When children speak, listen. They freely share the joys of life that we
are often too preoccupied to remember. Lord, help me bring back those
qualities that I had as a child that would allow me to be more lighthearted,
more playful and more determined to live happy.

Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. James 4:8
M E D I T A T I O N F O R T H E D A Y
The grace of God can cure disharmony and disorder in human
relationships. We can directly put our affairs, with their confusion
and their difficulties into God's hands. God can begin to effect a
cure of
all the disharmony and disorder. We can believe that God will cause
us no more pain in the doing of it than a physician, who plans and
knows that he can effect a cure, would cause his patient. We can have
faith that God will do all that is necessary as painlessly as
possible. We can become willing to submit to God's treatment, even if
we cannot now see the meaning purpose of it.

I pray that I may willingly submit to whatever spiritual discipline is
necessary. I pray that I may accept whatever it takes to live a
better life.
Hello my friends! How was your day? Mine was full of unexpected blessings -
it was not ordinary! First off, Darla came and Lori was coming here for
lunch. What I didn't know was that Darla was going to do all the cooking
which she did, both meals, and they were excellent! Remember she's
vegetarian, and she's always cooking up some good recipe she finds in her
cookbooks. It was Indian food - from India and very tasty! Then she went to
get her hair cut - right after lunch - and here Sammy starts making weird
noises, so I have to look what that's about and a little Chihuahua, white,
was in our yard, lost. I took Sammy with the leash to see it - he's a boy,
and he was so friendly and wanted to come in the house. I let him in the
porch and gave him some water, and he didn't want to leave anymore. He was
out a few times later, but always barked to come in. Then Darla came home
and she looked up his tag, read the number to me, got on line to the City
here and got the phone number, and when I gave them the number, they found
that the dog lives blocks away on our street. So they called the owner, the
owner came to get him, said his name was Pedro. He asked if he bit - I said
no, he was friendly, and he was surprised because he can be a little biter!
That was my exciting day!! Linus and his brother, Ron, worked all day on
Lori's deck - will finish it tomorrow. The deck is now up so you can walk on
it from the dining area patio door. She called to say Phoebe, the cat, was
so surprised she couldn't go just right outside in the grass, she was
meowing all over the deck! Said it was really funny!! Tomorrow they will
put the railings on and it's finished. Then Linus works hard - 4 days in a
row and we'll count on your prayers!

True Love Is Faithful to the End
by Monsignor Dennis Clark, Ph.D.
Acts 3:1-10/ Gal 1:11-20/ Jn 21:15-19
Love, they say, makes the world go round. But what is it? Those warm,
mushy feelings that well up inside us? Those tears that flow when we watch
our first communicants walk up the aisle in the little white suits and
dresses? No, those moments are charming, but they’re not love. They’re
sentimentality, which comes and goes faster than we’d care to admit.
Love has a different shape. It’s a determined desiring of the best for the
other, and a willingness to do whatever is necessary to make the best
happen. In sum, true love, by definition, is faithful and has no limits.
In today’s gospel, Jesus — in the time after His resurrection — asks Peter
three times whether he loves Him. The repeated question was an echo of the
three times that Peter had denied even knowing Jesus. How those questions
must have seared his heart!
But those three questions are for us too. They’re probing the seriousness
of our commitment to the Lord. It’s highly unlikely that any of us will be
called to witness to our faith by martyrdom. But every one of us is called
to witness our love for Jesus daily by being true to the mission He’s given
us.
Be like Peter, a man who made monumental mistakes, but knew how to go
forward. Be faithful now in your love of our good Lord Jesus.
Mother Teresa Said...
"To join the congregation we need few things.
We need health of mind and body.
We need the ability to learn.
We need plenty of common sense
and a cheerful disposition.
I think common sense and cheerfulness
are very necessary for a wok like this."
Five More Minutes
While at the park one day, a woman sat down next to a man on a
bench near a playground. "That's my son over there," she said,
pointing to a little boy in a red sweater who was gliding down
the slide.
"He's a fine looking boy," the man said. "That's my son on the
swing in the blue sweater." Then, looking at his watch, he
called to his son. "What do you say we go, Todd?"
Todd pleaded, "Just five more minutes, Dad. Please? Just five
more minutes." The man nodded and Todd continued to swing to
his heart's content.
Minutes passed and the father stood and called again to his son.
"Time to go now?" Again Todd pleaded, "Five more minutes, Dad.
Just five more minutes."
The man smiled and said, "O.K."
"My, you certainly are a patient father," the woman responded.
The man smiled and then said, "My older son Tommy was killed by
a drunk driver last year while he was riding his bike near here.
I never spent much time with Tommy and now I'd give anything for
just five more minutes with him. I've vowed not to make the same
mistake with Todd. He thinks he has five more minutes to swing.
The truth is, I get Five more minutes to watch him play."

God Is Good
A short, true story
There was an old man at our church who had loved God all of his life. This
man John, walked around saying "God is Good". He said it all the time,
whenever and wherever he was. When John got married he said, "God is Good".
When John lost his job he said, "God is Good". When John's father died he
said, "God is Good". When Johns wallet got stolen he said, "God is Good".
Well, you get the idea, no matter what John did, or what happened to him, we
would always hear him say, "God is Good".
A few months ago, John was diagnosed with cancer. The disease had spread
rapidly and he was told by his doctor he'd have only a few weeks to live.
Still, even on his death bed, John could be heard by everyone in the
hospital
repeating his famous line, "God is Good".
Our pastor Charles was Johns best friend. Charles went everyday to visit
John in the hospital. And every night before Charles left John would tell
him, "God is Good".
Finally after weeks of watching his best friend get worse and worse from his
terminal disease, Charles just could not stand it any longer and asked John,
" John you are my best friend and I love you. I love the Lord as much as you
do, too. I have listened to you say that God is Good your whole life.
Through the good times, maybe I can understand you saying how good God is.
Maybe even through the hard times, to help yourself cope. But now, laying
here on your death bed, how can you be so optimistic? How can you say 'God
is good' every day when you know he is letting you die?"
John just looked at Charles and smiled.
"Dear friend, don't you see all of those times I was saying God was Good, it
was my way of praising him in the little way I could. And look what my
reward
is for remaining faithful, I am dying. You say God is letting me die as if
that is a bad thing. Charles, have you forgotten that is our goal. To live
our life for Him, and join him one day in heaven. See, GOD IS GOOD! He has
finally called me home and in a few hours I will be with Him. I can't
imagine anything greater than that."
John died that night in his sleep. Charles stood up and said only two things
at John's funeral: "I will miss my friend but I know I will see him again
one day soon, and GOD IS GOOD."
Let us praise the Lord in everything that comes our way for
our reward will be great in Heaven...
TWENTY ONE THOUGHTS TO LIVE BY
Author Unknown
ONE. Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully.

conversational skills will be as important as any other.

want.
FOUR. When you say, 'I love you,' mean it.
FIVE. When you say, 'I'm sorry,' look the person in the eye.
SIX. Be engaged at least six months before you get married.
SEVEN. Believe in love at first sight.

great risk.
FIFTEEN. Say 'bless you' when you hear someone sneeze.
SIXTEEN. When you lose, don't lose the lesson.
SEVENTEEN. Remember the three R's: Respect for self; Respect for
others; and Responsibility for all your actions.

NINETEEN. When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps
to correct it.
