Unhappiness within comes out in an emotional reaction, unlike the happy
person
who is slow to anger. Lord, help me to glow in Your presence so that the
heat of
the moment doesn't get to me.

"The effect of righteousness will be peace, and the result of righteousness,
quietness and trust forever." ~Isaiah 32:17

"The effect of righteousness will be peace, and the result of righteousness,
quietness and trust forever." Only when the soul attains this calm, can
there be true spiritual work done, and mind and soul and body be strong to
conquer and bear all things. Peace is the result of righteousness. There
is no peace in wrong doing, but if we live the way God wants us to live,
quietness and assurance can follow. Assurance is that calmness born of a
deep certainty of God's strength available to us and in God's power to love
and guard us from all harm and wrong doing.

I pray that I may attain a state of true calmness. I pray that I may live
in quietness and peace.
Greetings to all you positive pals and grateful gals! Hope you all had a
very blessed Sunday today! We did. Weather so nice we were able to go to
Mass without coats! That was the first time this year. It was a bit chilly
to eat out in the patio though. I took a nice long nap - I don't know why I
was so tired, but that felt good! On the good news about Lorraine, she
EKG's showed her heart was not the problem, but they are still keeping her
in because she still has pain in her side and now headaches. They have to
find out the cause. Hope it isn't related to a stroke. Thanks for your
prayers for her. Her husband who has Alz is there with her at the hosp.
We got a nice blessing this afternoon when Darla called and we talked about
an hour! Thanks be to God for cell phones!! We all have Sprint so it's
always free no matter what time we call. She is so excited about our coming
visit for Easter. She's going to take us to a really good winery there, and
getting coupons for good restaurants, for Easter. She's going to cook the
other days we're there.
All vegetarian cooking - but she's a great cook! We're going to plant some
seeds yet tonight for a jump start for the garden!
WHEN I PRAY THE LORD'S PRAYER:
I cannot say OUR if I am selfish and do not think of others.
I cannot say FATHER if I do not treat my parents with respect.
I cannot say WHOM ART IN HEAVEN if all I care about are material things.
I cannot say HALLOWED BE THY NAME if I do not say the Lord's name with
reverence.
I cannot say THY KINGDOM COME, THY WILL BE DONE if I am more interested in
the things my own way.
I cannot say ON EARTH, AS IT IS IN HEAVEN if I am not ready to do His will
here on earth.
I cannot say GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD without being willing to share
what I have with others.
I cannot say FORGIVE US OUR TRESPASSES AS WE FORGIVE THOSE WHO TRESPASS
AGAINST US if I hold grudges and will not forgive others.
I cannot say DELIVER US FROM EVIL if I am not willing to walk away from
those things that are wrong and ask the Lord's help through prayer.
I cannot say THINE IS THE KINGDOM if I am not willing to accept God as a
Ruler of my Life.
I cannot say THINE IS THE POWER if I do not remember that my gifts and
talents come from God not from myself.
I cannot say THINE IS THE GLORY if I only seek my own glory and recognition.
I cannot say FOREVER AND EVER if I am only interested in what is happening
in my life right now.
I cannot say AMEN unless I can say "WHATEVER HAPPENS IN MY LIFE, THIS MY
PRAYER."
May the Good Lord bless and keep you.
May His love shine upon you.
May He hold you in the palm of His hand.
(The Lord's Prayer can be found in the bible in Matthew 6:9-13 and Luke
11:2-4.)
If Our Greatest Need Had Been...
If our greatest need had been information,
God would have sent us an educator;
If our greatest need had been technology,
God would have sent us a scientist;
If our greatest need had been money,
God would have sent us an economist;
If our greatest need had been pleasure,
God would have sent us an entertainer;
But our greatest need was forgiveness,
So God sent us a Savior.

"There in their presence, he was transfigured and his clothes became
amazingly white.." (Mk. 9:2-3)
"Listen to Him"
As Lent progresses, the shadow of the cross begins to loom. Even though the
Gospel narrates the account of the transfiguration of Jesus in glory it is
in the light of his death and resurrection that this scene is to be viewed.
The obedience of Jesus is seen to be prefigured in that of Abraham who
offered his only son. God´s promise to Abraham subsequently is also seen to
have been fulfilled in a manner beyond all expectation by his raising of
Jesus from death.
PERSONAL PRAYER
God, our heavenly Father, we see in Jesus a person who is at the same time
your only begotten Son and a human being. Help us not to lose sight of
either side of this great mystery and to keep both of its parts in balance.
May we take confidence from the fact that Jesus was a human being as we are
and like us in all things except sin and at the same time offer him the
praise and worship which is due as your only Son. We make this our prayer
through the same Jesus, the Christ, our Lord. Amen.
Short Meditation
Shining Light
The light of the Transfiguration isn't exclusively for Peter, James, and
John but for all men and women, that we might no longer be afraid of our
fragile, fallen humanity but might get up and go where the Lord is leading
us.
