Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

Hello my friends! Tonight is the eve of my dear husband's 75th birthday! We are staying home tonight - he's had a busy day already!! Tomorrow he works from 9 - 2 and I'm taking him out to eat ribs for his birthday. At this particular restaurant he gets his meal free on the birthday. They have wonderful ribs there!! Today's blessing was finding out by text that Darla is back home safely! Lori moved back home again last night, and her dog and cat, so it's been nice yet, I miss her! It was nice having her here those days of recuperation. Darla comes back April 27 to be a bridesmaid in a Wedding so we'll see her in about a month again! This time they both will be coming. Take care everyone, and God bless you! Come and share God's blessings to you - so we can give Him the credit where credit is due, and not take His blessings to us for granted.

Good is always coming to you. No matter what is happening in your life,

you can bless it with prayer and be peaceful. Lord, You give me the courage

to face any situation confidently and victoriously.

Scripture for the day:

"Other seed fell into good soil and brought forth grain, growing up

and increasing and yielding thirty and sixty and a hundred-fold." And

he said, 'Let anyone with ears to hear listen!'" ~Mark 4:8-9

Meditation for the day:

God's kingdom on earth is growing slowly, like a seed in the ground.

In the growth of God's kingdom there is always progress among the few

who are out ahead of the crowd. We can keep striving for something

better and there does not need to be stagnation in our lives. Eternal

life, abundant life can be ours for the seeking. We need not misspend

time over past failures. We can count the lessons learned from

failures as rungs upon the ladder of progress. We can press onward

toward the goal.

Prayer for the day:

"Does God Cry?"

A little girl once asked, "Mommy does God cry?"

"Don't be silly, God can't cry baby," her mother replied.

"But what about when He looks down from Heaven above

And sees all the people who needs His love?

And what about when He looks down and sees

The playground kids fall and scrape their knees?

Or how about Aunt Jane who can't have baby girls or boys?

Or what about the poor kids who gets no Christmas toys?

Maybe God would cry if He lived with my friend Tommy.

Whose daddy beats and bruises him and his mommy.

Or maybe if He looked down and saw people being killed,

I think He'd surely have eyes that are tear filled.

But I think most of all, mommy, what would have made God cry,

Is when He looked down at the cross and watched His baby die."

The mother stood in silence as her eyes filled with tears,

For she knew her little girl was wise beyond her years.

Staring into deep blue eyes, the mother found courage to say,

"Yes baby girl, I think God looks down and cries every day."

God Bless you and keep you safe in Jesus' arms!

NEVER GIVE UP

Author Unknown

One day a young lady was driving along with her father.

They came upon a storm, and the young lady asked her father, What

should I do?"

He said "keep driving". Cars began to pull over to the side, the storm

was getting worse.

"What should I do." The young lady asked?

"Keep driving," her father replied.

On up a few feet, she noticed that eighteen wheelers were also pulling

over. She told her dad, "I must pull over, I can barely see ahead. It

is terrible, and everyone is pulling over!"

Her father told her, "Don't give up, just keep driving!"

Now the storm was terrible, but she never stopped driving, and soon

she could see a little more clearly. After a couple of miles she was

again on dry land, and the sun came out.

Her father said, "Now you can pull over and get out."

She said "But why now?"

He said "When you get out, look back at all the people that gave up

and are still in the storm, because you never gave up your storm is

now over.

This is a testimony for anyone who is going through "hard times".

Just because everyone else, even the strongest, gives up. You don't

have to...if you keep going, soon your storm will be over and the sun

will shine upon your face again.

This story touched me! I hope it touched you, too !!!

God loved the world so much that he gave his

one and only Son so that whoever believes in him

may not be lost, but have eternal life.

JOHN 3:16

He looked around the hill and foresaw a scene. Three figures hung on

three crosses. Arms spread. Heads fallen forward. They moaned with the

wind.

Men clad in soldier's garb sat on the ground near the trio....

Women clad in sorry huddled at the foot of the hill....faces

tear-streaked.

All heaven stood to fight. All nature rose to rescue. All eternity

poised to protect. But the Creator gave no command.

"It must be done...." he said, and withdrew.

The angel spoke again. "It would be less painful...."

The Creator interrupted softly: "But it wouldn't be love."

Dreams Are ...

Dreams are a big part of our Lives

and You must do whatever it takes

to make them a Reality;

by the plans you make,

the course you take,

and the things you do.

Don't dwell on past mistakes.

Leave yesterday behind,

along with all it's problems,

worries and doubts.

Realize you can't change the past,

but you can start a new tomorrow.

Don't try to do everything at once;

take one step at a time,

Don't ever be afraid to try the Impossible

no matter what others may think.

Remember you are Unique

in your own special way.

Don't ever stop Dreaming!

Don't ever stop wanting what's right for you!

May was the month dedicated to Mary. We prayed the rosary with our

families, and how consoling it is to have before us a women of such humility

and purity. She taught us to honor Our Father in Heaven, and we mourned

with her the death of her Son. It has been a beautiful preparation to June,

the month dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

St. Margaret Mary (1647-1690) had visions of Christ and He wanted her to

spread the devotion to his Sacred Heart. In approving the spread of this

devotion, the Church examined the visions of Margaret Mary, but the Church

is not infallible with this matter, as the examination could only be done up

to a level of human certainty. Margaret Mary's visions could be false, but

the devotion would not be any less valid. The revelations made to Saint

Margaret Mary brought nothing new into Catholic doctrine.

