Daily Positive Thread for Thursday

Fears cannot survive without your full attention. Lord, help me to face
my fears, realize that they are not as big as I imagine and see that their
main purpose is to stop me from action.

Scripture for the day:

"I give thanks to my God always for you because of the grace of God
that has been given you in Christ Jesus, for in every way you have
been enriched in him, in speech and knowledge of every kind--just as
the testimony of Christ has been strengthened among you--so that you
are not lacking in any spiritual gift as you wait for the revealing of our
Lord Jesus Christ." ~1 Corinthians 1:4-7

Meditation for the day:

It is not so much us, as the grace of God that is in us, that helps
those around us. If we help even those we dislike, we can see that
there is nothing in us to block the way, to keep God's grace from
using us. Our own pride and selfishness are the greatest blocks. We
can keep those out of the way and God's grace can flow through us into
the lives of others. Then all who come in contact with us can be
helped in some way. We can keep the channel open, free from those
things that make our
life futile and ineffective.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that all who come in contact with me will feel better for it.
I pray that I may be careful not to harbor those things in my heart
that put people off.

Greetings my friends! Beautiful day here in MN! First blessing started off
with Mass this morning - we go when we can depending how tired he is from
work - it worked out this morning. Tomorrow we plan on going to the
Cathedral at noon. Another blessing is we got more garden tilled today so
tomorrow when he has off he's planting tomatoes and corn, and more potaotes
in another spot. Our garden has expanded! I do hope that will help with
our grocery bills. Remember my long lost friend I've been trying to find -
Dani? Well now on Facebook she and I are playing Scrabble and chatting once
in a while. She's been so sick with pneumonia and is recuperating now so
has time to play Scrabble otherwise she's busy working. She is a cancer
survivor! Praise God! I'm praying for all of your intentions and placing
them all in the Heart of Mary who is the great interceder. May you all find
many blessings - and joys that you know come from Him!

The Sign of the cross - Meditation
When we bless ourselves with the sign of the cross, we should take advantage
of this opportunity to meditate the passion of Christ.

As I bless myself with the sign of the cross, I clothe my soul with the holy
wounds of Jesus Christ who died for my sins. The image of my soul which has
been destroyed by sin receives restoration and protection from my Lord and
Saviour.

"Lord Jesus Christ imprint upon my soul your most holy wounds, so that I may
be purified from all my sinfulness, deliver me Lord from all evil."

In the name of the Father,

I bless my soul with the holy wounds of the sacred head of Jesus and the
sufferings of His holy mind, so that I may always keep my soul in the
Presence of God.

In the name of the Son,

I bless my soul with the wounds of His sacred feet, so that I may always
walk in the path of Salvation and proclaim the Word of God to others.

In the name of the Holy Spirit,

I bless my soul with the wounds of His sacred hands, that I may always do
the work of God.

God Forgives

One night in a church service a young woman felt the tug of God at her
heart. She responded to God's call and accepted Jesus as her Lord and
Savior. The young woman had a very rough past, involving alcohol, drugs,
and prostitution. But, the change in her was evident. As time went on she
became a faithful member of the church. She eventually became involved in
the ministry, teaching young children. It was not very long until this
faithful young woman had caught the eye and heart of the pastor's son. The
relationship grew and they began to make wedding plans. This is when the
problems began. You see, about one half of the church did not think that a
woman with a past such as hers was suitable for a pastor's son.

The church began to argue and fight about the matter. So they decided
to have a meeting. As the people made their arguments and tensions
increased, the meeting was getting completely out of hand. The young woman
became very upset about all the things being brought up about her past. As
she began to cry the pastor's son stood to speak. He could not bear the
pain it was causing his wife to be. He began to speak and his statement was
this: "My fiancee's past is not what is on trial here. What you are
questioning is the ability of the blood of Jesus to wash away sin."

"Today you have put the blood of Jesus on trial. So, does it wash away
sin or not?" The whole church began to weep as they realized that they had
been slandering the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Too often, even as
Christians, we bring up the past and use it as a weapon against our brothers
and sisters. Forgiveness is a very foundational part of the Gospel of our
Lord Jesus Christ. If the blood of Jesus does not cleanse the other person
completely then it cannot cleanse us completely. If that is the case, then
we are all in a lot of trouble. What can wash away my sins?... Nothing but
the blood of Jesus! End of case!!!!

God's Table Manners

You undoubtedly felt awkward the first time you had to learn which fork to
use. But with that knowledge you can enter any dining experience with
confidence. The same is true when you dine at God's table. At first it seems
difficult. But learning the right manners makes it possible for you to be in
any situation and please the Father.

Table manners at God's table:

* You have to do your own chewing. Too many Christians expect God to take
out a spoon and dish up the blessing for them. He is supposed to place it in
our mouths, work our jaws to chew it up, and help us swallow it. We want God
to do everything. The fact is that you have responsibility in God's
sovereign world.

* Accept the seating. Take the lowest seat, the seat of humility and
service. If God wants you to sit higher up, He will show you that, but err
on the side of humility, not pride.

