Daily Positive Thread for Thursday

Hello my friends! My day went well - Linus went to work, worked from 1 to 5 - he emailed me to make an appt. at Dr. Mike's for adjustment, his vertigo was acting up, so I got him an appt. for tomorrow afternoon. He's off now until Saturday. It was a blessing that he got the appointment for tomorrow as they only had two more openings for the day! Thanks be to God! May you all have many blessings that you give God credit for!!! Praying for you all!

God is better to us than we deserve. Lord, thank you for the strength

You give in my trials and especially thank you for the trials You have

kept from my door.

Scripture for the day:

"I lift up my eyes to the hills-- from where will my help come? My help

comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth." ~Psalm 121:1-2

Meditation for the day:

"I lift up my eyes to the hills-- from where will my help come?" We can try

to raise our thoughts from the depths of some of the sordid, mean and impure

things of the earth to the heights of goodness, decency and beauty. We can

train our insight by trying to take the higher view. We can train it more

and more until distant heights become more familiar. The heights of the

Lord, the source of our help, can become nearer and dearer, and the false

values of the earth can seem farther away.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may not keep my eyes forever downcast. I pray that I may set

my sights on higher things.

THE 7 UPS!

Author Unknown

1. Wake Up !!

Decide to have a good day.

"This is the day the Lord hath made;

Let us rejoice and be glad in it."

Psalms 118:24

2. Dress Up !!

The best way to dress up is to put on a smile.

A smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks.

"The Lord does not look at the things man looks at.

Man looks at outward appearance,

But the Lord looks at the heart."

I Samuel 16:7

3. Shut Up!!

Say nice things and learn to listen.

God gave us two ears and one mouth,

So He must have meant for us to do twice as much listening as

talking.

"He who guards his lips guards his soul."

Proverbs 13:3

4. Stand Up!!

. . . For what you believe in.

Stand for something or you will fall for anything.

"Let us not be weary in doing good; for at the proper time,

We will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good..."

Galatians 6:9-10

5. Look Up !!

. . . To the Lord.

"I can do everything through Christ who strengthens me".

Philippians 4:13

6. Reach Up !!

. . . For something higher.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart,

And lean not unto your own understanding.

In all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path."

Proverbs 3:5-6

7. Lift Up !!

. . . Your Prayers.

"Do not worry about anything; instead

PRAY ABOUT EVERYTHING."

Philippians 4:6

The Lord is My Shepherd

Lord, we are Your people, the sheep of Your flock.

Heal the sheep who are wounded,

touch the sheep who are in pain,

clean the sheep who are soiled,

warm the lambs who are cold.

Help us to know the Father's love

through Jesus the Shepherd and through His Holy Spirit.

Help us to lift up that love, and show it all over this land.

Help us to build love on justice and justice on love.

Help us to believe mightily, hope joyfully, love divinely.

Renew us that we may renew the face of the earth.

Amen.

Gifts

Each of us brings to the world unique talents, gifts and abilities.

Even if you don't know what it is, or value what you do, someone, somewhere,

will benefit from your presence.

No one can do what you do exactly the way you do it.

It is this uniqueness that makes you valuable to the world.

We are each as unique and valuable as the other.

It was designed that way. A gift from God.

Gifts are not given on the basis of race or gender.

As a matter of truth, gifts come in many shapes, sizes and colors.

When you do what you do, exactly the way you do it,

You are sharing God's gifts, bestowed for the good of the world.

DOUBLE RAINBOWS

By Sally I. Kenndy

I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the

covenant between me and the earth. Genesis 9:13

We were on our way to a business meeting. The morning was dismally

gray and rush hour traffic was still bumper-to-bumper on the

interstate. Christy was despondent. She shared with me how it seemed

that her life was falling apart around her even as she was living it.

I was listening, yet in my mind, I was trying to formulate words of

encouragement for her.

Then we saw it! Right there in front of us. Double rainbows.

Stretching all the way from far left to far right in the sky, one

directly over the other. What a sight! Not just one, but two, with a

messages proclaiming the gift of comfort and hope that God gives us

because of His presence and His word.

Rainbows speak of a promise God gave a long time ago. After the flood

that destroyed nearly all life (chapters 6-9 in the book of Genesis),

God made a covenant, with Noah and his descendants, for all

generations to come. The Lord said, ‘Never again will there be a

flood to destroy the earth. This is the sign of the covenant....I have

set my rainbow in the clouds....whenever it appears...I will remember

the everlasting covenant I have established between me and all life on

the earth.’

Rainbows are the colors of God’s love. God is light, and it’s like

His love and light are beautifully magnified and reflected, through

the cloud moisture, into a visible arc of red, orange, yellow, green,

blue, and violet.

Do rainbows talk to us today? They did the talking for me that day my

friend needed a good word! And each time we see one - or two! - we

can be reminded of the faithfulness of God towards us. That is good

news.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for the visible signs You give us to help

recall Your word and Your faithfulness. I praise you, Lord, for Your

unending glory and goodness. Amen.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Thursday

Sorry that Linus is having vertigo but hopefully the chiropractor will help.

Hey to Harlene and Bobbisue, hope you are both doing well.

The cold weather has set in down here and I don't like it. Not much I can do about that, is there? lol I was listening to the radio this morning and the DJ was saying that it could be worse. We could be allergic to the cold like some people are. He said that people break out in hives and some actually faint. Wouldn't that be terrible? Just goes to show, someone is always worse off than we are.

The dryer is calling so I best go. Have a great day and may the Lord bless you with all good things.

Be still, and know.
