Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

Hello my friends! It was a wonderful day today because we got our computer back! I've been chatting on Facebook with a few friends, one of them lived with us for a year when she was 19, and going to school and work, her name is Bridget. Bridget didn't marry until late and she adopted a Guatemala girl, first, then after she married, her husband had a son, so she adopted him too. She said that part in Guatemala where Lori and her friend are going is a most beautiful place. Many blessings today - too many to count, thanks be to God from Whom all blessings flow! One thing I found out today and that is when I deleted stuff off my inbox on the tablet, everything got deleted here too and that was not what I wanted. I quickly emailed Nadine and asked her to send me the inspirations so I could use them tonight, and she did! Found out on a chat that Darla and Greg are coming soon to celebrate Greg's Dad's 80th birthday - and being Lori's leaving for Guatemala in Feb. and she'll be gone on her birthday, she thought we could celebrate hers too while they are here. Sounds like a good plan! Praying for you all - it never stops! Thanks for your prayers for us.

We call on God in our big problems, but often forget to call on Him
in our ordinary moments, yet He is always there and always loving us.
Lord, every time I seek Your help, You draw me closer to You.

"O LORD, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter;
we are all the work of your hand." ~Isaiah 64:8

I can be renewed. I can be remade. In this I need God's help. God's
spirit can flow through me and, in flowing through me, it can sweep
away all the bitter past. I can take heart. The way can open for me.
Each day can unfold something good, as long as I am trying to live the
I believe God wants me to live.

I pray that I may be taught, but as a child would be taught. I pray
that I may never question God's plans, but accept them gladly.

Jesus Calling

January 3
Refresh yourself in the Peace of My Presence. This Peace can be your portion at all times and in all circumstances. Learn to hide in the secret of My Presence, even as you carry out your duties in the world. I am both with you and within you. I go before you to open up the way, and I also walk alongside you. There could never be another companion as devoted as I am.
Because I am your constant Companion, there should be a lightness to your step that is observable to others. Do not be weighed down with problems and unresolved issues, for I am your burden-bearer. In the world you have trials and distress, but don't let them get you down. I have conquered the world and deprived it of power to harm you. In Me you may have confident Peace.
Psalm 31:19-20 (NASB); John 16:33 (AMP)

How to Stay Young and Content

1. Throw out non-essential numbers. This includes age, weight and height.

2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down. If you really
need a grouch, there are probably family members that fill that need.

3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening,
whatever. Just never let the brain idle.

4. Enjoy the simple things. When the children are young, that is all that
you can afford. When they are in college, that is all that you can afford.
When they are grown, and you are on retirement, that is all that you can
afford!

5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath. Laugh so
much that you can be tracked in the store by your distinctive laughter.

6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person
who is with us our entire life, is ourselves.

7. Surround yourself with what you love, whether it is family, pets,
keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.

8. Cherish your health. If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable,
improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

9. Don't take guilt trips. Go to the mall, the next county, a foreign
country, but not guilt.

10. Tell the people you love, that you love them, at every opportunity.
Remember, Life is not measured by the number of breaths
we take, but by the moments that take our breath away
"I believe that friends are quiet angels who lift us to our feet when our
wings have trouble remembering how to fly."

I BELIEVE
Author Unknown
I Believe...
A Birth Certificate shows we were born. A Death Certificate shows we
died. Pictures show we lived!

I Believe...
That just because two people argue, doesn't mean they don't love each
other.
And just because they don't argue, doesn't mean they do love each
other.

I Believe...
That we don't have to change friends if we understand that friends
change.

I Believe...
That no matter how good a friend is, they're going to hurt you every
once in a while and you must forgive them for that.

I Believe...
That true friendship continues to grow, even the longest distance.
Same goes for true love.

I Believe....
That you can do something in an instant that will give you heartache
for life.

I Believe...
That it's taking me a long time to become the person I want to be.

I Believe...
That you should always leave loved ones with loving words. It may be
the last time you see them.

