Daily Positive Thread for Monday

Hello my friends! Wishing you all a very peaceful evening and Monday! Today's visit with Father Jerry was so wonderful - the highlight of our day! He is so wonderful to have around, cook for, and even have a glass of wine with - he even dictated for me for the thread of today and I typed it all out. I even saved it. He checked our health rider, said it's just like his, and we got ourselves a good one for only 25 dollars, he showed us how to use the handlebars a different way for more tension, and how he works his. So happy he was here to show us more about it! He has the chi machine like we do too, but not the tread mill. He is 76, gets up at 4:30 AM daily, gets on his health rider, does about 100 reps on it, he has a sauna there, and goes in there daily, all before saying his 7:15 Mass in the morning. Wow! That's my cousin! We are so fortunate that he is in our lives and lives in our town. I praise and thank God for him among so many other things God does for us. I thank our God for allowing us to have a good chicken dinner prepared by my dear husband on the grill, I just did the potatoes and veggies. Dessert was ice cream with our raspberries I froze. Another blessing was our Sammy! He doesn't even seem to have any more problems with his arthritis in his leg - Fr. Jerry noticed the difference and how he runs now - and begs up a storm for a treat!! He still has a cough, but it doesn't seem as often. Enough talking - now it's your turn. What blessings would you care to share with us? God is here for us all the time, and gives us so much! Praying for you all for all your needs.

Unhappiness within comes out in an emotional reaction, unlike the happy

person

who is slow to anger. Lord, help me to glow in Your presence so that the

heat of

the moment doesn't get to me.

Scripture for the day:

"The effect of righteousness will be peace, and the result of righteousness,

quietness and trust forever." ~Isaiah 32:17

Meditation for the day:

"The effect of righteousness will be peace, and the result of righteousness,

quietness and trust forever." Only when the soul attains this calm, can

there be true spiritual work done, and mind and soul and body be strong to

conquer and bear all things. Peace is the result of righteousness. There

is no peace in wrong doing, but if we live the way God wants us to live,

quietness and assurance can follow. Assurance is that calmness born of a

deep certainty of God's strength available to us and in God's power to love

and guard us from all harm and wrong doing.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may attain a state of true calmness. I pray that I may live

in quietness and peace.

A Prayer To The Holy Guardian Angels

Heavenly Father, Your infinite love for us has chosen a blessed angel in

heaven and appointed him our guide during this earthly pilgrimage. Accept

our thanks for so great a blessing. Grant that we may experience the

assistance of our holy protector in all our necessities. And you, holy,

loving angel and guide, watch over us with all the tenderness of your

angelic heart. Keep us always on the way that leads to heaven, and cease not

to pray for us until we have attained our final destiny, eternal salvation.

Then we shall love you for all eternity. We shall praise and glorify you

unceasingly for all the good you have done for us while here on earth.

Especially be a faithful and watchful protector of our children. Take our

place, and supply what may be wanting to us through human frailty,

short-sightedness, or sinful neglect. Lighten, O you perfect servants of

God, our heavy task. Guide our children, that they may become like unto

Jesus, may imitate Him faithfully, and persevere till they attain eternal

life. Amen.

Do not Lose Heart but Be Glad!

Lord Jesus, you come to us in Holy Communion in humility as a prelude to

your Second Coming in glory. Help us to hope through all the pains,

pressures and disappointments of life.

When our days are very dark, may you be our guiding light and our strong

support. When pain overwhelms us and we begin to falter, comfort us and give

us the courage to persevere in trust.

Bless all who are desperate today for whom the night was long and sleepless

and for whom the morning brought no comfort. Let them feel your presence,

Lord. Amen.

You Ask Why I Follow This Jesus?

You ask why I follow this Jesus?

Why I love Him the way I do?

When the world's turned away from His teachings

And the people who serve Him are few.

It's not the rewards I'm after

Or gifts that I hope to receive

It's the Presence that calls for commitment

It's the Spirit I trust and believe.

The Lord doesn't shelter His faithful

Or spare them all suffering and pain,

Like everyone else I have burdens,

And walk through my share of rain.

Yet He gives me a plan and a purpose,

And that joy only Christians have known,

I never know what comes tomorrow,

But I do know I'm never alone.

