When your burden seems heavier than usual, know that your blessings
are more than usual. Lord, I call on you for the strength, the wisdom
and the confidence that I will need today.
Scripture for the day:
"When they saw him walking on the sea, they thought it was a ghost and cried
out; for they all saw him and were terrified. But immediately he spoke to
them and said, 'Take heart, it is I; do not be afraid.'" ~Mark 6:49-50
Meditation for the day:
I can take the most crowded day without fear. I believe that God is with me
and controlling all. I can let confidence be the motif running through all
the crowded day. I need not be worried, because I know that God is my
helper. Underneath are the everlasting arms of God. I can rest in them,
even though the day be full of things crowding in upon me.
Prayer for the day:
I pray that I may be calm and let nothing upset me. I pray that I may not
let material things control me and choke out spiritual things.
Peace and Love, everyone! Lots of positive thoughts and prayers going out to each and every one of you. Do you feel it? Hope you do.
Positive energy can do wonders along with prayer. Tomorrow is Friday - the week seemed long for me but Sunday night Linus comes home and then, we'll set a date for Jesse to come to put the house up for sale. Unless we win a lottery! Everything is in God's Hands! Relevant Radio has been keeping me company - haven't had the TV on at all. It's been off all Lent and still is, see? I don't miss it. It's been quiet here today, very quiet, but Linus did call tonight and another time today so that was nice, and Lori. My blessings today are the phone calls and your fellowship here! Thank you! Oh and the sun today bringing the 60 degree weather for a change! It's been in the 30's and 40's.

Let Him Raise Up What´s Best in You!
by Monsignor Dennis Clark, Ph.D.
Acts 3:11-26 / Lk 24:35-48
The resurrection of Jesus thoroughly transformed the apostles. Not only were they able to step outside their fears and preach the good news of Jesus courageously, but they were able to look at the world and at their fellow countrymen with more generous hearts. After both the anguish and the fright of Jesus’ death, followed in turn by the vindication of Jesus’ resurrection, they could easily have settled into a vengeful “I told you so” attitude.
Instead, they extended to one and all the hand of friendship and forgiveness, just as Jesus had done to them when they didn’t deserve it either. That was a real change of heart and a dawning of wisdom for those men who had so often bickered about who would get the best places in Jesus’ kingdom.
It’s the kind of change of heart and dawning of wisdom that we all hope for, and it can be ours if we lay ourselves open to the touch of God’s grace.
Open your heart to the risen Lord, and let him raise up what’s best in you.
Meditation on Easter Thursday
Readings: Acts 3:11-26; Luke 24:35-48
Charity is not simply liking someone; it is not outward kindness. Charity is to seek the good of the loved one, to give oneself to the loved one. Sacrifice is the price and measure of charity.
This terse definition must make us sit up! Are we as charitable as we think we are? Well, no, but also yes. My personal opinion is that most wives have a good degree--perhaps a high degree--of charity in the sense that they seek the good of their spouse and family during their 80-hour weeks and for thirty, forty, fifty or more years. It is second nature for them to serve, to clean up, to bear patiently the inevitable family limitations.
A LOVE STORY
Author Unknown
Once upon a time, there was an island where all the feelings lived;
Happiness, Sadness, Knowledge, and all the others, including Love. One
day it was announced to the feelings that the island would sink, so all
repaired their boats and left.
Love wanted to persevere until the last possible moment. When the
island was almost sinking, Love decided to ask for help. Richness was passing
by Love in a grand boat. Love said "Richness, can you take me with you?"
Richness answered, "No, I can't. There is a lot of silver in my boat.
There is no place here for you."
Love decided to ask Vanity who was also passing by in a beautiful
vessel.
"Vanity, please help me!" "I can't help you Love. You are all wet and
might damage my boat," Vanity answered.
Sadness was close by so Love asked for help, "Sadness, let me go with
you."
"Oh....Love, I am so sad that I need to be by myself."
Happiness passed by Love too, but she was so happy that she did not
even hear when Love called her!
Suddenly there was a voice, "Come Love, I will take you." It was an
elder.
Love felt so blessed and overjoyed that he even forgot to ask the
elder his name. When they arrived at dry land, the elder went his own way.
Love realizing how much he owed the elder, asked Knowledge, another
elder.
"Who helped me?" "It was Time," Knowledge answered. "Time?" asked
Love.
"But why did Time help me?" Knowledge smiled with deep wisdom and
answered,
"Because, only Time is capable of understanding how great Love is."
1. God Can't force you to love Him.
God is the one all powerful force in the universe. He Created the universe out of nothing, and made us out of the dust of His Creation. He holds together every cell in your body, every atom in every cell. He gives you each breath that you take, He causes every beat of your heart, but He won't force you to Love Him. He gave us the free will to chose Him, or to reject Him. You can chose to love Him and allow His love into your life, or you can chose to be separated from Him for eternity. While this seems like such a simple choice, millions of people chose to live their lives without Him and will never feel His infinite power and love.
2. God Can't Lie.
God is the absolute definition of Truth. When God speaks, it is the truth. His Word is Truth and His Son is Truth. If you read Prophecy in the Bible, You will see that even the most obscure things in it are coming coming to pass. Things that most people wrote off as symbolism due to the odds against them actually literally happening. The areas that science thought they had disproved, have been found to be real. When God says he will return for His flock, He means it. When He says he will punish those whose sins are not covered by Jesus' Blood, He means it! You can trust the Bible and every Word and Promise in it.
3. God Can't Learn.
That means that you can't disappoint Him! He knows everything about you. Everything you've done and most importantly, everything you're going to do! Many people think that God is disappointed in them when they make a mistake, or commit a sin. The reality is, He already knew you were going to do that, and He knew the very day and hour you were going to slip up! You might be shocked and surprised at your behavior, but God isn't. He already saw it and it was already covered by the Blood of Jesus Christ on the Cross.
It's comforting to me to understand that God knows my deepest darkest sins and thoughts, that He knew them 2000 years ago, and He still chose to love me and suffer in my place.
The ABC´s of Mercy
Ask for His Mercy. God wants us to approach Him in prayer constantly, repenting of our sins and asking Him to pour His mercy out upon us and upon the whole world.
Be Merciful to Others. God wants us to receive His mercy and let it flow through us to others. He wants us to extend love and forgiveness to others just as He does to us.
Completely Trust in Jesus. God wants us to know that the graces of His mercy are dependent upon our trust. The more we trust in Jesus, the more we will receive.
Today's Inspirational:
Just Like Me
Dear Lord, forgive our yielding to temptation;
Forgive our pride, our love of worldly things.
Have mercy on our love of sensual pleasure,
Compassion on the sins that self love brings.
It must be hard to understand us sometimes;
So very different is your heart and mind.
But wait, I just remembered that you do know
What it’s like to be a part of humankind.
You suffered just like we do, and you were tempted.
You lived with us so you could comprehend
The things that we go through each trying day,
So you could give us mercy, and be our friend.
Thank you for compassion and forgiveness;
Thank you for your love and empathy.
Thank you, Lord, for coming down from heaven
To experience life’s trials, just like me.
By Joanna Fuchs
Closing prayer:
Easter Prayer
God our Father, maker of all, the crown of your creation was the Son of Man, born of a woman, but without beginning; He suffered for us but lives for ever. May our mortal lives be crowned with the ultimate joy of rising with him, who is Lord for ever and ever. Amen.
