light came shining through.
His love has been there,
In every blessing given,
He has shown that His light
You truly can believe in.
So take a moment for Him
And thank Him for your day,
And the many special gifts
He lovingly sends your way.
The child's tears you wipe,
The road beneath your feet,
That one answered prayer,
A calm and restful sleep.
Sunsets leading to tomorrows
Graced with His gifts of love,
Take just one moment,
And thank your Lord above.

I've Learned......
Written by Andy Rooney,
a man who has the gift of saying so much with so few words. Enjoy.......
I've learned......That the best classroom in the world is at the feet of an
elderly person.
I've learned......That when you're in love, it shows.
I've learned...... That just one person saying to me, 'You've made my day!'
makes my day.
I've learned.......That having a child fall asleep in your arms is one of
the most peaceful feelings in the world.
I've learned......That being kind is more important than being right.
I've learned...... That you should never say no to a gift from a child.
I've learned......That I can always pray for someone when I don't have the
strength to help him in some other way.
I've learned......That no matter how serious your life requires you to be,
everyone needs a friend to act goofy with.
I've learned......That sometimes all a person needs is a hand to hold and a
heart to understand.
I've learned......That life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer it
gets to the end, the faster it goes.
I've learned......That we should be glad God doesn't give us everything we
ask for.
I've learned......That money doesn't buy class.
I've learned......That it's those small daily happenings that make life so
spectacular.
I've learned.....That under everyone's hard shell is someone who wants to be
appreciated and loved.
I've learned......That to ignore the facts does not change the facts.
I've learned......That when you plan to get even with someone, you are only
letting that person continue to hurt you.
I've learned......That love, not time, heals all wounds.
I've learned......That the easiest way for me to grow as a person is to
surround myself with people smarter than I am.
I've learned.....That everyone you meet deserves to be greeted with a smile.
I've learned......That no one is perfect until you fall in love with them.
I've learned.....That life is tough, but I'm tougher.
I've learned......That opportunities are never lost, someone will take the
ones you miss.
I've learned......That when you harbor bitterness, happiness will dock
elsewhere.
I've learned......That I wish I could have told my Mom that I love her one
more time before she passed away.
I've learned......That one should keep his words both soft and tender,
because tomorrow he may have to eat them.
I've learned......That a smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks.
I've learned...... That when your newly born grandchild holds your little
finger in his little fist, that you're hooked for life.
I've learned......That everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but
all the happiness and growth occurs while you're climbing it.
I've learned......That the less time I have to work with, the more things I
get done..
I Own The Fence
There was a large group of people. On one side of the group stood a man,
Jesus. On the other side of the group stood Satan.
Separating them, running through the group, was a fence. The scene set, both
Jesus and Satan began calling to the people in the group and, one by one -
each having made up his or her own mind - each went to either Jesus or
Satan.
This kept going. Soon enough, Jesus had gathered around him a group of
people from the larger crowd, as did Satan.
But one man joined neither group. He climbed the fence that was there and
sat on it.
Then Jesus and His people left and disappeared. So too did Satan and his
people. And the man on the fence sat alone.
As this man sat, Satan came back, looking for something which he appeared to
have lost. The man said, "Have you lost something?"
Satan looked straight at him and replied, "No, there you are. Come with me."
"But", said the man, "I sat on the fence. I chose neither you nor Him."
"That's okay," said Satan. "I own the fence."

With this I'll close for tonight and praying for all of your needs. Haven't
heard yet from Darla. Think I'll call her later. Thanks for praying - let
us continue lifting each other up in prayer. We will never know how much
our prayers have been heard and answered but we know in Faith that they are.
God bless you all - With lots of love - me.
