Daily Positive Thread for Friday

Love people so much that you will do all that you can to lessen their human

sorrows. Lord, You have shown Your love for me. May I now radiate

Your presence to others.

Scripture for the day:

"A lawyer, asked Jesus a question to test him. 'Teacher, which commandment

in the law is the greatest?' He said to him, 'You shall love the Lord your

God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.'

This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it: 'You

shall love your neighbor as yourself.' On these two commandments hang all

the law and the prophets." ~Matthew 22:35-40

Meditation for the day:

God has a plan for the world we live in. God's design for the world is a

universal fellowship of men and women, guided by God. The plan for our

lives is also in the mind of God. In times of quiet meditation we can seek

God's guidance, for the revealing of God's plan for our day. Then we can

live this day according to God's guidance. Many of us are not making of our

lives what God means them to be, and so we are unhappy. We can miss the

God's plan for our lives.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may try to follow God's design for today. I pray that I may

live my life today consistent with God's plan.

Hello my friends! Lori landed safely in Texas around noon - spending her birthday weekend with her sister. I'm sure they are having a ball. Saw on Facebook they already visited a winery! Her dog, Ollie, has been good - much better behaved, and he listens now much better! Sammy tolerates him much better too. I saw those too side by side on the recliner! It was so cute! They were sleeping! Tonight we go out playing cards - Ollie needs to be in the kennel then, he's used to that. So glad Lori called me when she landed and was waiting for her sister to pick her up. It was so nice talking to her - said it was a bit chilly there, in the 60's. But here it's zero. Praying for you all - thanks for your prayers for us.

STANDING IN MY STADIUM

If You've Ever Been In Love...

Think back (for some of you this will take longer than others) to when you

met that man/woman that you just knew would be the one. Remember when you

realized/admitted to yourself that you loved him/her. Now remember how much

you wanted to act like you were in a movie, and yell to everyone in the

football stadium "I love (fill in the name)!!!!" You told family and friends

how perfect he was. You told your boys how she was just what you were

looking for.

Well, I told THE LORD I loved Him today. And He said to me, "How much do you

love me? You haven't told anyone how good I've been to you. You haven't

shared how perfect my love is. You haven't spread the good news that I am

always there to listen to your problems. You haven't told your family how I

helped you pay your bills when you didn't have a high paying job, or how I

got you a better one. You didn't tell your boys how I took away that

addiction that would have cost you not only your job, but that woman that

was just what you were looking for. So how much do you really love me?

So, I said I would share with my friends and family (for starters) just how

wonderful, perfect, understanding, patient, loving, unselfish, considerate

and forgiving GOD really is. He has blessed me with a family that loves me

and friends that I can confide in. But even more than that He has saved me

from a destruction I couldn't even see coming. He gave to me the peace of

knowing Him and He has never broken a promise. Truly He is the best thing

that has ever happened to me. And I stand in my stadium today to yell to you

all "I love THE LORD!!!"

Coincidence or Miracle?

I was asked the other day if I believed in coincidences.

I said that, "No I don't believe that there are any coincidences in this life. I do believe that there are miracles in this life, however. I see more proof of them everyday."

Just look at the world around us. Is it a coincidence that the sun rose so beautifully today that it filled countless hearts and souls with wonder, love, peace, and joy?

It seemed more like a miracle to me. Is it a coincidence that life developed so intelligently and perfectly on this world?

Is it coincidences that birds know to fly south each winter, that the seasons change and flowers bloom each spring, and that thousands upon thousands of different plants and animals live, grow, and thrive here?

It seems to me more like a hundred million miracles created by a glorious, joyous mind and a loving hand.

Look at your own lives as well. Is it a coincidence that you accidently walked into the wrong room and met the person who changed your life and blessed you with love?

Is it a coincidence that you followed a silent urge to turn off the road before you had to and later learned you avoided a deadly accident because of it?

Is it a coincidence that you were on the verge of despair and then heard a song, or read a line, or got a call that lifted your spirits and strengthened your soul once again?

Are they all coincidences or are they all little miracles created by God and His angels to guide you, protect you and help you to ever greater love, joy, and goodness in your life?

Embrace the miracles in your life then. Embrace the miracle of life. Rejoice in these miracles and use them to choose and share ever more love and joy with others.

It's not a coincidence that God put you in their life. You're there to share his miracle of life!

Celebrate in the knowledge that you are loved, cared for, and watched over by God and always remember that Life is full of Miracles not coincidences.

Give Me Strength...

Grant me strength, Dear Lord, I pray,

Control my life, don't let me stray.

When I feel angered, help me see,

That I can place my trust in Thee.

When I feel I'm sinking low,

Hold me, Lord, don't let go.

Don't let Satan have his way,

For I know he'd lead me astray.

Make me strong when I feel weak,

Let my ears listen when You speak.

Let not my faith diminish in Thee,

But save my soul and set me free.

Forgive me when I start to doubt

What faith and trust are all about.

Hold me Lord, in the darkest night,

Take away my fear and fright.

May Your voice be one, I always hear,

Saying to me, "I'm always near".

"I'll walk with you and guide you well,

But you My child, must not rebel".

Lord, I love you, forgive my fears,

Please dry my eyes from all these tears.

May I always place my trust in You,

Remembering, Lord, You've always been true.

Galatians 6:9 - So let us not become tired of doing good; for if we do not give up, the time will come when we will reap the harvest.

IF YOU...

The Savior's words...

**If you never felt pain,

Then how would you know that I'm a Healer?

**If you never went through difficulty,

How would you know that I'm a Deliverer?

**If you never had a trial,

How could you call yourself an overcomer?

**If you

never felt sadness,

How would you know that I'm a Comforter?

**If you

never made a mistake,

How would you know that I'm forgiving?

**If you knew all,

How would you know that I will answer your questions?

**If you never were in trouble,

How would you know that I will come to your rescue?

**If you never were broken,

Then how would you know that I can make you whole?

**If you never had a problem,

How would you know that I can solve them?

**If you never had any suffering,

Then how would you know what I went through?

**If you never went through the fire,

Then how would you become pure?

**If I gave you all things,

How would you appreciate them?

**If I never corrected you,

How would you know that I love you?

**If you had all power,

Then how would you learn to depend on me?

**If your life was perfect,

Then what would you need Me for?

Mother Teresa Said...

Real prayer is union with God, a union as vital as that of the vine and the branches, which is the illustration Jesus gives us in the Gospel of John.

We need prayer.

We need that union to produce good fruit.

Christians have observed a penitential season in preparation for Easter since the early centuries of the Church. In our own time, three main religious practices are emphasized during Lent - prayer, fasting, and almsgiving (giving to the needy).

By prayer we open our hearts to our Father so we can hear his Word and be transformed by his Spirit.

By fasting we empty ourselves of bodily pleasures so we can feel a hunger for God's love.

By almsgiving we detach ourselves from worldly things so we can set our hearts on the kingdom of heaven.

Let us pray;

Spare your people, Lord. Do not treat us as our sins deserve, but look upon us kindly and show mercy to us.

+ Open our hearts that we may turn from sin and seek your mercy and forgiveness.

+ Open our eyes that we may see and acknowledge the wrongs we have done.

+ Open our hands that we may reach out to our brothers and sisters in justice and peace.

Amen.