* Finish the meal. John 3:16 tells us, "God so loved the world, that He gave
His only begotten Son." Some believe that because God has already come and
died for the sins of the world, they don't have to do anything else.
However, it's important to finish the phrase regarding man's responsibility:
"whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life." You
must come to Him in order to receive the forgiveness that He purchased for
you.

* Read the menu. You must spend time reading what God has prepared. Read
your Bible, meditate on the Word. It will give you strength and illumination
according to God's plan for your life. It will keep you on course and remind
you of your responsibilities in order to fulfill the plan of God.

* Count the fruit. If you are not willing to bear fruit for Him, then He is
not obligated to answer your requests, even if you ask things in His name.
Jesus declares, "Everyone that the Father gives me will come to me, and
anyone who comes to me I will never drive away" (John 6:37). The Holy Spirit
inspires us to go to Jesus and do what He asks of us. His sovereignty makes
the first move toward us, but because He gave us free will, we must move
toward Him as well.

If You've Ever Been In Love...

Think back (for some of you this will take longer than others) to when
you met that man/woman that you just knew would be the one. Remember
when you realized/admitted to yourself that you loved him/her. Now
remember how much you wanted to act like you were in a movie, and yell
to everyone in the football stadium "I love (fill in the name)!!!!"
You told family and friends how perfect he was. You told your boys how
she was just what you were looking for.

Well, I told THE LORD I loved Him today. And He said to me, "How much
do you love me? You haven't told anyone how good I've been to you. You
haven't shared how perfect my love is. You haven't spread the good
news that I am always there to listen to your problems. You haven't
told your family how I helped you pay your bills when you didn't have
a high paying job, or how I got you a better one. You didn't tell your
boys how I took away that addiction that would have cost you not only
your job, but that woman that was just what you were looking for. So
how much do you really love me?

So, I said I would share with my friends and family (for starters)
just how wonderful, perfect, understanding, patient, loving,
unselfish, considerate and forgiving GOD really is. He has blessed me
with a family that loves me and friends that I can confide in. But
even more than that He has saved me from a destruction I couldn't even
see coming. He gave to me the peace of knowing Him and He has never
broken a promise. Truly He is the best thing that has ever happened to
me. And I stand in my stadium today to yell to you all "I love THE
LORD!!!"

PHYSICAL HEALING PRAYER

" Jesus, you are the wounded healer, heal me through your wounds. You are
the God, the Ultimate, who alone can heal me. You are my Divine medicine. O!
Lord! Just say one word, and I shall be healed. Jesus, forgive all my sins
and iniquities through your bloodshed. Have mercy on all my ancestors. O!
Jesus! Send your Holy Spirit upon me and liberate me from all bondage.
Jesus, my only Savior, deliver me from all my sins and sickness. Mother
Mary, mother of good health, I cry out to you for your prayers for the mercy
of your Son to heal me right now! Thank you Mother Mary, Thank you Jesus,
Thank you Abba Father, and Thank you Holy Spirit. Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Hallelujah!"

A Prayer to Our Lady in Time of Trouble

Holy Virgin Mary, you are reigning in glory, with Jesus, your Son.
Remember us in our sadness. Look kindly on all who are suffering
or fighting against any difficulty.
Have pity on those who are separated from someone they love.
Have pity on the loneliness of our hearts.
Have pity on the weakness of our faith and love.
Have pity on those who are weeping, on those who are praying, on those who
are fearful.
Holy Mother, please obtain for all of us hope and peace with justice.
Amen.

Jesus, I want to help you

May I become at all times,
both now and forever
A protector for those
without protection
A guide for those
who have lost their way
A ship for those with ocean to cross
A bridge for those with rivers to cross
A sanctuary for those in danger
A lamp for those without light
A place of refuge
for those who lack shelter
and a servant to all in need.

God's Gifts

At times I'm so discouraged
with problems of the day
I fail to see the joyful things
that are along the way

When troubles overwhelm me
It's then my nerves may fray
that's when I need to take the time
To simply sit and pray

Reflecting on God's many the gifts
It makes me so aware
Of all the joy in little things
around me everywhere!

I must try to remember
though problems come my way
not to miss the joyful things
and the beauty of the day.

Your word is like a lamp
for my feet and a light for my path.

PSALM 119:105

The purpose of the Bible is simply to proclaim God's plan to save His
children. It asserts that man is lost and needs to be saved. And it
communicates the message that Jesus is the God in the flesh sent to save his
children.

Though the Bible was written over sixteen centuries by at least forty
authors, it has one central theme -- salvation through faith in Christ.
Begun by Moses in the lonely desert of Arabia and finished by John on the
lonely Isle of Patmos, it is held together by a strong thread: God's
passion and God's plan to save His children.

What a vital truth! Understanding the purpose of the Bible is like
setting the compass in the right direction. Calibrate it correctly and
you'll journey safely. But fail to set it, and who knows where you'll end
up.

God be with you all in everything you do! Blessings upon blessings be
yours! God bless you all!
