It is very dangerous to over exert when your lungs are filled with fluid. I couldn't believe that she actually showed up. Pneumonia is not something you mess with. I had pneumonia when I was a senior in high school. I spent three days in the hospital on oxygen. I was then told to go home, stay in bed for at least two weeks, and take all my medications.

UDATE :
after returning to hospital after the show she was told the real cause of her illness is blood clots in her lungs!
I hope she will be ok.

I am presently recovering from blood clots in my lungs. Spent 8 days in the hospital, including ICU. Have been out of the hospital not quite a month. Had to have a filter put in my vena cava, give myself an injection of blood thinner once a day for a month, then swich over to oral for the rest of my life. Came home on oxygen, which I am happy to say, I am off of now. Will take 3-6 months for the clots to completely dissolve. I can honestly tell you that I would not have been able to perform as she did. The shortness of breath alone was frightening.

Thank you for the well wishes. I am doing much better, but certainly don't feel like dancing!!! No, I'm sure that my doctors would not have allowed me to dance as she did. In fact, I was hardly able to walk let alone dance. Breathing was extremely difficult and my heart rate was over 150. My husband called an ambulance as I was in bad shape. Clots would not show on x-ray, so don't know why they didn't do a CT scan right away, as they did with me. I feel that if she did have a CT scan at the hospital, and it showed clots in her lungs, she would not have been allowed to perform. It doesn't take that long to read a CT scan. If she has blood clots in her lungs, I doubt very much that she will be back next week.

Thank goodness you are doing better...I hope the best for you in the coming holidays

She is out of the competition with blood clots (pulmonary embolisms) on both lungs, not pneumonia as was first suspected.
All of those posters who said or implied that she was faking it or that the DWTS execs were doing it for "drama" and ratings......feel better now?