It's the love always there when you need it;

It's the words that redeem and inspire,

It's the longing to ever be with Him

That burns in my heart like a fire.

So you ask why I love my Lord Jesus?

Well, friend, that's so easy to see,

But the one thing that fills me with wonder is

Why Jesus loves someone like me.

Rainbow

The way I see it, if you want the rainbow....

you have to put up with the rain.

What soap is to the body....

laughter is to the soul.

Fill your cup with kindness....

and give it to yourself.

Help others get ahead.

You will always stand taller with

someone else on your shoulders.

You cannot do kindness too soon,

for you never know how soon it will be too late.

Each day, rise, shine and sparkle,

and you'll make the whole world a much brighter place.

If you can't make it through one door,

I'll go through another door or

I'll create a door.

Something terrific will come no matter how dark the present.

Think highly of yourself, because the world takes you at your own estimate.

A positive attitude is contagious but don't wait to catch it from others, Be

a carrier.

Remember: You deserve a little lift!

There is always chocolate and a better tomorrow.

Laughter is the sensation of feeling good all over and showing it

principally in one place.

Life isn't about finding yourself.

Life is about creating yourself.

In matters of style, swim with the current.

In matters of principle stand like a rock. -

I've learned....

The best classroom in the world is at the feet of an elderly person.

I've learned....

That when you're in love, it shows.

I've learned....

That just one person saying to me, "You've made my day!" makes my day.

feelings in the world.

That simple walks with my father around the block on summer nights when I

was a child did wonders for me as an adult.

I've learned....

Life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer it gets to the end, the

faster it goes.

I've learned....

That we should be glad God doesn't give us everything we ask for.

That money doesn't buy class.

I've learned....

It's those small daily happenings that make life so spectacular.

and loved .

That the Lord didn't do it all in one day. What makes me think I can?

I've learned....

That to ignore the facts does not change the facts.

I've learned....

That when you plan to get even with someone, you are only letting that

person continue to hurt you.

I've learned....

That love, not time, heals all wounds.

That the easiest way for me to grow as a person is to surround myself

with people smarter than I am.

she passed away.

I've learned....

That one should keep his words both soft and tender, because tomorrow he

may have to eat them.

I've learned....

That a smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks.

I've learned....

That I can't choose how I feel but I can choose what I do about it.

I've learned....

That when your newly born grandchild holds your little finger in his

little fist, that you're hooked for life.

I've learned....

That everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness

and growth occurs while you're climbing it.

I've learned ...

That it is best to give advice in only two circumstances; when it is

requested and when it is a life threatening situation.

I've learned....

That the less time I have to work with, the more things I get done.

Let Go .....

To "LET GO" Does not mean to stop caring, it means I can't do it for someone

else.

To "LET GO" Is not to cut myself off, it's the realization that I can't

control another human being.

To "LET GO" Is not to enable, but to allow someone to learn from their

natural consequences.

To "LET GO" Is to admit powerlessness , which means the outcome is not in my

hands.

To "LET GO" Is not to try to change or blame another, but to make the most

of myself.

To "LET GO" Is not to care for, but to care about.

To "LET GO" Is not to fix, but to be supportive, and not violate my values.

To "LET GO" Is not to judge, but to allow another to be a human being.

To "LET GO" Is not to be in the middle, arranging all the outcomes , but to

allow God to work in the lives of others.

To "LET GO" Is not to be protective, it's to permit another to face reality.

To "LET GO" Is not to deny, but to accept .

To "LET GO" Is not to nag, scold or argue with another person, but instead

to search out my own shortcomings and allow God to correct them.

To "LET GO" Does not mean to deny the shortcomings in others, but to accept

others unconditionally in love.

To "LET GO" Is not to adjust everything to my desires, but to accept each

day as it comes; knowing God offers it to me for growth.

To "LET GO" Is not to criticize or regulate anybody, but to try to become

the person I understand God wants me to be.

To "LET GO" Does not mean to compete against another human being, but

rather, to compete within myself to learn "self- control" through

circumstances God brings into my life.

To "LET GO" Does mean to fear less and love more.

To "LET GO" Means I don't demand my own way, but that I hold firm to my

values and beliefs-- while allowing others the same privilege.

To "LET GO" Doesn't mean that I expect God to do everything for me, but that

I let God show me how to do His will for my life.
