Daily Positive Thread for Sunday

Make peace with your imperfections and concentrate on your strengths.
Lord, teach me to become more aware of my goodness so that little by
little I will become even better.

Scripture for the day:
"I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the
sharing of his sufferings by becoming like him in his death, if
somehow I may attain the resurrection from the dead. Not that I have
already obtained this or have already reached the goal; but I press on
to make it my own,
because Christ Jesus has made me his own." ~Philippians 3:10-12

Meditation for the day:
We need not dwell too much on the mistakes, faults and failures of the
past. We can be done with shame and remorse and contempt for
ourselves. With God's help, we can develop a new self-respect. Unless
we respect ourselves, others will not respect us. We ran a race, we
stumbled and fell, we have risen again and now we press on toward the
goal of a better life. We need not stay to examine the spot where we
fell, only feel sorry for the delay, the shortsightedness that
prevented us from
seeing the real goal sooner.

Prayer for the day:
I pray that I may not look back. I pray that I may keep picking
myself up and making a fresh start each day.

Greetings my friends! How was your day!! Mine was fine - nothing out of the ordinary - but Linus had another good day today!! Praise The Lord!!! Wow! So the first two days of his week from he ll started out okay. Hope it continues. He's tired now and resting - tomorrow we go to the early Mass as he starts work at 10:30 to 4:30. I'm making a broccoli and cauliflower salad to take to Lori's tomorrow night for her barbeque. I'll see her new deck for the first time!! Can hardly wait! Darla and Greg will be there too!

Are You Living for Christ?
by Fr. Frank E. Jindra
Zec 9:9-10 / Rom 8:9, 11-13 / Mt 11:25-30
St. Paul is walking on a two-edged sword in this weekend’s reading. We need to be right there with him. What are the two edges? Trying to put it tightly: 1) we are spiritual beings and this world doesn’t matter, and 2) our mission is to make this world into a world of peace for the King of Peace. Now, I know there are a lot of other extremes, but these two have been rejected, even condemned, by the Church. Yet St. Paul walks the balance perfectly for us. Let’s look at them.
I admit, I do not remember the name of the heresy mentioned as 1) above, but it created (and still creates) problems in one way or another today. It is true we are spiritual beings, but we are also physical beings, making us unique in all the earth. Our eternal soul, united with our bodies, makes us unique. Flesh and spirit united. (This is another topic better covered by John Paul II, especially in his Theology of the Body.) That is what St. Paul is trying to convey for us. We cannot ignore our flesh, as some would do, and say this world does not matter. We are commissioned by God to make this world better and more holy. Some would opt out of that, saying this world does not matter. I think that is one of the reasons there is so much apathy when it comes to election times: this world is passing away, so why should we even care? It has other effects: ignoring the poor, or the right use of our environment, and others too numerous for here.
The other example in 2) above showed its extreme in liberation theology, and all the false twists made there. Yet there is some truth for us to hold onto from this side as well. We are called to be stewards of the earth. We are called to care for the poor, the dying, etc. That part is necessary as children of God. But the extremes cause problems. Our hope is not in this world — never has been — never can be.
St. Paul is trying to tell us that we live for Christ: simple statement, but with profound consequences. We are flesh and blood, and soul. Further, God has a new flesh waiting for us at the resurrection. What that will be, we do not know. And we are not “in debt” to the flesh of this world, as verse 12 points out, that we should be overly concerned with this world. If we are too concerned with this world, when it does end for us where will our hope reside? And if we are too concerned about the condition of our soul that we ignore the world around us… what will happen to the mission of the Church to the world?
We need to reside on that sword’s edge — as hard as that is. We are body and soul. I think St. Paul’s warning is that we are not to rely on either too much, but keep our eyes turned toward that new body in union with Christ, forever.

