Daily Positive Thread for Friday

The moment of absolute certainty over decisions made never arrives, so make
your decision and move on. Lord, grant me wisdom and confidence in making
my choices and the ability to recognize when new decisions need to be made.

"For the LORD God is a sun and shield; he bestows favor and honor. No
good thing does the LORD withhold from those who walk uprightly."
~Psalm 84:11

M E D I T A T I O N F O R T H E D A Y

God is good. We can often tell whether or not a thing is of God. If it
is of God, it must be good. Honesty, purity, unselfishness, and love
are all good. Unselfish helpfulness is good, and these things all lead
to the abundant life. We can leave in God's hands the present and the
future,
knowing that only God is good. God can bring order out of chaos, good
out
of evil, and peace out of turmoil. We can believe that everything
really good comes from God and that God shares God's goodness with us.

I pray that I may reach out for the good. I pray that I may try to
choose the best in life.

Hello my friends! How was your day? Today was very nice out, but now it turned colder and windy - guess it didn't last very long, but we all know it will come back because we have to have Spring! Today Linus called his brother, Ron, and asked if he could come and help him get that Cal. closet thing ready for Lori's closet and he came and they finished it together, now there's just staining and varnishing left for tomorrow and hoping Lori can help him move it to her place tomorrow. It turned out nice. She will be happy. Today's blessings for us both were two special Valentines - came from Texas!! How nice!! Darla wrote such nice things in each one. What a blessing and surprise! I bet she sent one to Lori, too. I wonder what she got from Greg and what she gave him. I'll find out.
Hope you all had a good day today and those who aren't feeling well, hope tomorrow you will feel much better!! Praying for all of you for all your intentions with the Daily Rosary.

Stay on Message
by Monsignor Dennis Clark, Ph.D.
Gn 9:1-13 / Mk 8:27-33

We seem to have arrived at a point in our history where the political campaigns are continuous and there is barely a pause between one election and preparations for the next. In such a culture, we pick up fragments of consultant-speak which occasionally are quite helpful. A case in point is the injunction, “stay on message.” Don’t get distracted, don’t forget your mission, and don’t let anybody pull you away from what you know you’re about.

It’s very good advice, not just for politicians, but for good Christians everywhere. And we see it in the flesh in today’s gospel. Jesus has just told the group where he’s headed and how his life and ministry are going to end up. Quite understandably, they are appalled. Peter speaks for the whole group when he says, “No, this can’t be!”

Peter loves Jesus, and Jesus knows it, which makes Peter’s opposition all the harder for Jesus to face, but face it he does — sternly. He is frightened and he is agonizing and he needs all the support he can get, but even when that support appears to evaporate he does not falter. He remembers his mission, his vocation, and he stays on message. He stays true. What a remarkable model and source of strength he is for us.

Lord, help us to be faithful as you are faithful, and true as you are true.

Change Me

Dear Lord change not Thy will in my life,
Or trial and sorrows to be;
Renew my faith and make me strong,
Change not Thy will, change me.

Though teardrops fall when trouble comes,
Like storms on a rolling sea;
Let Thy beacon guide my ship to port,
Change not the storm, change me.

When Thy Holy Word I don't understand
And Thy glory I cannot see;
Teach my eyes, give me sight and wisdom,
Change not Thy Word, change me.

If the fruit Thou hast given me to eat,
Taste bitter and sour, I plea;
Let not my will but Thine be done,
Change not the fruit, change me.

If sometime I murmur and grumble, dear Lord,
About the cross I carry for Thee;
Keep it firm on my shoulders, but hold my hand,
Change not the cross, change me.

If You change Thy ways to please me, dear Lord,
I would soon grow cold and turn from Thee;
That You may hear my prayers, dear Lord,
Change not Thy ways, change me.

There's a valley that I must cross,
Someday Thy face to see;
Lest I forget what power is Thine,
Change not the valley, change me.

Dear Lord,

Our relationship with you is usually like this:

Just another day for me - plenty of things to do
Go to work, come home late, nothing really new

Sat in bed put my head to rest grabbed my mobile phone
About to call my girlfriend now to tell her I loved her so

But before I had the chance to phone I received an incoming call
I had to look twice at the Caller ID to see if I was sure

It was a friend of mine his name was John an odd call at this time
We haven´t spoken for years, busy I guess, we're all guilty of this crime

What does he want? I thought to myself, a favour he must need
So I answered the phone and said hello, the rest I'll let you read

Minutes went by, no favour so far, maybe I could be wrong
But there it was - the favour he needs - I knew it all along

That’s the reason why he called me today - I guess we all do the same
Its only when we need something that we look to find their name

That’s the relationship we have with God - sad but it is true
We have to change the way we think - a message for me and you.

A Moment’s Breathing Prayer

Surrender to God’s help by breathing in God’s healing power ... extend inhalation. Receive God’s peace by exhaling all worries and stress – extend exhalation.

Breath in what I need from God
Breathe out impurities that harm my soul

Breathe in God’s love
Breathe out any self hatred

Breathe in God’s forgiveness
Breathe out self hurt

Breathe in God’s peace
Breathe out anxiety

Breathe in Jesus’ compassion
Breathe out my pride

Breathe in God’s confidence
Breathe out my doubts and uncertainties

Breathe in God’s clarity
Breathe out confusion

Breathe in God’s peace
Breathe out my fears

Breathe in peace ..... exhale
Breathe in peace ..... exhale
Breathe in peace ..... exhale.

Closing Prayer:

RENEW PRAYER

Lord,We are your people,
the sheep of your flock.
Heal the sheep who are wounded,
Touch the sheep who are in pain,
Clean the sheep who are soiled,
Warm the lambs who are cold.
Help us to know the Father's love
through Jesus the Shepherd
and through His Spirit.
Help us to lift up that love,
and show it all over this land.
Help us to build love on justice
and justice on love.
Help us to believe mightily,
hope joyfully,
love divinely.
Renew us that we may renew
the face of the earth.
Amen.
