Hello my friends! Today's blessing was good weather - up to the 40's and Lori had her eye appointment - and she's fine now. Praise the Lord! She can drive now so she drove home tonight with her Ollie and Phoebe, the cat. It was nice having her here. Last night I had both girls here overnight, it was nice. I still haven't heard from Darla yet about the interview or flight home yet, maybe tomorrow.
Keep your feet firmly planted in your faith and your eyes raised to the
heavens.
Lord, You are my strength, my encouragement and my source of all that is
good.
Scripture for the day:
"To you, O LORD, I lift up my soul. O my God, in you I trust; do not let me
be put to shame." ~Psalm 25:1-2
Meditation for the day:
I can link up my frail nature with God's limitless power. I can link my
life with God's force for good in the world. It is not the passionate
appeal that gains God's attention as much as the quiet placing of our
difficulties and worries in God's hands. So I can trust God like a child
who places its tangled skein of wool in the hands of a loving mother to
unravel. We can please God more by our unquestioning confidence than by
imploring God for help.
Prayer for the day:
I pray that I may put all my difficulties in God's hands and leave them
there. I pray that I may fully trust God to take care of them.
Prayer for Discernment:
O Lord,
I do not know what to ask you.
You alone know my real needs,
and you love me more
than I even know how to love.
Enable me to discern my true needs
which are hidden from me.
I ask for neither cross nor consolation;
I wait in patience for you.
My heart is open to you.
For your great mercy's sake,
come to me and help me.
Put your mark on me and heal me,
cast me down and raise me up.
Silently I adore your holy will
and your inscrutable ways.
I offer myself in sacrifice to you
and put all my trust in you.
I desire only to do your will.
Teach me how to pray
and pray in me, yourself.
--Vasily Drosdov Philaret, c. 1780 - 1867
Lord Jesus, give me your peace
Give me confidence in the depths of danger.
Give me hope when I am surrounded by fear.
Still my worries, calm the anxieties pressing in on me from the world I live
in.
Reassure me that you are with me when I seem alone.
Ease my doubting, as you did Thomas'.
Guide my searching for peace,
so that I may not seek it where it is not to be found,
but I may seek it in you.
Lord Jesus, live in me and give me your peace.
Amen
PRAYER TO BEGIN THE DAY
As Morning breaks I think of you, O Lord, and my desire is to serve You
joyfully. With gladness, I consecrate this day to Your Sacred Heart, and
offer whatever joys and sacrifices may come my way. Thank You for the graces
You will send - all the love, all the beauty, and the ways You will answer
my prayers.
Today, may I love my enemies, and treat others as I would ask to be treated;
may I forgive seventy-times-seven and show mercy; may I welcome the
prodigal, have compassion for the Samaritan; be a peace-maker and love my
neighbor unconditionally. Take all my heart, and mind and strength, O Lord,
that this day may be truly lived for Your greater honor and glory and for
the salvation of souls. Amen.
WHEN I PRAY THE LORD'S PRAYER:
I cannot say OUR if I am selfish and do not think of others.
I cannot say FATHER if I do not treat my parents with respect.
I cannot say WHOM ART IN HEAVEN if all I care about are material things.
I cannot say HALLOWED BE THY NAME if I do not say the Lord's name with
reverence.
I cannot say THY KINGDOM COME, THY WILL BE DONE if I am more interested in
the things my own way.
I cannot say ON EARTH, AS IT IS IN HEAVEN if I am not ready to do His will
here on earth.
I cannot say GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD without being willing to share
what I have with others.
I cannot say FORGIVE US OUR TRESPASSES AS WE FORGIVE THOSE WHO TRESPASS
AGAINST US if I hold grudges and will not forgive others.
I cannot say DELIVER US FROM EVIL if I am not willing to walk away from
those things that are wrong and ask the Lord's help through prayer.
I cannot say THINE IS THE KINGDOM if I am not willing to accept God as a
Ruler of my Life.
I cannot say THINE IS THE POWER if I do not remember that my gifts and
talents come from God not from myself.
I cannot say THINE IS THE GLORY if I only seek my own glory and recognition.
I cannot say FOREVER AND EVER if I am only interested in what is happening
in my life right now.
I cannot say AMEN unless I can say "WHATEVER HAPPENS IN MY LIFE, THIS MY
PRAYER."
May the Good Lord bless and keep you.
May His love shine upon you.
May He hold you in the palm of His hand.
(The Lord's Prayer can be found in the bible in Matthew 6:9-13 and Luke
11:2-4.)
JUST FIVE MORE MINUTES
Author Unknown
While at the park one day, a woman sat down next to a man on a bench
near a playground. "That's my son over there," she said, pointing to a
little boy in a red sweater who was gliding down the slide.
"He's a fine looking boy" the man said. "That's my daughter on the
bike in the white dress." Then, looking at his watch, he called to his
daughter.
"What do you say we go, Melissa?"
Melissa pleaded, "Just five more minutes, Dad. Please? Just five more
minutes."
The man nodded and Melissa continued to ride her bike to her heart's
content.
Minutes passed and the father stood and called again to his daughter.
"Time to go now?"
Again Melissa pleaded, "Five more minutes, Dad. Just five more
minutes."
The man smiled and said, "O.K."
"My, you certainly are a patient father," the woman responded.
The man smiled and then said, "Her older brother Tommy was killed by a
drunk driver last year while he was riding his bike near here. I never
spent much time with Tommy and now I'd give anything for just five
more minutes with
him. I've vowed not to make the same mistake with Melissa. She thinks
she has five more minutes to ride her bike. The truth is, I get Five
more minutes to watch her play."
Life is all about making priorities, what are your priorities?
Give someone you love 5 more minutes of your time today

Good Morning, Gloria! I am so happy to read that Lori is doing well. Also I hope that Darla got the job and you hear from her soon.
It is nice when the kids come home, isn't it? I still to this day miss having my children under our roof, even though it is many years since they lived with us. When they come home, I cherish the time I get to spend with them. It's just like old times.... I have always thought being a mother is my most cherished gift from God...
I hope everyone has a beautiful weekend and that your weather holds up so you can get out of the house.... There were a few weeks there, where going out was very difficult. Here is to a beautiful Spring weekend!
Blessing to everyone who posts on this lovely thread...
May all your prayers be answered...

Serenity - I so agree with you that being a Mother is a cherished gift from God! I'm happy I got at least two of my own. We did have the adoptions papers out and then I got pregnant with Darla and Lori came 18 months later!! What blessings! I've prayed and I'm putting Darla in God's hands for the job. He knows best.
Topaz - so nice to see you!!! Hope you post with us more in the future! God bless you!
Felicia? How are you, dear?
