Daily Positive Thread for Friday

Hello my friends! First blessing of the day was when Father Mark came for lunch and we were able to serve him food from the garden and deer sausage patties which he loved! Then I just happened to mention Wanda and that she has cancer, and right away he wanted to talk to her about coming right over after lunch to visit and anoint her with the Sacrament of the Anointing. So I called her, and let him talk to her, and later I called her and she thanked me so much for telling him to give her the anointing. I told her it had to be the Holy Spirit because I don't even remember how I mentioned her, and how Father Mark took it upon himself to go right over there - he had everything in the car - another blessing! It made Wanda so happy! If she feels good enough we'll probably go out to eat next week sometime with Ann. Please do keep her in your prayers. And Darla and Greg, too, they are sick with a bad cold there in Texas! She called today. Another blessing - Linus tore out the old indoor/outdoor carpeting in the patio and is replacing it with a new one - a wine color and it matches the chairs and swing set there. The old one was tan or beige and boring. Again - I'm praying for you all for your needs!

When we give in to fears and worries they will take charge of our lives.

Lord, I place my trust in You so that I may experience every opportunity

and not miss in life that which is meant for me.

Scripture for the day:

"Jesus straightened up and said to the woman caught in adultery, 'Woman,

where are they? Has no one condemned you?' She said, 'No one, sir.' And

Jesus said, 'Neither do I condemn you. Go your way, and from now on do not

sin again.'" ~John 8:10-11

Meditation for the day:

I can start a new life each day. I can put away the old mistakes and start

anew each day. God always offers me a fresh start. I need not be burdened

or anxious. If God's forgiveness were only for the righteous and those who

had not sinned, where would be its need? I believe that God forgives us all

our sins. We can honestly try to live today the way God wants us to live.

God forgives us much and we can be very grateful.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that my life may not be spoiled by worry and fear and selfishness.

I pray that I may have a glad, thankful and humble heart.

TWENTY ONE THOUGHTS TO LIVE BY

Author Unknown

ONE. Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully.

TWO. Marry a man/woman you love to talk to. As you get older, t heir

conversational skills will be as important as any other.

THREE. Don't believe all you hear, spend all you have or sleep all you

want.

FOUR. When you say, 'I love you,' mean it.

FIVE. When you say, 'I'm sorry,' look the person in the eye.

SIX. Be engaged at least six months before you get married.

SEVEN. Believe in love at first sight.

EIGHT. Never laugh at anyone's dreams. People who don't have dreams

don't have much.

NINE. Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but it's the

only way to live life completely.

TEN.. In disagreements, fight fairly. No name calling.

ELEVEN. Don't judge people by their relatives.

TWELVE. Talk slowly but think quickly.

THIRTEEN! .... When someone asks you a question you don't want to

answer,

smile and ask, 'Why do you want to know?'

FOURTEEN. Remember that great love and great achievements involve

great

risk.

FIFTEEN. Say 'bless you' when you hear someone sneeze.

SIXTEEN. When you lose, don't lose the lesson.

SEVENTEEN. Remember the three R's: Respect for self; Respect for

others; and Responsibility for all your actions.

EIGHTEEN. Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship.

NINETEEN. When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps

to correct it.

TWENTY. Smile when picking up the phone. The caller will hear it in

your voice.

TWENTY- ONE. Spend some time alone.

HOLDING PATTERN

Author Unknown

Many times God will allow a painful situation or a painful

circumstance in our life to "swallow us up." This season in our

spiritual growth is a holding pattern. We can't move to the left or

the right. All we can do is sit, like Jonah sat in the belly of that

great fish, so God can have our undivided attention and speak to us.

God put Jonah in a holding pattern because He needed to speak to his

heart. Jonah was all alone. There were no friends to call, no

colleagues to drop by, no books to read, no food to eat, no

interference, and no interruptions. He had plenty of time to sit,

think, meditate, and pray.

When we're deep down in the midst of a difficult situation, God can

talk to us. When He has our undivided attention, He can show us things

about ourselves that we might not otherwise have seen.

A Few of God's Holding Patterns:

1. When you are sick in your physical body and you have prayed but God

has not healed you yet, you are in a holding pattern

2. When you are having problems with your children and you have put

them on the altar, but God has not delivered them yet, you are in a

holding pattern.

