Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Be yourself in all that you do and you will soon learn that you are very
special. Lord, help me find the peace that You have already placed within
my soul.

"Blessed is anyone who endures temptation. Such a one has stood the
test and will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to
those who love him." ~James 1:12

M E D I T A T I O N F O R T H E D A Y

None of us entirely escape temptation. We can expect it and be ready
for it when it comes. None of us are entirely safe. We can try to
keep our defenses up by daily thought and prayer. That is why we
spend time in prayer each day. We can become able to recognize
temptation when it comes. The first step toward conquering temptation
always is to see it clearly as temptation and not to harbor it in our
minds. We can dissociate ourselves from it, put it out of our mind as
soon as it appears. We need not think of excuses for yielding to it.
We can turn at once to God for help.

I pray that I may be prepared for whatever temptation may come to me.
I pray that I may see it clearly and conquer it with the help of God.

Peace of Jesus to you all! Hope you all had a good Monday today - for me it
was busy - and it was a good thing my dear husband was home as he picked all
the apples, and cut them for me, and I used the food processor to slice them
all and some grated for muffins or pancakes, and I froze them. One last
batch I made Apple Crisp - having company tomorrow night - I made it with
the tablespoon of stevia - it's a big pan. The man has diabetes, so not
using sugar, this way we all can enjoy it, Linus included. These are former
neighbors of ours from our other house. They moved to this town too. She's
the one who told me about Georgia and what a blessing she is. I'm so glad
we have the apples done now and in the freezer, and the little bit of
tomatoes we had are in the freezer too so nothing is going to get spoiled.
I froze the raspberries all except today's picking. Now I am very tired and
my upper back hurts, but thanks be to God Linus helped me with it all, even
the cleaning up! This morning I did break down and went to the Dr. and got
some anti-biotic for my infection. It's been on and off for a week now so
thought this should put it all to a stop. What I really like about our
clinic is that it's a lot holistic - don't get drugs pushed on you, all for
the natural remedies, and that little ounce bottle is gone now, and the
Nurse Practitioner told us where we can go to get more. There's a Natural
Pharmacy in our town he led us to - it's very nice and I bought the extra
little bottle to have on hand. Was told there to take it at the very first
sign of an infection coming. It was a blessing this morning to be there and
get so much help and information. All in all it was a profitable day for
me. Tomorrow - relax and play cards with a new couple in our card club.

Listening: This Chance May Be Your Last!
by Monsignor Dennis Clark, Ph.D.
Ez 1:1-6 / Lk 8:16-18

Today’s gospel ends with an enigmatic last line that lays itself open to
confusion. “o the one who has, more will be given; and he who has not,
will lose even the little he thinks he has.” That sounds like the worst side
of capitalism: The rich get richer and the poor get poorer. But it’s not.

The whole thing comes clear if we pay attention to the beginning of the
sentence which says, “Take heed how you hear….” Jesus is telling us that if
we listen to Him with open minds and open hearts, the tiny bit of wisdom and
understanding that we’ve already gained will grow and grow with His help.
If, on the other hand, our hearts are closed to Him, even the little bit of
wisdom that we think we’ve got will be shown for what it is: nothing.

So many thousands of people heard Jesus speak God’s Good News “in the
flesh,” and yet so many of them just walked away for any number of
“reasons.” We can always find a “reason” for stalling or putting off our
listening to Him until tomorrow. When we’re tempted to do that, we would do
well to ask how many more opportunities we’re certain of having. The correct
answer is: None! So seize the opportunity while it’s at hand! You’ll never
regret it!

Mother Teresa Said... (This got poofed on Viewpoints!)
“Smile at each other,
smile at your wife, smile at your husband,
smile at your children, smile at each other
-- it doesn't matter who it is --
and that will help you to grow up
in greater love for each other.”

THE STORY OF PEARLS
Author Unknown

Pearls are a product of pain. When a grain of sand pierces the shell
of an oyster, all the otherwise dormant resources within the tiny
oyster respond to the foreign irritant by caring for that sensitive
spot. Over time, the sand particle is covered by healing fluids, and
the wound becomes a pearl.

That's true for you, too. When hardships invade your life, allow God's
Spirit to shape your response. Don't be bitter. Don't rush ahead of
His plan. Rest in Him. Allow Him time to turn that irritation into an
opportunity for your growth - and watch a beautiful pearl emerge from
your set of circumstances.

"My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let
patience have her perfect work, that you may be perfect and entire,
wanting nothing." - James 1:2-4 (KJV)

"When you flee temptation, be sure you don't leave a forwarding
address."

Joy Without and Joy Within
By: Janet E. Stuart

To be a joy-bearer and a joy-giver says everything,
for in our life, if one is joyful, it means that one is
faithfully living for God, and that nothing else counts.

And if one gives joy to others, one is doing God's
work; with joy without and joy within, all is well.

Father, praising You and rejoicing in You must be high
on our priority list. Proclaiming Your love to others must
never be lacking in our lives.Thank You that we are able to
rejoice in You! Amen.

Prayer for Protection
Lord,
keep me safe from the pain and grief that sin brings,
from the dangers that I can't see,
or the ones that I think I can risk because of my experience (pride &
carelessness).
Put up a supernatural barrier.
Protect me, Father, by your power!
Amen

Good night everyone - Sweet dreams - Enjoy Tuesday - brought to us by Our
Lord - with His blessings! God bless you all!
