Daily Positive Thread for Monday

Enthusiasm will be yours if you love God, love people, and love life.
Lord, the nearer I follow Your way, the happier I become.

"I have said this to you, so that in me you may have peace. In the
world you face persecution. But take courage; I have conquered the
world!" We can keep an undaunted spirit. We can keep our spirit free
and unconquered. We can be undefeated and untouched by failure and
all its power, by letting our spirit overcome the world. We can rise
above the earth's turmoil into the secret place of perfect peace and
confidence. When a challenge comes to us, we can remember that we have
God's help and nothing can wholly defeat us.

I pray that I may have confidence and be of good cheer. I pray that I
may not fear the power of failure.

Hello my friends - Wonderful Mass - wonderful homily - nice visit after Mass
with friends, good start of the day! Father mentioned we should pick a
Saint to help us walk thru Holy Week, like Peter, John who was at the Cross,
etc. and Mary. I chose Mary. Linus chose Peter. Thought this was a great
idea. Got palms but wish I knew how to decorate them up like my sisters
can.
Guess I need more than a couple of sticks. Ok - Deb, our friend, came over
with a DVD today and she did get the DVD going on the machine, we watched
one section, but for the second section there is an arrow that the remote is
supposed to control to move it down but it doesn't do anything, so we got
stuck there. We'll just have to take the remotes in where we bought the
machine to see how to do it. There is a robin who wants to build her next
right on our porch light by the front door - and she is so insistent, yet
her twigs keep falling down. Thought I'd make it easier for her by putting
a stool under it so she could make her nest on the stool, but when I went
out to peek, all the twigs I put there are gone and nothing is up on the
light either, so maybe she found another place, and the heck with that
stool! It's fun to watch the birds when I can. It's been a quiet day then
after she left - I got in a nap, and we have our prayers finished for the
night now and next I'll be typing out the Padre Pio reflection for my list.
Another blessing today - when I cleaned off the counter this morning - here
there was an Easter Card that Ann and Ray gave us, it was still sealed, and
we never saw it before this morning!! She came in with a bouquet of
daffodils which look so pretty on our table.

Palm Sunday Prayer
Almighty Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, you sent your Son to be born of
woman and to die on a cross, so that through the obedience of one man,
estrangement might be dissolved for all men. Guide our minds by his truth,
and strengthen our lives by the example of his death, that we may live in
union with you in the kingdom of your promise. Grant this through Christ our
Lord. Amen.

Palm Sunday, in Christianity, is the Sunday before Easter.
It is the first day of the Holy Week. Palm Sunday celebrates
the story of Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem,
where people spread palm leaves and clothing before Him.

Please, take a few moments to picture in your mind
Jesus riding into Jerusalem on a donkey,
and people welcoming him with Palm leaves.
Over the next few days Jesus would be crucified
and then rise from the dead.

May you have a blessed Palm Sunday!

Loving God,
I am just beginning to realize how much you love me.
Your son, Jesus was humble and obedient.
He fulfilled your will for him by becoming human and suffering with us.
I ask you for the desire to become more humble
so that my own life might also bear witness to you.
I want to use the small sufferings I have in this world
to give you glory.

Please, Lord, guide my mind with your truth.
Strengthen my life by the example of Jesus.
Help me to be with Jesus in this week
as he demonstrates again his total love for me.
He died so that I would no longer
be separated from you.
Help me to feel how close you are
and to live in union with you.

Sayings of Mother Teresa

We all long for heaven where God Is,
but we have it in our power to be in heaven with him right now,
to be happy with him at this very moment.
But being happy with him now means loving as he loves,
helping as he helps, giving as he gives, serving as he serves,
rescuing as he rescues, being with him for all the twenty-four hours,
touching him in his distressing disguise.

Christ is my life, I caused his death;
He is my assurance and eternal rest.
He is my Redeemer, I was his damnation;
He has chosen me since before creation.
He is my comfort, I caused his pain;
He broke the bonds that sin might not reign.
He is all my blessing, I was once his curse;
I would never love him, had he not loved me first.

Thank-You God for being my Comforter,
When my soul was weak
and the tears wouldn't stop,
When my heart was aching with pain
and I was searching for refuge,
When my spirit was broken beyond repair
and I felt lost and hopeless,
Thank-You for Joy.
Thank-You God for being my Teacher,
When I was ignorant to the Lessons of Life
and rebuked wisdom,
When I was rebellious against your principles
and rejected morality,
When I was hindered by obstacles
and blinded by self-doubt,
Thank-You for Knowledge.
Thank-You God for being my Spiritual Guide,
When I chose the wrong path to tread
and lost sight of my purpose,
When I didn't know the power of faith, prayer,
and forgiveness,
When I didn't know how to surrender all my
anger, fears, and temptations,
Thank-You for your Guidance.
Thank-You God for being my Counselor,
When I didn't know how to acknowledge nor
express my feelings,
When I chose Sin over Self-Love,
Thank-You for Revelations, Awakenings, & Resolutions.
Thank-You God

PRAYER IS:

~~~surrender to the influence of the Holy Spirit,
becoming calm, recollected in order to grow
docile as He prays in us........
~~~making way for Someone greater than we, letting
the Son's joy and love for the Father awaken
in us and fill us to overflowing........

~~~allowing the Spirit-the Son's love for the Father
-to spring from heart to lips....Authentic prayer
must echo the Son's love..........
~~~placing ourselves at God's disposal for a moment
or two, so that He can accomplish in us what He
has always wanted to do...but we've never given
Him the chance.......

~~~most simply, being 'with' God. Believing in
His loving presence even when not feeling it,
and trying to be present to Him in faith, in
loving attention, in mysterious oneness.......
