Don't worry about tomorrow because God is already taking care
of it. Lord, help me set aside needless worry and anxiety so that
I have time to do all that I need to do today.
Scripture for the day:
"My vows to you I must perform, O God; I will render thank offerings
to you. For you have delivered my soul from death, and my feet from
falling, so that I may walk before God in the light of life." ~Psalm
56:12
Meditation for the day:
I can say thank you to God for everything, even the seeming trials and
worries. I can strive to be grateful and humble. My whole attitude
toward God can be one of gratitude. I can be glad for the things I
have received. I can pass on what God reveals to me. I believe that
more truths can flow in, as I go along in this new way of life.
Prayer for the day:
I pray that I may be grateful for the things I have received and do
not deserve. I pray that this gratitude will make me truly humble.
Peace of the Lord be yours, all! I just got home from a wonderful, spirit-filled talk at our Church, and we were asked to serve coffee and bars afterwards. The talk was on Stewardship and how we all have so many gifts from God and how we should spend time every night thanking Him for all the gifts He gave us that day. It made me think of what we are doing right here on this positive thread. So many ways to be a good steward for God. Lots and lots to think about, and use our talents for. We all have talents that God gives us - and they are there for us to use to give Him honor and glory! Tonight let's just think of the talents that He gave us to use and how we are using them. For me, I should play the piano more and sing - haven't lately, but will more now, I've written a praise song to Him - some years ago, it will be used more and more. He gave me the words and the melody. He gave me the idea to start this thread 6 years ago, sometimes it's not easy to keep going, but He also has me get all the prayers and inspirations to use daily on my list which I use here. Can you name some of your talents - that would be great to share. Talents are certainly blessings too. Right now I'm feeling so wonderful inside after hearing the talk, and knowing that I am loved by our Lord, Jesus and His Mother, Mary. May God grant answers to all your prayers - praying for each one of you - thanks for your prayers for me. God bless you all! Thanks for your posts - Joy - what a beautiful one you gave! More power to you!! Thanks for being a part of us here.
EIGHT THINGS ABOUT FAILURE
1. TO FAIL IS NOT THE SAME AS BEING A FAILURE. One may have many failings and yet still be far from being a failure.
2. TO FAIL IS NOT THE DISGRACE EVERYONE THINKS IT IS. To err is to do nothing more than to join the human race.
3. FAILURE IS ONLY A TEMPORARY SETBACK. Failure is never the final chapter of the book of your life unless you give up and quit.
4. NOTHING WORTHWHILE IS EVER ACHIEVED WITHOUT RUNNING THE RISK OF FAILURE. The man who risks everything to try to achieve something truly worthwhile and fails is anything but a disgraceful failure.
5. FAILURE IS A NATURAL PREPARATION FOR, SUCCESS. Strange as it may seem to some of you, success is much more difficult to live with successfully than is failure.
6. EVERY FAILING BRINGS WITH IT THE POSSIBILITIES OF SOMETHING GREATER. Analyze failure under whatever circumstances you choose, and you will discover some seeds for turning failure into success,
7. WHAT YOU DO WITH FAILURES IN YOUR LIFE IS UP TO YOU. Failure is either a blessing or a curse, depending upon the individuals reaction or response to it.
8. FAILINGS ARE OPPORTUNITIES TO LEARN HOW TO DO THINGS BETTER THE NEXT TIME-TO LEARN WHERE THE PITFALLS ARE AND HOW TO AVOID THEM. The best possible thing to do with failure is to learn all you can from it.
PRACTICING
I once heard a psychologist speak to a group of parents who were frustrated by their teenaged children's undesirable behaviours. The psychologist explained, "Your adolescents are practicing to be adults, and they aren't very good at it yet."
Those words stayed with me. Not only did they enable me to be more patient with my son through his teenage years, but also I draw on them today in relation to my own maturing in Christ. I am practicing to be a good Christian, but I often demonstrate that I'm not very good at it yet. Fortunately, God is more patient with me than I was able to be as a parent.
Now when I do fail, I ask my loved ones to be patient with me. Just as teenagers usually grow up to be responsible adults, I am hoping -- with God's help -- to become a more mature Christian.
Prayer: Dear Lord, forgive us when we fall short of your expectations for us. Help us to become the people you want us to be. Amen.
PRAYER IS:
~~~surrender to the influence of the Holy Spirit,
becoming calm, recollected in order to grow
docile as He prays in us........
~~~making way for Someone greater than we, letting
the Son's joy and love for the Father awaken
in us and fill us to overflowing........
~~~allowing the Spirit-the Son's love for the Father
-to spring from heart to lips....Authentic prayer
must echo the Son's love..........
~~~placing ourselves at God's disposal for a moment
or two, so that He can accomplish in us what He
has always wanted to do...but we've never given
Him the chance.......
~~~most simply, being 'with' God. Believing in
His loving presence even when not feeling it,
and trying to be present to Him in faith, in
loving attention, in mysterious oneness.......
* A LITTLE TALK WITH JESUS *
«:*´`³¤³´`*:»§«:*´`³¤³´`*:»§«:*´`³¤³´`*:»
A little talk with Jesus
How it smooths the rugged road,
How it cheers and helps me onward
When I faint beneath my load.
When my heart is crushed with sorrow
And my eyes with tears are dim,
There is naught can yield me comfort
Like a little talk with Him.
Though my way is often dreary
And my walk is weak and slow,
A little talk with Jesus
Tells me all I need to know.
And He answers me so gently
In a soft and loving tone,
"I am with you always
You will never be alone.
He tells me that He loves me,
And paid the ransom for my soul,
Now He is my brother
His love has made me whole.
I cannot live without Him
His love is all I know,
A little talk with Jesus
Gives me all I need to grow.
Oh, I often feel impatient
And I mourn His long delay,
For I never can be settled
While He yet remains away.
So I wait a little longer
For His own appointed time,
And I glory in the knowledge
That such hope is ever mine.
In my Father's perfect dwelling
Where the many mansions be,
I will daily talk with Jesus
And He there will talk with me.
"Come unto me, all ye that labour
And are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
{ Matthew 11:28 }
Each evening the sun sets on all of our problems and all of the mistakes we made,
But something marvellous happens to us while we sleep,
The Lord gives us rest Physically,mentally and emotionally.
We are renewed and rejuvenated to face the new day.
Today we may wake up with the same problems we had when we went to bed,
Problems that yesterday we felt we could not cope
But somehow today after proper rest and sleep we think
I Can Do It
GOD Promises to renew our strength when we rest in Him.
Turn Around
You've wandered far from me my child,
In search of what you'd be.
But I've always followed close behind,
Turn around and look at me.
For all your struggle and your pain,
Just what have you achieved?
A life of worldly goods decayed,
Where nothing is believed?
I know it's hard to look at me,
Much like Adam in your sin;
But I call all children to my throne,
Not caring where you've been.
No, you weren't created perfect child,
And mistakes - you've made a few;
But my Son has borne them on the cross,
Do you doubt my word is true?
As He is mine eternally,
Through Him you are the same;
There is no need for fear or doubt,
No further need for shame.
Just cast your cares upon me,
And confess your sins complete;
That I may be our Father now,
And lift you to your feet.
Or is your pain so precious,
And the tears you've cried so sweet,
That you'd deny His wounded side,
The holes in His hands and feet?
By His blood you are made spotless,
By His body you're made free;
And My Love is waiting here My Child
Turn around now - reach for Me!
