If you think success and really believe it will happen, you will perform in
a manner
that leads to success. Lord, may I always avoid negative thoughts and
visualize
myself in the manner that You intended for me.


Scripture for the day:

"Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I
will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am
gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my
yoke is easy, and my burden is light." ~Matthew 11:28-30

Meditation for the day:

The way sometimes seems long and wary. So many people today are weary. The
weariness of others can often be shared by me. The weary and the
heavy-laden, when they come to me, can be helped to find the rest that I
have found. There is only one sure cure for world-weariness and that is
turning to spiritual things. In order to help bring about the turning of
the weary world to God, I can dare to suffer, dare to conquer selfishness in
myself, and dare to be filled with spiritual peace in the face of all the
weariness of the world.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may be a help to discouraged people. I pray that I may have
the courage to help bring about what the weary world needs but does not know
how to get.

Hello my friends! Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas - celebrating His
Birth! We did - so nice to have the family home - Christmas Eve was the
traditional pizza making - the girls made three different kinds, all
delicious! Christmas Day was over at Lori's - she and Darla cooked Chinese.
Also very delicious. They made marshmellows from scratch from a recipe on
line, to make S'mores. So when the marshmellows dried on the cookie sheet
over night - Lori cut them in stars and melted chocolate and spread on
graham crackers, with the white star on top. Very pretty and tasty! That
was something different we did this year. Not the usual almond bark stuff -
being we couldn't find almond bark at the store we were in.
So how was your Christmas? We enjoyed no snow here at all!! Weather was
gorgeous! Darla and Greg leave Wednesday - he is driving home with her -
another answered prayer. He doesn't have to go back to NJ until after the
first of the year. He designed a printing press which is set up there now.
So glad she doesn't have to drive back alone.

And show me how to have the "old me" truly be dead.

A Christmas Day Prayer
Praise to You, Lord God!

You have become one of us -- You have become a human being, while still
retaining all your power and holiness as God!

You, O Lord, made the journey of the unborn child. By being an embryo, a
fetus, and a newborn, you joined all unborn and newborn children to you!

From the beginning of history, O Lord, You were the Creator of every human
life. Now, with Christmas, You join Yourself in an unthinkable way with the
life You created.

Let this Christmas, O God, fill all of us with awe and wonder at how close
human life is to You. Cleanse the world of all that tarnishes and rejects
this gift. Purify our hearts of all that fears this gift.

Let our Christmas joy be the joy of welcoming every human life! Amen!

Happy Birthday Jesus!

A House so quiet so humble

Daddy said that you were near

The Holy Family

December 25 - Christmas (family holiness)

Sweet Jesus, You were born in a stable to become divine light in a dark,
sinful world. Your little holy family was full of love, grace, kindness, and
generosity. I ask Mary and Joseph to pray for my family to grow in the
virtues that spring from unconditional love. I also ask them to pray for the
growth of our faith. O Savior, increase our unity and give us a shared
devotion to Your Holy Family. Purify me and teach me to identify my sins and
change my ways so that Your light increases within me. Show me how to let
Your light shine so brightly that my family sees You and is transformed by
Your presence. Holy Family, pray for us. Amen.
