Hello my friends! Today was just an ordinary day here - but just got an email from Jan, Linus' sister, saying she's just been diagnosed with stage 1 uterine cancer, and she'll have a hysterectomy on the 16th - if it hasn't spread, then that will take care of it, if it did spread, then she'll have radiation. She asks for prayer so it won't spread. So we pray and ask for healing and put our trust in Him. Today is Father Jerry's birthday, he's 77 today, a young 77! I called him today to wish him a Happy Birthday. It was on Facebook. Cold and windy outside, but warm and cozy inside - and inside our hearts, too. How do you like the way I send out the thread from gmail?
My Hand In God´s
Each morning when I wake I say,
"I place my hand in God's today;"
I know He'll walk close by my side
My every wandering step to guide.
He leads me with the tenderest care
When paths are dark and I despair---
No need for me to understand
If I but hold fast to His hand.
My hand in His! No surer way
to walk in safety through each day.
By His great bounty I am fed;
Warmed by His love, and comforted.
When at day's end I seek my rest
And realize how much I'm blessed,
My thanks pour out to Him; and then
I place my hand in God's again.

Harlene, thanks for your prayers for Jan and for your input on the thread from gmail. Linus stopped over at the place that fixed the power box on our computer this afternoon and asked about charter, and what would be a good internet provider, he was told charter is a good provider as far as fast internet etc. but he doesn't use it for emails, he's on gmail! Wow! I've noticed that gmail will make the paragraphs, I don't have to. So far that's a great plus!! Thank you!

Praying for all those living in areas with the blustery, frigid weather. Want everyone to be safe. Please seek help if needed.

It sure was blustery yesterday here!! Today it's cold but the sun is out - that's a plus. Yesterday the roads were not good either. Right now it's up to 1 degree with wind advisories for tonight and tomorrow.
Thought I'd post another inspiration here:
Burned Biscuits
When I was a kid, my mom liked to make breakfast food for dinner every now
and then. And I remember one night in particular when she had made breakfast
after a long, hard day at work.
On that evening so long ago, my mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage and
extremely burned biscuits in front of my dad. I remember waiting to see if
anyone noticed! Yet all my dad did was reach for his biscuit, smile at my
mom and ask me how my day was at school. I don't remember what I told him
that night, but I do remember watching him smear butter and jelly on that
biscuit and eat every bite!
When I got up from the table that evening, I remember hearing my mom
apologize to my dad for burning the biscuits. And I'll never forget what he
said: "Honey, I love burned biscuits."
Later that night, I went to kiss Daddy good night and I asked him if he
really liked his biscuits burned. He wrapped me in his arms and said, "Your
Momma put in a hard day at work today and she's real tired. And besides - a
little burnt biscuit never hurt anyone!"
Life is full of imperfect things.....and imperfect people. I'm not the best
at hardly anything, and I forget birthdays and anniversaries just like
everyone else. But what I've learned over the years is that learning to
accept each others faults - and choosing to celebrate each others
differences - is one of the most important keys to creating a healthy,
growing, and lasting relationship.
And that's my prayer for you today. That you will learn to take the good,
the bad, and the ugly parts of your life and lay them at the feet of God.
Because in the end, He's the only One who will be able to give you a
relationship where a burnt biscuit isn't a deal-breaker!
We could extend this to any relationship. In fact, understanding is the
base of any relationship, be it a husband-wife or parent-child or friendship!
"Don't put the key to your happiness in someone else's pocket - keep it in
your own."
God Bless You..... Now, and Always....
So Please pass me a biscuit, and yes, the burnt one will do just
fine.!.!.!.! And PLEASE pass this along to someone who has enriched your
life... I just did!

Gloriajean: I'm so sorry to read about Jan - will certainly offer a prayer.
The thread looks just fine; you do such good work!!!
Tonight we will be down in the 20's and there is some rain in the forecast tonight through tomorrow, so freezing rain/sleet will be an issue, especially for the hill country.
Stay warm and safe everyone.

Cakers - down to the 20's - wow!!! Darla should be down there too then.
But we have 0 degrees right now with wind chill advisory.
Thanks for your input on the thread from gmail. It is so appreciated, and thanks for offering a prayer for Jan.
