Jesus is the greatest giver of happiness that anyone has ever known.
Take Him into your heart. Lord, Your presence in my life brings me
great joy.
Scripture for the day:
"If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask for whatever you
wish, and it will be done for you." ~John 15:7
Meditation for the day:
"Ask for whatever you wish, and it will be done for you." God has
unlimited power. There is no limit to what God's power can do in
human hearts. We can will to have God's power and we can ask God for
it. God's power can be blocked by our indifference to it. We can go
along our own selfish way without calling on God's help, and we
receive no power. But when we trust in God, we can will to have the
power we need. When we sincerely ask God for it, we can receive it
abundantly.
Prayer for the day:
I pray that I may will to have God's power. I pray that I may keep
praying for the strength I need.
Hello my friends! How was your day? Chilly out, but Sammy got a real cute
hair cut today - he looks so handsome! Then we had Fr. Jerry over for
Supper - pork steak on the grill with sweet potato fries and a good salad to
start with. Don't need to make desserts, Fr. Jerry is off sugar too!
Tomorrow we plan on visiting our friends out in the country - they have a
gathering every year and we're always invited for the whole weekend -but
Linus is usually working but this year he isn't, so we'll go tomorrow.
Weather doesn't look good though for the picnic - we'll see. We can always
visit in their house too. 9:30 is an egg bake breakfast - supper will be a
cream can on the pit cooking all in the can - pork, cabbage, potatoes,
carrots etc. etc. and is it ever good and tasty!! They do this every year
too. It cooks about an hour.
Lots of people brings desserts etc. and we will have a hard time staying
away from sugar, but I'm bringing a good broccoli and cauliflower salad so
that should be good.
Hope you all are enjoying your long weekend.

Love Is Stronger Even Than Death
by Monsignor Dennis Clark, Ph.D.
Acts 15:22-31 / Jn 15:12-17
By the time of Jesus’ coming, the rule book for practicing Jews was
exceedingly long and complicated, so much so that most ordinary folk just
gave up trying to figure it all out. The scribes and pharisees battled
endlessly about fine points of the law, and the whole enterprise moved
further and further from real life and deeper into irrelevance.
Unlike the scribes, Jesus knew that the law should be a liberator, freeing
people from what is hurtful and what is void of purpose, and focusing their
efforts on what really counts. Jesus saw that that wasn’t happening, so he
cut through the life-threatening tangle that the lawyers had made. He
declared that there is really only one commandment, “Love one another as I
have loved you.”
And how exactly did he love us? Wholeheartedly, absolutely, and
unconditionally! His love had no limits, not even death. That’s the norm
he’s given us to measure up to. We’ll fail miserably if we try to do it on
our own, but we’ll have a chance of succeeding if we let his love fill us
and do its work within us.
The Spirit of Jesus is powerful and can overcome anything. Let his Spirit
do his work in you.
Mother Teresa said...
If you are searching for God and do not know where to begin, learn to pray
and take the trouble to pray every day. You can pray at work - work doesn't
have to stop prayer and prayer doesn't have to stop work. Tell Him
everything, talk to Him. He is our father, He is to us all whatever religion
we are. We are all created by God, we are his children. We have to put our
trust in Him, believe in Him, work for Him. And if we pray, we will get all
the answers we need.
Mary, loving daughter of God the Father,
I give my soul to your care.
Protect the life of God in my soul.
Do not let me lose it by sin.
Protect my mind and will so that all my thoughts and desires will be
pleasing to God.
Mary, loving Mother of God the Son,
I give my heart to your care.
Let me love you with all my heart.
Let me always try to love my neighbour.
And help me avoid friends who might lead me away from Jesus and into a life
of sin.
Mary, loving spouse of the Holy Spirit,
I give my body to your care.
Let me always remember that my body is a home for the Holy Spirit, who
dwells in me.
Let me never sin against him by any impure actions alone or with others.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed are you amongst all women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Quiet Time
Father,
Thank You for each and every day You have
blessed us here on earth.
Thank You for Your tender mercies.
Thank You for giving us friends and family to share these Internet joys
with.
I ask You to bless my friends, relatives and those I care deeply for who
are reading this right now..
Where there is joy, give them continued joy,
Where there is pain, give them your peace and mercy.
Where there is self-doubt, release a renewed confidence.
