Hello my friends!
Well, I must say my biggest blessing today was tonight while we were at the restaurant to celebrate Linus' brother's birthday - Lori was there on my phone - on the Messenger that I downloaded before she left - so we chatted a bit, it was so nice being I hadn't heard from her since Monday morning. She's eating chicken a lot there, she says, it's a little on the tough side. She's helped make a few stoves, and she says that what we do for camping, they do for their lifestyle. Wow! Says the weather is nice. Wherever they go they walk. Her ankle is still sore, but the walking doesn't bother it she says.

You are feeling weighed down by a plethora of problems, both big and small. They seem to require more and more of your attention, but you must not give in to those demands. When the difficulties in your life feel as if they’re closing in on you, break free by spending quality time with Me. You need to remember who I am in all My Power and Glory. Then, humbly bring Me your prayers and petitions. Your problems will pale when you view them in the Light of My Presence. You can learn to be joyful in Me, your Savior, even in the midst of adverse circumstances. Rely on Me, your Strength; I make your feet like the feet of a deer, enabling you to go on the heights.
God said to Moses, “I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I am has sent me to you.’”
—Exodus 3:14
Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to go on the heights.
—Habakkuk 3:17–19 – Jesus Calling
We begin at the beginning by entering the garden. One of the first things we notice is that God planted a garden in Eden and placed the first humans in it. This tells us that God's intention for us is a garden, a place of delight, color, vitality, energetic engagement of our powers. He wants us to have life and life to the full.
How does this life come to us? Through an acceptance of God's grace and a willingness to let that grace flow through us to others - a state that existed at the beginning of Creation.
God gives the first humans, Adam and Eve, practically free rein in the garden. The Church fathers saw this liberty as expressive of God's desire that we cultivate the earth and our powers as fully as possible, that we develop our skills as scientists, politicians, poets, lovers, and friends.
But there remains a tree from which we should not eat: "it is only from the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden that God said, 'you shall not eat it or even touch it, lest you die.'" Why does this symbolic tree stand in the very middle of the garden? Because it represents the criterion of good and evil, that over which God alone has control. It is the standard by which the good life is to be distinguished from the tragic life.
The woman saw that the tree was good for food, and desirable for gaining wisdom. When that fruit was seized, when the man and woman tried to appropriate godliness for themselves, when they - and by extension all of us - make ourselves and our own wills the criterion of good and evil, the flow of grace is interrupted.
So it goes in the order of sin. Our autonomy and independence from God looks desirable, but in fact, it leads to deep vulnerability. (Adam and Eve realized that they were naked.) Ultimately, it leads to the expulsion from the Garden and introduction into the desert of self-regard and fear.

Good Morning, I'm sorry to have not posted the past two days. Have had some struggles physically, as well as emotionally. I hope it's passed for now, or at least will feel more manageable to me. There are too many things on my mind that I've been anxious about, and can't do anything about. I pray the Serenity Prayer daily, just haven't put it into practice well enough I think.
I did get ashes on Wednesday, and was able to get out to Sam's for meats and other staples. I'll be home today, trying to catch up on some housework. It's just too cold to do much else. Prayers for you Harlene.... Have a good day, and a nice weekend ! pinky

Gloria, to answer your question, Yes, Zack was adopted from Guatemala in 1987. Sam was adopted from Honduras. I made several trips to Guatemala negotiating the adoption from Guatemala , but I stayed in Honduras for about six weeks. Both countries are beautiful. Just very poor.
It is -9 here. I have an infection on my finger right hand index finger. I can't go out in this weather to go to stat care. Please say a prayer for me. It is just too cold to chance it. I appreciate your prayers.
Blessings to all here.
Lori makes black bean soup at home? I will have to try it. I will put bacon in it.
Lovestopaint, still praying for you.

Pinky - praying that your struggles soon will vanish and you will have the Peace of Jesus that He intends you to have. Thanks for sharing. I, too, plan on being home today, and baking bread.
Bobbiesue - thanks for explaining that. You've experienced both places - wow! Praying for all your intentions, daily. And yes, Darla makes that black bean soup a lot, got the recipe.

Bobbiesue, Do you have any peroxide in the house? I can remember my mom using it when we'd have a cut or something that didn't seem to want to heal the right way. Our temps are supposed to improve over the weekend. Hope yours will too.
Gloria, I just looked at the pictures you sent. So different from life here. Thanks so much for thinking of me. pinky

Please pray that Bobbisue's power stays on and that the infection in her right index finger gets better.

Thanks for your prayers for Bobbiesue.
Catwhisperer, if you mean you put a prayer request on the prayer request thread, know that I am always praying for each and every request. Sometimes I'm not there right away to answer people, but God knows and prayers are being said. Sorry you deleted it, that wasn't necessary.
Friends, my computer is going to the shop again now. I don't know if it comes back today or not, so if not, I cannot get the positive thread out, and just continue posting on this one until I get it back. I can post on the tablet, but I cannot start new threads on there.
I am hoping that this time they can fix it, otherwise we need to get a new computer. This one is about five years old. Everything works well on here, except the charter account. So if they can get that working the way it should, this computer can still go a long way yet.
Have a great, positive day today.
Praying for all your intentions, posted or not posted. God knows what they all are, and I pray that He answers all in accordance with His Holy Will.

lovestopaint .... thank you so much. You are very kind. The person I requested prayers for is not a personal friend, but a popular, well liked newscaster here in San Diego for over 15 years. He had been ambushed in front of his house and shot multiple times, unprovoked. Fortunately, he is now out of his coma, out of the hospital, and home recovering. Thank you again. God bless you.
catwhisperer - would you re-post your prayer request again on the Prayer Thread? Then we will all see it and pray for your intentions. I have been praying for all there, whether I saw the request or not, God knows who's in need. I try my best.