The Sacred Heart of Jesus is worthy of adoration and devotion. His Sacred

Heart is a figure of speech which signifies His love and courage, and His

moral and emotional life. Like other devotions, this devotion is based upon

a doctrine of the faith, perhaps the greatest of: "God is love". So the

devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus is the devotion to the love of God

which is symbolized in the heart of Christ.

The solemn installation of the image of the Sacred Heart in a conspicuous

place in the home is a daily reminder to follow in Christ's royal way by

making reparation for sins committed and by striving to serve God and

neighbor more lovingly. One of the "12 promises" made by Jesus to St.

Margaret Mary was the blessing of every house in which the picture of the

Sacred Heart was exposed and honored.

Let us pray:

O most holy heart of Jesus, fountain of every blessing,

I adore you, I love you, and with lively sorrow for my sins I offer you this

poor heart of mine.

Make me humble, patient, pure and wholly obedient to your will.

Grant, Good Jesus, that I may live in you and for you.

Protect me in the midst of danger.

Comfort me in my afflictions.

Give me health of body, assistance in my temporal needs,

your blessing on all that I do, and the grace of a holy death. Amen.

John 19:37 - And there is another scripture that says, "People will look at

him whom they pierced."

1 John 4:8 - Whoever does not love does not know God, for God is love.

1 John 4:16 - God is love, and whoever lives in love lives in union with God

and God lives in union with him.

Mother Teresa said...

If you are searching for God and do not know where to begin, learn to pray

and take the trouble to pray every day. You can pray at work - work doesn't

have to stop prayer and prayer doesn't have to stop work. Tell Him

everything, talk to Him. He is our father, He is to us all whatever religion

we are. We are all created by God, we are his children. We have to put our

trust in Him, believe in Him, work for Him. And if we pray, we will get all

the answers we need.

A Prayer to St. Peregrine for Sick Relatives and Friends

O great Saint Peregrine,

you have been called,

"The Mighty", "The Wonder Worker",

because of the numerous miracles

which you obtained from God

for those who have turned to you in their need.

For so many years,

you bore in your own flesh this cancerous disease

that destroys the very fiber of our being.

You turned to God when the power of human beings

could do no more,

and you were favored with the vision of Jesus

coming down from His Cross to heal your affliction.

I now ask God to heal these sick persons whom I entrust to you:

(Here mention their names).

Aided by your powerful intercession,

I shall sing with Mary a hymn of gratitude to God

for His great goodness and mercy.

Amen.

DIRECTIONS TO HIS HOUSE

Author Unknown

Make a Right onto "Believeth Blvd."

Keep straight and go through the Green Light, which is Jesus Christ.

From there, you must turn onto the "Bridge of Faith," which is over

troubled water.

When you get off the bridge, make a Right turn and Keep Straight.

You are on the "King's Highway" - Heaven-bound.

Keep going for three miles: One for the Father, One for the Son, and

One for the Holy Ghost.

Then exit off onto "Grace Blvd."

From there, make a Right turn on "Gospel Lane."

Keep Straight and then make another Right on "Prayer Blvd."

As you go on your way, Yield Not to the traffic on "Temptation Ave."

Also, avoid SIN STREET because it is a DEAD END.

Pass up "Envy Drive," and "Have Avenue."

Also, pass "Hypocrisy Street," "Gossiping Lane" and "Backbiting

Blvd."

But you have to go down "Long-suffering Lane", "Persecution Blvd.,"

and "Trials and Tribulations Ave."

But that's all right, because VICTORY Blvd. is straight ahead!

God Bless

Enjoy your Saturday and God bless you in everything you do.

Good morning!

Hope everyone is doing well. I can't seem to post everyday so I sneak in when I can.

Happy Birthday to Linus! Glad to hear your girls are ok, Gloria.

Hey, Harlene!

My husband is still having some pain, the DR says the nerves are aggravated and it will take time for the pain to go away, perhaps months. I am praying that he gets relief long before then, please continue to keep him in your prayers.

Spring has sprung around here. The trees, bushes, flowers are in full bloom. The Lord has blessed us with a colorful spring.

My daughter and grandsons went to Disney World. It is spring break next week, they left yesterday and will come home Wednesday. This morning they had breakfast with Goofy, Minnie and Mickey. She knows that park like the back of her hand so they should have lots of fun. We went with them last June, that's enough to do me for the rest of my life! lol She loves Disney so much she became a Disney travel agent. If anyone should need info, ticket discounts, whatever she does...I'm not sure...lol...let me know and I will refer you to her.

Errands and chores are waiting so I best close for now. I hope everyone has a good weekend that is filled with all sorts of unexpected blessings.

Be still, and know.

Hello to All!

Gloria, my birthday regards to your husband.

LucyShamrocks - it's been a while since I've read your posts. New nic too. LovesToPaint - still offering up my highest and best for you and all.

Had a tiring week. I'm resting up and spending time with my husband today. He has made himself available to me all day so I can go and do some 'me' things with him. I assembled a swag with fabric flowers and bow to hang over our front door for the season. I have to say, it came out looking nice. Not exactly Pinterest standard but close.

My highest and best of thoughts for all and this nation. Be at peace. Know you are loved.
