Daily Positive Thread for Monday

The ordinary things we do each day are often taken for granted
and make us feel unimportant. Lord, help me change my thinking
so that I can happily see that the little things I do are very important
and that I do make a very big difference.

"You show me the path of life. In your presence there is fullness of
joy; in your right hand are pleasures forevermore." ~Psalm 16:11

Faith is the messenger that bears our prayers to God. Prayer can be
like incense, rising ever higher and higher. The prayer of faith is
the prayer of trust that feels the presence of God which it rises to
meet. It can be sure of some response from God. We can pray a prayer
of thanks to God every day for God's grace, which has kept us on the
right way and allowed us to start living the good life. So we can
pray to God with faith and trust and gratitude.

I pray that I may feel sure of God's response to my prayers. I pray
that I may be content with whatever form that response takes.

Peace of Jesus to you all! Hope you all are having a good day and evening now - and had a nice Palm Sunday Mass or Service. We had a lovely one - and got some Palms. Today was a restful day - I know I'll have to start with a lot of de-cluttering for getting the house up for sale and it's overwhelming! But today was a rest day and I took advantage of it. Lori did some lawn mowing and fertilizing today - Linus was there to help show her what to do as it was her first time. It's still cold out - maybe we'll be gone to Texas before it warms up again. What are your blessings? Mine was a day of rest.

Meditation for Palm Sunday

"They brought the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks across its back, and he sat on it." (Mark 11:7)

For all of Jesus' public life, He refused to be proclaimed or crowned by the people as the Messiah. Most often Jesus directed them to silence concerning His Messiahship. Other times when they tried to lift Him up and carry Him off in procession, He would slip through their midst. Jesus knew that the people had a very warlike image of the Messiah, expecting the Messiah to bring liberation from Roman oppressors. Jesus also knew that His Messiahship was of a different kind. Jesus' Messiahship would announce liberation into the kingdom of heaven. This liberation would occur through pardon, nonviolence, suffering, and death.

Today, on Palm Sunday, Jesus makes public the announcement that He is the true Messiah, the Anointed One. During Jesus' time people considered the palm tree a princely tree and its branches symbols of victory and well-being. So the people throw palm branches in front of Jesus to proclaim His anointed leadership. And yet Jesus rides on a donkey as peaceful people did, not on a war-horse like the generals of that time.

How many times have we hoped for a more powerful Messiah, one who would change our lives for us? How many times have we moved from pardon and nonviolence into anger and revenge? Today, like Jesus, let us process in peace and forgiveness. Let us seek the kingdom of Jesus, the true Messiah.

Christ entered Jerusalem

Christ entered Jerusalem amidst the shade of the palm
Greeted by thousands upon thousands who meant him no harm
He entered knowing full well his fate on the cross
A selfless sacrifice to save us all from eternal loss

I beseech you my brethren please do not turn away
He is with us with each moment of every day
He arrived on a donkey, with humility he came
But in heaven our saviour does gloriously reign

My redeemer, my brother, my best friend, my Lord
His message of love should not be ignored
For just as he found comfort in the sea of the palm
Find solace in our saviour for he will bring your life calm

(Joseph Youssef)

Palm Sunday Prayer
Almighty Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, you sent your Son to be born of woman and to die on a cross, so that through the obedience of one man, estrangement might be dissolved for all men. Guide our minds by his truth, and strengthen our lives by the example of his death, that we may live in union with you in the kingdom of your promise. Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Dear Lord,
I know you're watching over me
And I'm feeling truly blessed
For no matter what I pray for
You always know what's best!

I have this circle of E-mail friends,
Who mean the world to me;
Some days I "send" and "send,"
At other times, I let them be.

I am so blessed to have these friends,
With whom I've grown so close;
So this little poem I dedicate to them,
Because to me they are the "Most"!

When I see each name download,
And view the message they've sent;
I know they've thought of me that day,
And "well wishes" were their intent.

So to you, my friends, I would like to say,
Thank you for being a part;
Of all my daily contacts,
This comes right from my heart.

God bless you is my prayer today,
I'm honored to call you "friend";
I pray the Lord will keep you safe,
Until we write again.

Closing prayer:

SINNER'S PRAYER FOR SALVATION
"Dear Lord, be merciful to me a sinner.
I believe Jesus died for my sins on the cross,
and rose again the third day.
I repent of my sins.
By faith I receive the Lord Jesus as my Savior.
You promised to save me, and I believe You,
because You are God and cannot lie.
I believe right now the Lord Jesus is my personal Savior,
and all my sins are forgiven through His precious blood.
I thank You, dear Lord, for saving my soul.
In Jesus' Name.
Amen.
