Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

The important thing is not how long your life is, but how good your life is.
Lord, may I glorify You all the days of my life.

"Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were
called in the one body. And be thankful." ~Colossians 3:15

We can be at home and comfortable in the world. Yet some of us live
lives of quiet desperation. This is the opposite of being at home and at
peace in the world. We can let our peace of mind be evident to those around
us.
We can let others see that we are comfortable, and seeing it, know that it
springs from our trust in God. The dull, hard way of resignation is
not God's way. Faith can take the sting out of the winds of adversity and
can bring peace even in the midst of struggle.

I pray that I may be more comfortable in my way of living. I pray that
I may feel more at home and at peace within myself.

Peace of Jesus to you all!! Today was a very busy day - and full of
blessings too. First we did go to our big Walmart for the first time and
wow! is it ever big!! Since we've decided not do membership at Sam's
anymore we thought we'd buy our paper products at Walmart. Never thinking
what large grocery store it is! I got just a few groceries there that were
organic, some lettuce, broccoli, and cauliflower, and some of that Earth
Balance that we get at the Food co-op, but it was cheaper there. We didn't
even go thru the whole store yet, it was an experience and we want to do
that again. By the way, we got waited on right away, no standing in lines.
Then we headed out to the Cathedral for the noon Mass and on the way - we
almost had an accident and thanks be to God he stopped in time and all was
well but what a scare. Our Guardian Angel was protecting us - praise God.
After we had our lunch we were so tired we took a nap, and then went to the
last Fish Fry at the same Church we were two times before. They only have
them in Lent. Got home and a few minutes later we went to our Church as
they had a movie night and they played "The Passion of the Christ". Lori
and I saw it when it first came out, but LInus never did, so he got to see
it tonight - and it was good to see it for the beginning of Holy Week next
week. Has any of you seen that movie? So all day there were numerous
blessings all over!! It's good to just sit and count your blessings. I
like that last line on top: "Lord, may I glorify You all the days of my
life."

Most forgiving Lord,
again and again you welcome me back into your loving arms.
Grant me freedom from the heavy burdens of sin
that weigh me down
and keep me so far from you.

Sayings of Mother Teresa

Suffering, If it is accepted together, borne together, is joy.
Remember that the passion of Christ ends always
in the joy of the resurrection of Christ,
so when you feel in your heart the suffering of Christ,
remember the resurrection has to come.
The joy of Easter has to dawn.
Never let anything so fill you with sorrow
as to make you forget the joy of the risen Chirst

The Storms Of Life

When the heart is troubled and the day seems long,
And the mighty tempests roll,
The clouds are thick and foreboding,
There is sadness in your soul.
When things go wrong and you're weary,
And your heart cries out in pain,
What should I do? Which way do I go?
Crying out again and again.
Suddenly a soft voice whispers,
"Take time my child to pray,
While the storms of life are raging,
I will wipe your fears away."

STILL HE WALKED
-- Author Unknown

He could hear the crowds screaming "crucify" "crucify"...
He could hear the hatred in their voices,
These were his chosen people.
He loved them,
And they were going to crucify him.
He was beaten, bleeding and weakened... his heart was broken,
But still He walked.

He could see the crowd as he came from the palace.
He knew each of the faces so well.
He had created them.
He knew every smile, laugh, and shed tear,
But now they were contorted with rage and anger...his heart broke,
But still He walked.

Was he scared?
You and I would have been
So his humanness would have mandated that he was. He felt alone.
His disciples had left, denied, and even betrayed him.
He searched the crowd for a loving face and he saw very few.
Then he turned his eyes to the only one that mattered
And he knew that he would never be alone.
He looked back at the crowd, at the people who were spitting
At him, throwing rocks at him and mocking him and he knew
That because of him, they would never be alone.
So for them, He walked.

The sounds of the hammer striking the spikes echoed through
The crowd. The sounds of his cries echoed even louder,
The cheers of the crowd, as his hands and feet
Were nailed to the cross, intensified with each blow.
Loudest of all was the still small voice inside his
Heart that whispered "I am with you, my son",
And God's heart broke.
He had let his son walk.

Jesus could have asked God to end his suffering,
But instead he asked God to forgive.
Not to forgive him, but to forgive the ones who were persecuting him.
As he hung on that cross, dying an unimaginable death,
He looked out and saw, not only the faces in the crowd,
But also, the face of every person yet to be,
And his heart filled with love.
As his body was dying, his heart was alive.
Alive with the limitless, unconditional love he feels for each of us.
That is why He walked.

When I forget how much My God loves me,
I remember his walk.
When I wonder if I can be forgiven,
I remember his walk.
When I need reminded of how to live like Christ,
I think of his walk.
And to show him how much I love him,
I wake up each morning, turn my eyes to him,
And I walk.

The House of 1000 Mirrors

Long ago in a small, far away village, there was place
known as the House of 1000 Mirrors. A small, happy little
dog learned of this place and decided to visit. When he
arrived, he bounced happily up the stairs to the doorway
of the house. He looked through the doorway with his ears
lifted high and his tail wagging as fast as it could. To
his great surprise, he found himself staring at 1000 other
happy little dogs with their tails wagging just as fast as
his. He smiled a great smile, and was answered with 1000
great smiles just as warm and friendly. As he left the
House, he thought to himself, "This is a wonderful place.
I will come back and visit it often."

In this same village, another little dog, who was not
quite as happy as the first one, decided to visit the
house. He slowly climbed the stairs and hung his head
low as he looked into the door. When he saw the 1000
unfriendly looking dogs staring back at him, he growled
at them and was horrified to see 1000 little dogs
growling back at him. As he left, he thought to himself,
"That is a horrible place, and I will never go back there
again."

All the faces in the world are mirrors. What kind of
reflections do you see in the faces of the people you
meet? What reflection do others see when they look at you?

May you weekend be full of blessings - don't forget to count them! God
bless you!