Where there is need, fulfill their needs.
Bless their homes, families, finances, their goings and their comings
In Jesus' name Amen.
NEVER GIVE UP
Author Unknown
One day a young lady was driving along with her father.
They came upon a storm, and the young lady asked her father, What
should I do?"
He said "keep driving". Cars began to pull over to the side, the storm
was getting worse.
"What should I do." The young lady asked?
"Keep driving," her father replied.
On up a few feet, she noticed that eighteen wheelers were also pulling
over. She told her dad, "I must pull over, I can barely see ahead. It
is terrible, and everyone is pulling over!"
Her father told her, "Don't give up, just keep driving!"
Now the storm was terrible, but she never stopped driving, and soon
she could see a little more clearly. After a couple of miles she was
again on dry land, and the sun came out.
Her father said, "Now you can pull over and get out."
She said "But why now?"
He said "When you get out, look back at all the people that gave up
and are still in the storm, because you never gave up your storm is
now over.
This is a testimony for anyone who is going through "hard times".
Just because everyone else, even the strongest, gives up. You don't
have to...if you keep going, soon your storm will be over and the sun
will shine upon your face again.
This story touched me! I hope it touched you, too !!!
I KNOW.....
* I know He is the beginning, so why do I worry about the end
* I know He is the creator, so why do I wonder who will destroy
* I know He has forgiven me, so why can't I forgive myself
* I know He is a healer, so why do I speak of sickness
* I know He can do all things, so why do I say I can't
* I know He will protect me, so why do I fear
* I know He will supply all my needs, so why can't I wait
* I know He is my strength and my salvation, so why do I feel weak
* I know that everything and everyone has a season, so why when someone's
season is over do I weep instead of rejoice
* I know He is the right way, so why do I go the wrong way
* I know He is the light, so why do I choose to walk in darkness
* I know that whatever I ask of God, God will give me, so why am I scared to
ask
* I know tomorrow is not promised, so why do I put off for tomorrow what I
can do today
* I know that the truth shall make me free, so why do I continue to lie
* I know He gives us revelation knowledge and understanding, so why do I
lean on my own understanding
* I know I should live in the spirit as well as walk in the spirit, so why
do I chose to live in the spirit but walk in the flesh
* I know that when praises go up blessings come down, so why do I refuse to
praise Him
* I know I am saved, so why do I refuse the word He has given me
* I know He has a plan for me, so why am I rushing it because I am eager to
do His will, when it is His time not my time

Closing Prayer:
GIVE ME THE STRENGTH GOD
GOD, give me the faith to accept that bad things do
happen to good people.
GOD, give me the strength to make a good home for my
family, to be inspired to share your love with them so
they will also love you, each other and themselves.
GOD, give the strength to turn the other cheek when
people make fun of me or my loved ones, of our clothes,
our goods, let me remember that it is our faith and love
that matters.
GOD, give me the strength to bite my tongue and not
say, « I told you so » or « I knew that would happen »,
help me offer prayers of support.
GOD, give me the strength to remember to pray when I
feel that all hope is lost, let me share this hope with others.
GOD, give me the strength to make changes in this
world in Your name, to right the wrongs I see, to
give justice and love to all Your children.
GOD, help me protect my family---give the strength
to help them withstand the trials You give them.
GOD, help me remember You every day, in everything I
do, in all those I love---You are there.
GOD, give me the strength to have faith in You even
when I don't immediately understand a situation and
to accept that all that You do is for our good, even if
I don't see it.
GOD, show me the path to being a better Christian,
wife, husband, mother, friend.
GOD, give me the strength to speak a universal
language and not be misunderstood; teach me
this universal language of the heart.
GOD, show me how to lead my loved ones in the right
pathway to You, give them the strength to withstand
the barriers and return to the right path.
GOD, give me the strength to forgive other, to love
them as You love me.
GOD, give me the strength to pray when I least feel
like it.
GOD, give me a sign from time to time that You are
there and haven't forgotten us.
GOD, give me the strength to help my family members in
new ventures and experiences, to help ease their way.
GOD, I ask these things of You , not out of selfishness,
but out of love and desire to serve You better and to do
a good Job at what you have sent me here to do.
To everyone, add your own « STRENGTHS » to this list.
Use it and share it with others. May you all gain the
strength you need.