I Believe...
That you can keep going long after you think you can't.

I Believe...
That we are responsible for what we do, no matter how we feel.

I Believe...
That either you control your attitude or it controls you.

I Believe...
That heroes are the people who do what has to be done when it needs to
be done, regardless of the consequences.

I Believe...
That money is a lousy way of keeping score.

I Believe...
That my best friend and I can do anything or nothing and have the best
time.

I Believe...
That sometimes the people you expect to kick you when you're down,
will be the ones to help you get back up.

I Believe...
That sometimes when I'm angry I have the right to be angry, but that
doesn't give me the right to be cruel.

I Believe...
That maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you've had
and what you've learned from them and less to do with how many
birthdays you've celebrated.

I Believe...
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others. Sometimes, you
have to learn to forgive yourself.

I Believe...
That no matter how bad your heart is broken the world doesn't stop for
your grief.

I Believe...
That our background and circumstances may have influenced who we
are, but, we are responsible for who we become.

I Believe...
That you shouldn't be so eager to find out a secret. It could change
your life Forever.

I Believe...
Two people can look at the exact same thing and see something totally
different.

I Believe...
That your life can be changed in a matter of hours by people who don't
even know you.

I Believe...

That even when you think you have no more to give, when a friend cries
out to you - you will find the strength to help.

I Believe...
That credentials on the wall do not make you a decent human being.

I Believe...
That the people you care about most in life are taken from you too
soon.

I Believe...
That you should send this to all of the people that you believe in,
I just did.

I Believe...
The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of
everything Smiley Happy we just make the most of everything.

Wishing you
12 months of HAPPINESS
52 weeks of FUN
365 days of SUCCESS
8,760 hours of GOOD HEALTH

The 7 Gifts of the Holy Spirit

1. Wisdom: Helps us to see that the world is only a temporary place for us, that Heaven is our true home. It helps us to set our hearts on the things that really count in life, such as God, virtue, and prayer

2. Understanding: Gives us an insight in to the mysteries of faith and helps us to explain in the faith to others

3. Counsel: Helps us make correct decisions about God's will for our lives

4. Fortitude: Gives us the strength to be faithful to Christ even when it is difficult to do so

5. Knowledge: Helps us to see everything in life in relation to God and eternity

6. Piety: Inspires us to worship God and to love Him as our Father

7. Fear of the Lord: Shows us the evil of sin and helps us to live in God's grace. It is also called "wonder and awe" in God's presence because it reminds us that He is great and all powerful

Note: See Isaias 11:1-3

A prayer to the Guardian Angels

Holy Angel of my husband, I commend him this day to your powerful care. Be with him in his daily work, shield him from every misfortune, and guard him against all temptation from without and within. And you Angels of my children look after them wherever they go and I cannot be with them. Let them return home unharmed in body and soul.

Holy Guardian Angels of my children, you know that I can no longer protect and oversee and control my children as before, when they were little. They are entrusted to you. Therefore I ask you with all my motherly (fatherly) love to protect them this day in body and soul, wherever they go, that they may remain safe from all harm. Stir their conscience when they waver, and lend them your strength. You behold at all times the face of the Heavenly Father; beseech Him to turn all things to good, that one day in union with you we may praise and bless Him forever.

Holy Guardian Angels of my children, each of you knows his ward better and deeper than I can. Show me what to do to bring up my children rightly. Help me to open their hearts to everything good and holy. Teach them to love Christ as He deserves to be loved.

GLORIA--Sweet, considerate Gloria......I bet you had the "bestest" of Christmases and I am glad that the motor trip was without incident. Good to be home, though, isn't it ? The I Believe writings are so on point... When Alex, my DH, died, one of my sons said that it didn't seem right that the world continued on in spite of our profound loss. BLUEGRASSBABY--- I hope you had a lovely holiday. This is going to be a wonderful year for ALL of us. Good health, good friends ----that is what I believe.
