Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Faith lifts us from the realm of the impossible to the possible. Lord,
thank you
for the gift of Faith. It fills the shadows in my life with sunshine and
removes
the despair of hopelessness.

"The high priest questioned them, saying, 'We gave you strict orders not to
teach in this name, yet here you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching
and you are determined to bring this man's blood on us.' But Peter and the
apostles answered, "We must obey God rather than any human authority."
~Acts 5:27-29

Pride can stand sentinel at the door of the heart and shut out the love of
God. God dwells with the humble and the obedient. Obedience to God's will
is the key that unlocks the door. We cannot obey God to the best of our
ability without in time realizing God's love and responding to that love.
The rough stone steps of obedience can lead up to where the mosaic floor of
love and joy is laid. Where God's spirit is, there is our home.

I pray that God may make a home in my humble and obedient heart. I pray
that I may obey God's guidance to the best of my ability.

Hello my friends! Today was just an ordinary day but we were invited out
for supper at our friends, Ray and Ann, our best friends here. Wonderful,
simple meal - veggies over rice and a delicious salad - followed by cards -
a very nice evening. Linus worked and he came home very tired, but this was
very enjoyable for him as well. He works tomorrow yet, then he's off until
next Monday - fishing is in his mind now with his brother. Ray and Ann are
such a blessing to us ever since we moved here 8 years ago! I thank and
praise our God for our many blessings He gives us daily!!

God's Reason

I don't know how to say it
But somehow it seems to me
That maybe we are stationed,
Where God wants us to be.

That little place we're filling
Is the reason for our birth
And just to do the work we do
He sent us down earth.

If God had wanted otherwise
I'd reckon He'd have made
Each one of us a little different
Of a worse or better grade.

And since God knows and understand
All things of land and sea
I fancy that He placed us here
Just where He wanted us to be.

Sometimes we get to thinking
As our labors we review
That we should like a higher place
With greater things to do.

But we come to the conclusion
When the envying is stilled~
That the post to which God has sent us
Is the post He wanted filled.

And there isn't any service
That we honestly can scorn~
For it may just be the reason
God allowed us to be born.

New Year Alphabet

Almighty Creator of the Universe,
Beloved Father, God,
Create in me a clean heart this new year.
Deliver me from the temptations of the ego.
Exalt your presence in my mind.
Forgive all that I have held against you, myself and others.
Grant me peace this day and this new year.
Hold me steadfastly within the boundaries of your truth.
Inspire my heart to know you, my ears to hear you, and my eyes to recognize
you.
Justify me in the presence of all enemies.
Knead my heart with words of kindness.
Let no harm befall me or my loved ones.
May all I do this day glorify you.
Nourish me with your wisdom.
Open my mind to know your truth.
Purge my heart of all things that are offensive to your law.
Quiet my soul in the midst of confusion.
Renew my connection to you.
Save me from evil influences.
Teach me to trust you at all times.
Use all that you have given me to serve you.
Victory for your cause is my desire.
Walk with me so that my strength will never be diminished.
eXamine my heart continually.
Your love and grace are my good fortune.
Zealously I commit myself to your will forever.

WHEN YOU THOUGHT I WASN'T LOOKING

When you thought I wasn't looking, by a Child

A message every parent should read, because your children are
watching and doing as you do, not as you say.

"When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you hang my first painting
on the refrigerator, and I immediately wanted to paint another one.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you feed a stray cat, and I
learned that it was good to be kind to animals.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you make my favorite cake
for me and I learned that little things can be the special things in
life.

When you though I wasn't looking, I heard you say a prayer, and I
knew there is a God I could always talk to and I learned to trust in
God.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you make a meal and take it
to a friend who was sick, and I learned that we all have to help take
care of
each other.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you give of your time and
money to help people who had nothing and I learned that those who have
something should give to those who don't.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I felt you kiss me good night and
I felt loved and safe.

When you though I wasn't looking, I saw you take care of our house
and everyone in it and I learned we have to take care of what we are
given.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw how you handled your
responsibilities, even when you didn't feel good and I learned that I
would have to be responsible when I grow up.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw tears come from your eyes
and I learned that sometimes things hurt, but its all right to cry.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw that you cared and I wanted
to be everything that I could be.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I learned most of life's lessons
that I need to know to be good and productive person when I grow up.

"What are our real trials? By what name shall we call them? One cuts herself
out a cross of pride; another, on of causeless discontent; another, one of
restless impatience or peevish fretfulness. Yet we know certainly that our
God calls us to a holy life, that he gives us every grace, every abundant
grace; and though we are weak of ourselves, this grace is able to carry us
through every obstacle and difficulty."
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton

For Reflection:
Have I cut out a cross for myself - one that I have fashioned rather than
the Lord? Could this be why this cross is so heavy? Today, I will lay down
before our Lord this cross of my own fashioning, knowing and trusting that
He is giving me the grace to carry the cross He has placed upon my shoulder.

Wishing you all a very good night and blessed Tuesday - and hope to see your
posts! This thread would be nothing if it wasn't for your posts!! Thank
you so much! You are all such a blessing to me!
