Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Never let the abundance of gifts from God cause you to forget the Giver.
Lord, may I start and end each day with a thank you to You for all of my
blessings including those which I take for granted.

Scripture for the day:

"This is indeed the will of my Father, that all who see the Son and believe
in him may have eternal life; and I will raise them up on the last day."
~John 6:40

Meditation for the day:

Faith can be the bridge between us and God. It is not possible for all to
be seen and known. We do not see or know directly, but we can experience
the power of God's spirit through our faith. It is the bridge between us
and God, which we can take or not, as we will.
There ould be no morality without free will. We can make the choice
ourselves.
We can make the venture of belief.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may choose and decide to cross the bridge of faith. I pray
that by crossing this bridge I may receive the spiritual power I need.

Hello my friends! Talked to both daughters today - Darla plans on driving
Wed. night thru the night again, airline tickets are too high. She is hoping
Greg can take off work to go with her. Both girls are having hard time of
it. I tried to call Erma today but she wasn't home I heard, and her phone
didn't go to the answering machine. They all were together at one of her
daughter's house and they wrote the obituary. The autopsy should be any time
now. It's been quiet here, and I got some housework done, listening to
Relevant Radio to lift my spirits, it helps. Still through all of this, we
still have blessings. Mass this morning was a blessing, nice visiting with
people after Mass, talking to my girls, and also two cousins, more
blessings, I'm so grateful for my wonderful husband and daughters and for
all of you! I made a pork roast for supper in the crock pot and was it ever
delicious. I started it at 9:30 this morning, and put potatoes and carrots
in it along with the onions. The carrots didn't get done - I won't be
putting them in the crock pot again, I took them out and cooked them on the
stove. Everything was reading when he got home from work - we got the pork
roast at the Farmer's Market - absolutely wonderful! It was such a treat!

Offer It Up

Retell your story of suffering
and loss to Jesus and Mary,
and know that they will listen
as often as you need them to.

A Prayer for Reconciliation

Gracious God,
ruling the earth and its people
not by terror but in love;
we worship you.

We confess that too often
our words hurt others
and our deeds are selfish;
forgive us.

In this time of uncertainty and fear,
help us to love our enemies
and do good to those who hate us,
in the name of Jesus our Lord.

Amen.

God is never wrong

A king who did not believe in the goodness of God, had a slave who, in all
circumstances, said: My king, do not be discouraged, because everything God
does is perfect, no mistakes!

One day they went hunting and along the way a wild animal attacked the king.
His slave managed to kill the animal, but could not prevent his majesty
losing a finger.

Furious and without showing his gratitude for being saved, the nobleman said
"Is God good? If He was good, I would not have been attacked and lost my
finger."

The slave replied: "My king, despite all these things, I can only tell you
that God is good, and he knows "why" of all these things. What God does is
perfect. He is never wrong!"

Outraged by the response, the king ordered the arrest of his slave.

Later, he left for another hunt and was captured by savages who made human
sacrifices.

In the altar, ready to sacrifice the nobleman, the savages found that the
victim had not one of his fingers, so he was released. According to them, it
was not so complete to be offered to the gods.

Upon his return to the palace, he authorized the release of his slave that
he received very affectionately.

"My dear, God was really good to me! I was almost killed by the wild men,
but for lack of a single finger, I was let go! But I have a question: if God
is so good, why did he allow me to put you in jail?"

"My King, if I had gone with you in this hunt, I would have been sacrificed
for you, because I have no missing finger, therefore, remember everything
God does is perfect. He is never wrong."

Often we complain about life, and negative things that happen to us,
forgetting that nothing is random and that everything has a purpose.

Every morning, offer your day to God, don't be in a rush.

Ask God to inspire your thoughts, guide your actions, and ease your
feelings. And do not be afraid. God is never wrong!

You know why this message is for you? I do not know, but God knows, because
he never makes mistakes.......

The path of God and his word is perfect, without impurities. He is the way
of all those who trust in Him.

What you do with this message is up to you. May God put in your heart the
desire to send it to someone. God knows why He choose you to receive this
message. Please bless someone with it.

God is never wrong

You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in
your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.
Psalm 139:16

Captured

The rosy sunset began seeping across the sky. I quickly grabbed the
camera, excited for an opportunity to capture and hold onto the
glorious sight.

The camera had come with an instruction manual. The section on how to
best photograph subjects and landscapes, etc., was spelled out in
great detail. The thick booklet described how to capture the moment.

Today, at the grocery store, I saw a pre-schooler in the parking
lot. She was bent over, completely fascinated by something on the
ground. Maybe a bug, or a leaf, or a rock, or a piece of paper.
Whatever it was, she was trying, without success, to get her mother’s
attention to come look at it.

The child was oblivious to the fact that Mom wanted to get into the
store and get the grocery shopping done, back home, unpacked, and put
away. She did not realize Mom had many other things to do today, She
was totally captured by the moment.

God is in every moment we have. How awesome to be so enthralled with
the moment. There used to be a phrase, “Stop and smell the roses.”
Each moment is truly a gift from the Lord.

Today, may I be filled with gratitude, to my Creator, and see the
beauty and awe of “the moment”, and capture and savor the gift.

Hope your weather is good wherever you are - please say a prayer for Darla's
safety again as she travels home for the funeral. Let us continue to pray
for one another - and may God bless you all!