3. When you have been praying for the salvation of a loved one and

they have not been saved yet, you are in a holding pattern.

4. When you are in a broken relationship and you have given it over to

God, but it has not been restored yet, you are in a holding pattern.

5. When the doors slam shut before you can knock on them, you are in a

holding pattern.

When we are deep in the belly of a difficult situation, there are no

interruptions. God has our undivided attention. All we can do is sit,

think, meditate, and pray. We cannot run from God because there are no

Mountains that are high enough, valleys low enough, rooms that are

dark enough, or places that are hidden enough from Him. We must

remember to praise Him while we're waiting and remember three things:

1. The pattern has a purpose.

2. The pattern has a plan.

3. The pattern has a process.

So stop struggling and start listening, praying and trusting. He'll

keep you right where you are until you can clearly hear Him say, "I

love you."

Prayer: Father, forgive my unbelief. I know You Love me and will turn

anything around to benefit me. You have planned nothing for me but

victories and I am ready to receive them regardless of how difficult

the path. Amen

The shortest distance between a problem and a solution is the distance

between your knees and the floor. The one who kneels to the Lord can

stand up to anything.

Tomorrow Is Not Promised

Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were

meant to be there, they serve some sort of purpose; teach you a lesson, or

help figure out who you are, and who you want to become.

You never know who these people may be: your neighbor, child, long lost

friend, or even a stranger who, when you lock eyes with them, you know at

that very moment that they will affect your life, in some profound way.

And sometimes things happen to you, and at the time they seem painful and

unfair, but in reflection you realize, that without overcoming those

obstacles, you would have never realized your potential strength, or your

hearts desire.

Everything happens for a reason. Nothing happens by chance or by means of

good or bad luck. Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness, as

well as experiencing sheer stupidity; all occur to test the limits of your

soul.

Without these small tests, whether they be events, illnesses or

relationships, life would be like a paved straight flat road to nowhere,

safe and comfortable, but dull and utterly pointless.

The people you meet who affect your life, and the successes and downfalls

you experience, create who you are, and even the bad experiences can be

learned from; in fact, they are probably the poignant and important ones.

If someone hurts you, betrays you or breaks your heart, forgive them; for

they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious

to whom you open your heart...

If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally, not only because they

love you, but because they are teaching you to love, and opening your heart

and eyes to things you would have never seen or felt without them.

Make every day count. Appreciate every moment, and take from it everything

that you possibly can, for you may never be able to experience it again...

Talk to people you have never talked to before, and actually listen. Let

yourself fall in love, break free and set your sights high...

Hold your head up, because you have every right too. Tell yourself you're a

great person and believe in yourself... for if you don't believe in

yourself, no one else will believe in you either.

Create your own life and then go out and live in it! "Live Each Day As If It

Were Your Last... Tomorrow is Not Promised."

Author Unknown

Mother Teresa Said...

And this listening and this speaking is what prayer is meant to be: oneness

with God, oneness with Jesus.

Meditations by Padre Pio

Let us also ask our good Jesus for the humility, trust and faith of our dear

saint Clare; let us pray fervently to Jesus like her. Let us abandon

ourselves to Him, detach ourselves from this lying world where everything is

folly and vanity; everything passes, only God remains to the soul, if it

knows how to love Him well (Letters III p 1104).

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Friday

Hello to All!

Gloria, your meals alway sound so good. Yes, I believe when we give into fears they can take hold of us in many ways.

My blessings are many. I heard from a girlfriend today. She called to talk after about 2-12 years. She lost her son and grandson so she grieves. She was strong enough to call and get herself ready to visit here from Colorado soon. She offered me some wisdom as well. It was so nice to hear from her.

I give thanks for this nation and her people, her citizens, her allies, her many blessings, her troops, her ingenuity, her strength, and resilience. We reach out for help and support and it is given. Our voices and our prayers are heard. Be at peace and know you are loved.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Friday

Just wandering around tonight and thought I'd stop by. Husband has gone to another city for the evening. There is something called, 1st Friday. Antique vehicles, food vendors, bands, all of the stores stay open late. I didn't want to go this time so here I am, spending time with y'all.

I guess today has been a lazy day. The grandsons and I didn't do a thing. They played on tablets and computers, I fiddled around the house and here on the computer.

Enjoy your evening, hope you all have a restful night and may the good Lord bless you.
