You can change your recording settings to tape a few minutes before or after so you don't miss anything. Mine is set to record for 3 minutes after the program finishes.

Yes we use our dvr every day! I record every show we watch so I can scan out commercials, AND because my husband goes to bed at 9 (to get up at 4 for work).

So we watch "our" shows the next day after dinner (except for V Diaries, Gotham and Once Upon a Time IE those we watch at their actual times together). I watch "my" shows after 9 or 10. And DH watches "his" shows before dinner.

i dont own a DVR......i find the shows i want on on demand or on netflix.

Absolutely! We use ours for almost everything. We can't get all of the shows through On Demand.

The DVR is one of the best inventions ever IMO because...

1. Don't have to decide between which show to watch and which show to miss.

2. Fast Forwarding through commercials is the BEST feature!!

3. You can watch DVR'd shows any time you want not just in Primetime.

I have one but I haven't actually used it in a couple of years. I can find whatever I've missed on Xfinity On Demand or on Hulu or Amazon video. I have my favorite tv programs but I don't follow a whole lot of tv programs and if I miss an episode, I miss an episode. I'm okay with that.