Jesus said Come Follow Me
You must let go and allow Me to love you
You must let go and be filled with My love
You must let go and Trust in Me
You must let go and receive My peace
You must let go and listen to Me
You must let go and I will teach You
You must let go and and learn from Me
You must let go and thank Me
You must let go and praise Me
You must let go and let My spirit rest in you
You must let go and love Me
You must let go,forgive and be merciful
You must let go and accept yourself
You must let go and wait for Me to work
You must let go and let My wisdom, knowledge and truth inspire and change in you

It's in the silence of the soul,
Where peace and wisdom stay
to guide us through the din and strife
confronting us each day.
God placed this gift within us
with his loving Grace
knowing that we need His love
when trials of life we face
This strength will gently guide us
his live will see us through
releasing gifts of faith and hope
to bear what we must do

WHAT DO ANGELS LOOK LIKE?
Author Unknown
Like the little old lady who returned your wallet yesterday.
Like the taxi driver who told you that your eyes light up the world,
when you smile.
Like the small child who showed you the wonder in simple things.
Like the poor man who offered to share his lunch with you.
Like the rich man who showed you that it really is all possible, if
only you believe.
Like the stranger who just happened to come along, when you had lost
your way.
Like the friend who touched your heart, when you didn't think you had
one.
Angels come in all sizes and shapes, all ages and skin types.
Some with freckles, some with dimples, some with wrinkles, some
without.
They come disguised as friends, enemies teachers, students, lovers
and fools.
They don't take life too seriously, they travel light.
They leave no forwarding address, they ask nothing in return.
They are hard to find when your eyes are closed, but when you choose
to see, they are everywhere you look.
So, open you eyes and count all your Angels -- for you are truly
blessed!

Pockets Of Pain
Dear Chosen One,
Again, it has been My delight to hold you close, whisper My secrets in your ear, and joy in the wonder of you.
I know there are still some areas "We" both want to see healed but those little pockets of pain have been inside you a very long time.
And believe it or not, as troublesome as they are, to remove them all at once would be unwise.
Through the years, little by little and deep within yourself you came to think of those inner hurts as part of your identity.
As a Wise Master Builder I simply know that to replace those faulty parts with the original ones I designed for you does require a certain pace and process.
Why? You are always asking why, aren't you??
But I have already told you!!
To heal those inner wounds in a single act of power would deny you the opportunity to grow, to know by experience, and thereby to become a compassionate deliverer.
There are some kinds of knowing that only come by growing, otherwise why should My Son have arrived in your world as a baby?
Jesus Himself "learned" obedience - sinless though He was, by the things He suffered.
Not even He was exempt.
To fulfill all righteousness and lay hold of deepest wisdom, even Almighty God had to embrace pain and death.
Christ's baptism into suffering and death has become your baptism into glory and life.
How so!?! Ha!!! Shall I send you a blueprint of the cosmos for starters???
The full explanation lies beyond the range of mortal comprehension.
At least, such is My view of the matter.
Trust Me!! Do you have any other choice???
Tenderly,
Your Dad

HOLD MY HAND
Author Unknown
July 2, 2011
Little girl and her father were crossing a bridge.
The father was kind of scared so he asked his little daughter,
"Sweetheart, please hold my hand so that you don't fall into the
river."
The little girl said, "No, Dad. You hold my hand."
"What's the difference?" Asked the puzzled father.
"There's a big difference," replied the little girl.
"If I hold your hand and something happens to me,
chances are that I may let your hand go.
But if you hold my hand, I know for sure that no matter what happens,
you will never let my hand go."
In any relationship, the essence of trust is not in its bind, but in
its bond.
So hold the hand of the person who loves you rather than expecting
them to hold yours...

Mother of Unity Prayer
Virgin Mary, Mother of the word incarnate, our Mother of renewed faith, hope and love, instill in us your call to unity, so that we may be one in heart with you and the most Holy Trinity. Show us your way to peace and bring us to oneness in spirit and mind. All for the glory of God we pray. Unite us O dear Mother of Unity, in a song of praise and adoration to our Father in heaven, and make us one family, one faith, one love offering, to our Father most high. Bring us home O Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Unity. Amen.
Prayer given to a Holy Soul by Our Blessed Mother

Good night everyone - hope everyone is enjoying the holiday weekend. God bless you and see you all tomorrow!
