Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Hello my friends! Today's blessings include a very nice day out yet, we can enjoy it as much as we can, frost is foretasted by the end of the week, maybe even before. I was inspired during prayer today to start a prayer line for Viewpoints with promises to pray for their intentions. Feel free to both put a prayer request in there and offer a prayer as you feel led to. I have no idea how long this will be there before it gets poofed, but as long as it's still there, we can use it, another blessing. I have a notebook and wrote down everyone's requests for prayer. Now another blessing is that we are getting our apples ripe and soon I'll be freezing them again! I slice them with the peeling on, in the food processor, and freeze in bags, when I use them, I can either make a pie, apple crisp or just fried apples with cinnamon and that is delicious too! Praying for you all!

Never tell yourself that it is "I" who has done all of this for me.

Lord, I pray and give thanks because it is You who has given me

the abilities and talents that I have to do all that I do.

Scripture for the day:

"Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens,

and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me;

for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your

souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." ~Matthew

11:28-30

Meditation for the day:

Our spiritual life depends upon the unseen. To live the spiritual

life we can believe in the unseen. We can try not to lose the

consciousness of God's spirit in us and in others. As a child in its

mother's arms, we can stay sheltered in the understanding and love of

God. God can relieve us of the weight of worry and care, misery and

depression, want and woe, faintness and heartache, if we will allow

it. We can lift up our eyes from earth's troubles and view the glory

of the unseen God. Each day we can try to see more good in people,

more of the unseen in the seen.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may rest and abide in the presence of the unseen God. I

pray that I may leave my burdens in God's care.

Hello my friends! How was your day today? Hope you were able to keep it

positive.

Mine was just ordinary, but I did get invited to go to my sister's for Labor

day as all my sister's are going there - this is to my oldest sister's place

and wouldn't you know it, DH has to work. But Lori said she'd take me as she

believes I should be there with my sisters. She loves her aunts too. She is

such a honey! And quite a blessing to us!!

After I get this out, I'll be calling Darla. Darla text Lori saying we can

call her after ten when she gets home from teaching her class. This was her

second class.

I miss her already.

What are your blessings?

Hope you have many to share with us!

Mother Teresa Said...

"Like Jesus, who submitted Himself to the common law of labor

and the common lot of the poor, we will not seek any special privileges

or treatment for ourselves, but be happy to be treated as one of the poor,

ready to be insulted, ill-treated, refused, blamed falsely,

or put into all kinds of inconveniences.

We shall not seek to defend ourselves,

but leave our defense to the Lord.

We will not worry about tomorrow

but will live the present moment intensely

with complete trust in God."

GOD'S HOLD IS SURE

There were two brethren who differed on the question of the believer's

safety in Christ. They were discussing the question, and one said to the

other:

"I'll tell you, a child of God is safe only so long as he stays in the

lifeboat. He may jump out, and if he jumps out he is lost."

To this the other replied, saying: "You remind me of an incident in my own

life. I took my little son out with me in a boat. I realized, as he did not,

the danger of his falling or even jumping into the water. So I sat with him

all the time, and all the time I held him fast, so he could neither fall out

nor jump out of the boat."

"But," said the first speaker, "He could have wriggled out of his coat and

got away in spite of you."

"Oh," said the other, "you misunderstood me if you supposed I was holding

his coat; I was holding him."

THE SOURCE

By Sally I. Kennedy

Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that

has been made. John 1:3

Sometimes when hiking, we try to take a trail that leads to a

waterfall. I’ve loved each of the few we’ve ever seen. A trickling

peaceful waterfall, tumbling down slippery rocks. One that thunders

and is powerful and majestic. A waterfall that splashes in a swift

current below over time-worn boulders, to meet up downstream with yet

another river.

I’d never seen the source of any of the waterfalls, until this one

particular day. The trail zig-zagged up a wooded hillside, then a

rocky, open area. A sign here and there prodded us onward and upward,

to catch a glimpse of the Top-of-the-Waterfall.

We were rewarded with the most glorious sight, the place where the

waterfall begins. From the waterfalls we’d seen before, we knew of

course that they started somewhere. There was a source, even though we

couldn’t see it.

HEAVEN'S GROCERY STORE

Author Unknown

As I was walking down life's

highway many years ago

I came upon a sign that read

Heavens Grocery Store.

When I got a little closer

the doors swung open wide

And when I came to myself

I was standing inside.

I saw a host of angels.

They were standing everywhere

One handed me a basket and said

"My child, shop with care."

Everything a human needed

was in that grocery store

And what you could not carry

you could come back for more.

First I got some Patience.

Love was in that same row.

Further down was Understanding,

you need that everywhere you go.

I got a box or two of Wisdom

and Faith a bag or two.

And Charity, of course,

I would need some of that, too.

I couldn't miss the Holy Ghost

It was all over the place.

And then some Strength and Courage

to help me run this race.

My basket was getting full but I remembered I needed Grace,

And then I chose Salvation for

Salvation was for free

I tried to get enough of that to do for you and me.

Then I started to the counter

to pay my grocery bill,

For I thought I had everything

to do the Masters will.

As I went up the aisle I saw

Prayer and put that in,

For I knew when I stepped outside

I would run into sin.

