Hello my friends!!! Just got home a bit ago, we were at our friend's home. Friends we met at a retreat in 1983, and they are life-long friends! Harold has Alzheimer's - and getting worse, it's so hard on Lorraine who is his care-giver and wife. We had a good visit with them all, us three couples used to do alot of things together like going to the State Fair yearly, until Harold got too bad to take him. Anyway, it was nice being with them today and the weather was perfect!! We sat out by their bon fire for awhile - had a great supper and played some cards and visited and came home. Lots of blessings today!
Unhappiness within comes out in an emotional reaction, unlike the happy
person
who is slow to anger. Lord, help me to glow in Your presence so that the
heat of
the moment doesn't get to me.
Scripture for the day:
"Therefore prepare your minds for action; discipline yourselves; set
all your hope on the grace that Jesus Christ will bring you when he is
revealed. Like obedient children, do not be conformed to the desires
that you formerly had in ignorance. Instead, as he who called you is
holy, be holy yourselves in all your conduct; for it is written, 'You
shall be holy, for I am holy.'" ~1 Peter 1:13-16
Meditation for the day:
No work is of much value without preparation. Every spiritual work is
best if it has behind it much spiritual preparation. If we cut short
times of prayer and times of spiritual preparation, many hours of work
may be profitless. One poor tool working all the time, but doing bad
work because of lack of preparation, is of small value compared with
the sharp, keen, perfect instrument working for only a short time, but
which turns out perfect work because of long hours of spiritual
preparation.
Prayer for the day:
I pray that I may spend more time alone with God. I pray that I may
get more strength and joy from such times, so that they will add much
to my work.
Parable Of The Pencil
The Pencil Maker took the pencil aside, just before putting it into the box.
There are five things you need to know, he told the pencil, before I send
you out into the world. Always remember them and never forget, and you will
become the best pencil you can be.
[1] You will be able to do many great things, but only if you allow yourself
to be held in Someone's hand.
[2] You will experience a painful sharpening from time to time, but you'll
need it to become a better pencil.
[3] You will be able to correct mistakes you will make.
[4] The most important part of you will always be what's inside.
[5] On every surface you are used on, you must leave your mark. No matter
what the condition, you must continue to write.
The pencil understood and promised to remember, and went into the box with
purpose in its heart.
Now replacing the place of the pencil with you; always remember them and
never forget, and you will become the best person you can be.
[1] You will be able to do many great things, but only if you allow yourself
to be held in God's hand. And allow other human beings to access you for the
many gifts you possess.
[2] You will experience a painful sharpening from time to time, by going
through various problems, but you'll need it to become a stronger person.
[3] You will be able to correct mistakes you might make or grow through
them.
[4] The most important part of you will always be what's on the inside.
[5] On every surface you walk, you must leave your mark. No matter what the
situation, you must continue to serve God in everything.

