Avoid negative thinking because this leads to unnecessary worry. Lord, I
rely
on You to guide and sustain me and I know that with You I can move easily
around life's obstacles.
Scripture for the day:
"From his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. The law
indeed was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus
Christ." ~John 1:16-17
Meditation for the day:
As God's power in our lives in creases, so does our ability to
understand God's grace. The power of God's grace is only limited by
the understanding and will of each individual. God's miracle-working
power is only limited in each of us by our lack of spiritual vision.
God respects our free will, the right of each of us to accept or
reject this miracle-working power. Only the sincere desire of the
soul gives God the opportunity to bestow it.
Prayer for the day:
I pray that I may not limit God's power by my lack of vision. I pray
that I may keep my mind open to day to God's influence.
Hello my friends! It got hot today, while we worked outside out in front
today. He got those roots out from the tree yesterday, and today I helped
him put the granite chips back in place again. It took awhile, but it was
our blessing when everything we finished and it looks so nice now. Another
blessing - a lady was walking her two dogs came to visit as Sammy was
outside with us, and she has the cutest little Pom pup about 5 months old,
with a 2 year old Pom, both males, baby is Grizzley, and the older one is
Wolf. She told us she sold her house in LA and just lives in her RV with
her two dogs and goes all over. She is now visiting our neighbor lady - they
went to high school together in Nebraska. Boy, she must like driving!
Quite an adventure, to live that way! Ann called me today - and I invited
them over tonight to visit and that was great! Their son's wedding is just
2 weeks away and so much to do - he lives in another state. Same as with
Darla and Greg. Anyway, it was nice seeing them, Ann is so busy working
full time, it's hard to get them over, but she had the day off so they could
come.
They needed to talk, and I'm glad we can be there for them.
Praying for all of you and thanks loads for your prayers for us - it's
getting closer for Linus to get that appliance job - he was there for
something and one of the owners said they WILL fit him in, and it's getting
closer when they need him. May you all have a very wonderful, positive
Saturday and throughout the weekend!
God bless you all!
Mother Teresa Said...
We have a right to be happy and peaceful. We have been created for this - we
are born to be happy - and we can only find true happiness and peace when we
are in love with God; there is joy in loving God, great happiness in loving
Him.
Morning Offering to The Sacred Heart
Dear Lord, I adore Thy Sacred Heart, which I desire to enter with acts of
love, praise, adoration, and thanksgiving. I offer Thee my own heart as I
sigh to Thee from its very depths, asking that Thou will worketh through me
in all that I do this day; thus may I draw Thee closer to me than Thou wert
before. I offer Thee all the crosses and sufferings of the world, in union
with Thy life on earth, in expiation for sins. Please join my every action
and heartbeat to the pulsations of Thy Heart. I unite all my works of this
day to those labors Thou didst perform while Thou wert on earth, bathing
them in Thy Precious Blood, and I offer them to the Heavenly Father so that
many souls may be saved. Amen.

God's Boxes
I have in my hands two boxes,
Which God gave me to hold.
He said, 'Put all your sorrows in the black box,
And all your joys in the gold.'
I heeded His words, and in the two boxes,
Both my joys and sorrows I stored,
But though the gold became heavier each day,
The black was as light as before.
With curiosity, I opened the black,
I wanted to find out why,
And I saw, in the base of the box, a hole,
Which my sorrows had fallen out by.
I showed the hole to God, and mused,
'I wonder where my sorrows could be!'
He smiled a gentle smile and said,
'My child, they're all here with me..'
I asked God, why He gave me the boxes,
Why the gold and the black with the hole?
'My child, the gold is for you to count your blessings,
The black is for you to let go.'
Lessons of Love
A ninety-one-year-old woman died after living a long, dignified life.
When she met God, she asked Him about something that had
long bothered her:
"If Man was created in God's image, and if all men are created
equal, why do people treat each other so badly?"
God replied that each person who enters our life has a unique
lesson to teach us. And it is only through these lessons that we learn
about life, people, relationships, and God. This confused the woman,
so God began to explain:
"When someone lies to you, it teaches you that things are not always as
they seem. The truth is often far beneath the surface. Look beyond the
masks people wear if you want to know their heart. And remove your own
masks to let people know yours.
"When someone steals from you, it teaches you that nothing is forever.
Always appreciate what you have, for you never know when you might
lose it. And never, ever, take your friends and family for granted because
today is the only guarantee you have.
"When someone inflicts an injury upon you, it teaches you that the
human state is a fragile one. Protect and take care of your body as best
you can; it's the only thing you are sure to have forever.
"When someone mocks you, it teaches you that no two people are alike.
When you encounter people who are different from you, don't judge them
by how they look or act; instead, base your opinion on the contents of
their hearts.
"When someone breaks your heart, it teaches you that loving someone
does not always mean that person will love you back. But don't turn your
back on love because when you find the right person, the joy that that one
person brings will make up for all the past hurts put together. Times ten.
"When someone holds a grudge against you, it teaches you that everyone
makes mistakes. When you are wronged, the most virtuous thing you can
do is forgive the offender without pretense. "Forgiving those who have
hurt us is the most difficult, the most courageous, and the most noble thing
Man can do.
"When a loved one is unfaithful to you, it teaches you that resisting
temptation is Man's greatest challenge. Be vigilant in your resistance
against all temptation. By doing so, you will be rewarded with an
enduring sense of satisfaction far greater than the temporary pleasure
by which you were tempted.
"When someone cheats you, it teaches you that greed is the root of all
evil. Aspire to make your dreams come true, no matter how lofty they
may be. Do not feel guilty about your success, but never let an
obsession with achieving your goals lead you to engage in malevolent
activities.
"When someone ridicules you, it teaches you that nobody is perfect.
Accept people for their merits and be tolerant of their flaws. Do not
ever reject someone for imperfections over which they have no control."
Upon hearing the Lord's wisdom, the old woman became concerned
that there were no lessons to be learned from Man's good deeds. God
replied that Man's capacity to love is the greatest gift he has. At the
root
of all kindness is love, and each act of love also teaches us a lesson.
The woman's curiosity deepening, God once again began to explain:
"When someone loves us, it teaches us that love, kindness, charity,
honesty, humility, forgiveness, and acceptance can counteract all the
evil in the world.
"For every good deed, there is one less evil deed. Man alone has the
power to control the balance between good and evil, but because the
lessons of love are not taught often enough, the power is too often
abused.
"When you enter someone's life, whether by plan, chance, or
coincidence, consider what your lesson will be. Will you teach love
or a harsh lesson of reality?
"When you die, will your life have resulted in more loving or hurting?
More comfort or pain? More joy or sadness? Each one of us has
power over the balance of love in the world. Use it wisely.
"Don't miss an opportunity to nudge the world's scale in the right
direction.
"Pass these lessons of love on to those you love and to those you
have hurt.
"For each person who receives this, there will be a little less evil in
the world and a little more love."