Peace and Joy were plentiful,

the last things on the shelf.

Song and Praise were hanging near

so I just helped myself.

Then I said to the angel

"How much do I owe?"

He smiled and said

"Just take them everywhere you go."

Again I asked "Really now,

how much do I owe?"

"My child " he said,

"God paid your bill a long, long time ago."

The Birth of Mary

Thy birth, O Virgin Mother of God,

heralded joy to all the world.

For from thou hast risen the Sun of justice,

Christ our God.

Destroying the curse, He gave blessing;

and damning death, He bestowed on us

life everlasting.

Blessed art thou among women

and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.

For from thou hast risen of Sun of justice,

Christ our God.

Mother Teresa Said...

Surely if God feeds the young ravens which cry to Him, if He nourishes the

birds which neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, if He vests the

flowers of the field so beautifully, how much more will He care for men whom

He has made in His own image and likeness and adopted as His children, if we

only act as such.

with Your love and then order me to do whatever You wish.

Gloria, I would love to sink my teeth into that apple pie, I love apple pie. We also have had a nice couple of cool days, got to turn the air conditioner off and open the windows to get some fresh air in the house.

Lucy, praying for your family hope everything works out all right.

Counting my blessings, and blessings to all.

I love apple pie. We used to have an apple tree in our back yard when I was a child. My mom would make dozens of apple pies and freeze them. They were so good.

Blessings to all here and those who read.

May Jesus answer your prayers.

I'm still waiting on you to send me people who need prayer. I'm ready to pray for them.

That was a beautiful picture of Mary you posted yesterday.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Good morning!

I had the grandsons last night so I had to get them off to school this morning. They are so precious.

Gloria, I like the idea of the prayer request. Lord knows here lately I've had a lot to post about! lol It is getting apple picking season. I don't care for apples so I don't cook them. My Mother use to can and dry apples. She's been dead since 1988. I have a jar of apples she canned, probably in the early 80's. I know to some it may seem silly to hold onto that jar full of old apples, but for me, my Mama is there. The time she took to peel the apples, wash the jars, cook the fruit, the time it took to make sure all was sanitary and just right. Naw...not throwing that jar away.

Harlene, hope you are doing well this morning. Thanks for the prayers. I'm looking at the birthday card you sent my husband, my grandsons liked the ship. You are one talented lady.

Bobbisue, blessings to you. I also hope you are doing well.

I've got house chores to do, sound fun? Well come on over and we'll have a ball! lol

Continue your prayers for this world. I know the Lord has his plan, it is written. For those that believe, we know the ending.

Have a happy day. Peace and blessings to all.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Hello To All!

Gloria, you have apples too!! I have an apple tree and it's the time to harvest what's left of the yield before the squirrels and any wild parrots get all of it. My apple tree is not like those from cold country, it's hybridized to grow here in the warm weather. I like apples. Saw your thread over on Viewpoints but it vanished. It's here on this forum now and I don't feel it will be deleted.

My blessings are many but it was nice to hear from a girlfriend yesterday, my kitchen curtains arrived, my husband stayed home to be with me yesterday.

I hold all in my highest thoughts and meditative prayers. I daily give thanks for all my blessings and this nation. We are all so very blessed to live here and now. Be at peace and know that you are loved.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Harlene - I haven't made the apple pies yet, but your posts about it make me want to start in!! We have two apple trees, they are dwarf ones, but they give plenty of apples. We have an apricot tree that only blossoms, and gives us nothing! It's been cool here all summer, only had the AC on three times! Praying for a mild winter, in spite of what I hear.

Bobbiesue - I used to make a lot of apple pies and freeze them too. Last year I made apple crisp, but froze the sliced apples and take out when ready to use, works too.

Lucy - I wouldn't discard that jar of apples your Mom canned either. That is precious! I never dried apples though, mostly freeze them after sliced in the food processor! I like the idea of a prayer thread too - it's too bad Viewpoints deleted it - but I hope we can keep it here. I started it there so people who need prayers can use it while it lasted, and they did. Now they know where to come for prayers. Here or the prayer thread. Great graphics again!! Love it!

Love Roses - the squirrels leave the apples alone, but when we tried to grow corn the other year, they ate it all, so we won't be doing that again! They must be very hungry for corn! You have wild parrots? That must be very pretty to see, right? Wish we had some parrots to come in our bird feeders. That would be fun to see. Once in a while a woodpecker comes. Love hearing about your blessings - bet those curtains are very nice.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Harlene, I don't know just where you are, but it is predicted to be another harsh winter. I hate cold and winter. I'm going to stock up on food so I can avoid going out so much. Please be prepared to pay a lot more money for milk. It is skyrocketing. I am buying some powered milk to prepare. There is a blood moon on the 8th of Oct. Bad sign I am told. Don't know much about blood moons. Stock up on food.

Bobbiesue - I wouldn't worry about that moon. God is in control - He's always with us.

Hi Bobbiesue: I don't know anything about a blood moon, but Oct. 8 is my daughter's birthday.

I always have powdered milk here, because I only go grocery shopping every 2 weeks, and I mostly use almond milk. So I use the powdered milk when I run out of almond milk.
Blessings to all who visit here.