Family Prayer
God made us a family.
We need one another.
We love one another.
We forgive one another.
We work together
We play together
We worship together.
Together we use God's word
Together we grow in Christ
Together we love all people
Together we serve our God
Together we hope for Heaven.
These are our hopes and ideals
Help us to attain them, O God,
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen
THE CLIFF HANGER
Author Unknown
A man named Jack was walking along a steep cliff one day when he
accidentally got too close to the edge and fell. On the way down he
grabbed a branch, which temporarily stopped his fall. He looked down
and, to his horror, saw that the canyon fell straight down for more
than a thousand feet. He couldn't hang onto the branch forever, and
there was no way for him to climb up the steep wall of the cliff.
So Jack began yelling for help, hoping that someone passing by would
hear him and lower a rope or something. HELP! HELP! Is anyone up
there? "HELP!" He yelled for a long time, but no one heard him. He was
about to give up when he heard a voice.
"Jack, Jack. Can you hear me?"
"Yes, yes! I can hear you. I'm down here!"
"I can see you, Jack. Are you all right?"
"Yes, but who are you, and where are you?
"I am the Lord, Jack. I'm everywhere."
"The Lord? You mean, GOD?"
"That's Me."
"God, please help me! I promise if, you'll get me down from here, I'll
stop sinning. I'll be a really good person. I'll serve You for the
rest of my life."
Easy on the promises, Jack. Let's get you off from there; then we can
talk." "Now, here's what I want you to do. Listen carefully."
"I'll do anything, Lord. Just tell me what to do."
"Okay. Let go of the branch."
"What?"
"I said, let go of the branch." Just trust Me. Let go."
There was a long silence. Finally Jack yelled, "HELP! HELP! IS ANYONE
ELSE UP THERE?"
Have you ever felt like Jack? We say that we want to know the will of
God, but when we find out what it is, we can't handle it. Sounds too
scary--too difficult. We decide to look elsewhere. When He says, "Let
go of the things that stand between you and Me, and trust Me with your
life," it sounds pretty scary. But when we let go, we find freedom and
safety in His hands."
Thank you. Have a Blessed Day . . . and remember that Jesus Loves You
and so do I--and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it,
except to pass it on . . . and GOD BLESS YOU!
"No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has
prepared for those who love him." (1 Corinthians 2:9)
Thank God for Miracles
It took a miracle from above
To create the world we see,
And it took a miracle of love
When Christ died on Calvary.
It took a miracle of God's power
To raise Jesus from the grave,
And it takes a miracle this hour…
For a lost soul to be saved…
Thank God for Miracles.
Yes, it takes a miracle of grace
To redeem a sinful soul,
And a wondrous miracle takes place
When God warms a heart grown cold.
Our Lord is good at miracles, friend,
His love and mercy are great,
His arm is stretched out to heal and mend…
And lift to a holy state…
Thank God for Miracles.
When we humbly serve our Lord each day,
And walk on the righteous path,
We see miracles along the way…
Souls saved from judgment and wrath.
Nothing is too hard for our great God
Who gives life forevermore…
Receive Jesus Christ, the Son of God,
And you'll enter heaven's door...
Thank God for Miracles.
Meditations by Padre Pio
Science, my son, for all its greatness in nevertheless a small thing; and
less than nothing compared to the formidable mystery of the Divinity. You
must take another road. Cleanse your heart of every earthly passion, humble
yourself in the dust and pray! In this way you will certainly find God, who
will give you peace and serenity in this life and eternal beatitude in the
next.
Mother Teresa Said...
I always begin my prayer in silence, for it is in the silence of the heart
that God speaks.
God is the friend of silence - we need to listen to God because it’s not
what we say
but what He says to us and through us that matters.
Prayer feeds the soul - as blood is to the body, prayer is the soul - and it
brings you closer to God.
It also gives you a clean and pure heart.
A clean heart can see God, can speak to God, and can see the love of God in
others.

Hello everyone,
Hope everyone has a blessed Memorial Day. It is a day for us to take time, to reflect and honor all of our Military. Whether it's the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, or the Coast Guard, we honor all of them who gave their all. I am so thankful for the time and love they have given to our great country The United States Of America. Please take time to remember their familes. As we go through life, we all have struggles, and hardships...but let us also ask God to help them with their struggles and hardships.
Later today I will go in to work. It's a blessing to have this job. Another blessing we had a fox in our back yard. Don't see that everyday, lol! Oh and my son was exempt from final exams, so he got out of school a week early, his last day was the 16th.
Keeping all in my prayers.
Go2girl, continue prayers for your grandbaby, and for a safe journey.
Shosh, always good to see you. Were so thankful to have you...you are so full of knowledge, and always ready to share.
Felicia, prayers continue for you and your loved ones.
Shorelady, prayers continue for you and your dh.
Gloriajean, Cakers, Lucy, Harlene, Bobbisue and anyone that I might not of mentioned, prayers always.
Until next time...
Take care, be safe, and God Bless!

Gloriajean: I almost skipped by this thread this morning - I thought it might be an old one. lol Hope you didn't mind my shoutout about the title.
It is pouring today and flash flooding will be a problem. We were going to attend a service at one of the bases, but it's rained out. There is also a new VietNam memorial we want to see but again, no go this week-end. So we are just hunkered down but the rain really is nice - we need it badly. Some counties are almost out of water down here and this morning the news reported that 30% of the whole country is in drought.
Have a wonderful day, everyone.
God bless our troops and a very heartfelt thanks to all who have served.

Juanita - We're not going anywhere today - Linus is busy with the gardening, cleaning garage etc. and I decided to get back to baking bread again - got some oatmeal bread rising now. Remembering my Dad who served in WW1 and brother in law who served in WW2 and my niece who died of cancer buried at the military cemetary because her husband was a Marine. She died at 45, he never remarried. He married her when he was 19 with is Marine Uniform on! My sister, Deil, made her Wedding Gown!! They were married 25 years before she got the breast cancer and tried everything, even a bone marrow transplant, but died anyway. She is buried right there by her Dad and my parents.
Cakers - good thing to told me that because when I did the thread last night late, I was tired, and just wasn't thinking straight!!! Always let me know when I goof!!! Glad you're getting the rain you need there - today is a beautiful day out so far, but rain is in the forecast for the next 3 days!! Linus wants to spray paint stain on the arbor and fence etc. but it says not to let it get wet for 24 hours, so he thinks he'd better wait. It should rain today or tonight yet.
Yes, God bless our Troops!!!
